11 Chapter 1: A Fiery Situation?

One tap, one head. That was the motto Nishimoto Uzui went by. At least in shooter video games. Real-life was different…. And as he stood in these flaming ruins, holding the worn sniper rifle, everything seemed surreal. One moment he was sitting at his comfortable chair, loading a modded version of V.A.T.S, one of the most satisfying parts of the Fallout franchise.

And then, he had come here. To this smoldering ruined town, with pitch-black smoke roaring in the air and orange-red flames roaring fiercely around. Uzui turned about in horror, watching as flames consumed an old European-style building, eating through its wooden frame at an inhuman speed.

Screams and gunshots rang throughout the area, and he could see the faint silhouettes of people as they ran about, away from the source of the fire. Coughing, Uzui, stared at the gun before him. He had picked it up just moments ago and looking at it now, it was quite familiar….

Like a Scout, from that FPS game he played too much of….

Raising his hand, it seemed like he was wearing some sort of…. Military uniform…

Covering his mouth, he started darting forwards, having no idea where he was going. Standing at six-foot-tall and bulging with muscles, Uzui covered much ground in less than a minute, until he reached the middle of a plaza, before him, a blazing church stood. It seemed that everbody had evacuated…..

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

He heard as gunshots rang out, and screams echoed across the area. And then, it happened. Uzui's head was assaulted by great pain, and he gritted his teeth, as he felt information being jammed into his head.

Nishimoto Uzui. Completely average education. Joined Kingdom Corporation at age nineteen. Tasked with guarding a small Radianite deposit in the small town of Rosbar. It was a nice quaint little place with about a thousand residents.

Too bad the Radiants had decided to attack. In blazing fire and toxic fumes, they had wiped out most of the guards stationed at the deposit. And the "new" Uzui knew exactly who they were. Viper and Phoenix.

Valorant.

"So….. Can I just ditch? Might get fired…. " Uzui quickly determined that his life was much more important than this crappy job.

*Woosh!* Suddenly, a loud bang snapped, and out of the flames, a burst of light flashed, prompting Uzui to quickly duck down.

*Thoom!*

*Thoom!*

Two loud blasts could be heard, as the flames were parted, shells ricocheting against the side of the old cobblestone street.

A flaming figure tumbled backward through the wall of flames, crashing to a stop in a nearby crate next to Uzui. Immediately, he leaped back, aiming his Scout directly at the figure, who quickly got back up, turning.

"Relax, man…" With a crisp British accent, a young man of Afro-British descent coughed, flames flickering across his smooth white jacket. He wore dark baggy pants and short black dreadlocks, dyed orange like flames.

Uzui tilted his head, gripping the gun. He wasn't sure if this was the Mirror version or not. If he let down his guard, the guy could put a bullet in his head. But it was really amazing, seeing the one and only, Phoenix in person.

*Ping!*

*Ping!*

*Tchk!*

Suddenly, bullets came flying throughout, raining down upon the two of them, and they quickly got back behind a smoking truck.

Phoenix scratched his jaw in some panic, loading a few slugs into his bucky shotgun, a small sawed-off style gun spray painted in an array of flames.

"We are in….. Quite the pickle." Uzui said, ducking his head as a bullet shot by the side, deflating the truck's tire. He was putting his bets on this one being on his side… It was risky, but his intuition told him that this guy was on his side.

"True. I really didn't anticipate they would send me and Viper. Damnit….." Phoenix gnashed his teeth, wincing as blood trailed down from his left thigh.

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

As bullets peppered the area with sparks, Uzui raised his gun, cocking it. His memories of the former Uzui gave him enough understanding of how to use the gun, but peeking was not the most ideal in a situation like this.

"Don't suppose you can do your flame thingy?" Uzui asked, sparing secrecy.

Phoenix shook his head:

"I might be able to flash them, but I'll probably be riddled with holes before then. These guys are good. I mean, one of them is myself for god sake."

"Ugh. They are going to close in…." Uzui tilted his head, a bullet zinging past his head, almost cutting through his long white hair.

*Bang!*

He quickly raised his muscular hands, shooting a shot back, but it doubtfully hit anyone.

And then, as he pulled back, something happened.

[Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System: V.A.T.S. Enabled.]

Suddenly, before his eyes, time seemed to slow down, and through the rubble and the truck, countless virtual icons appeared, glowing a dark forestry green. Each one showed numbers and statistics, and Uzui suddenly realized that something big had just happened.

V.A.T.S. An ability from Fallout that gave one literal aimbot, unless you ahd a pole in front of your face at least. It had traversed over to this world with him… So basically, he was an human aimbot now.

Staring through the wall, he watched in fascination as two silhouettes, one of a tall man identical to Phoenix, and another, of a slim woman with a mask and leather armor of sorts, peppered the backside of the truck with bullets, probably trying to cover fire and wall bang them.

"An Ares and a Spectre…." Uzui muttered, before propping the gun up. It was bullshit time. "I believe I know their location now. One of them seems to be standing on the crate to the far right, and the other is literally on the other side of the truck."

Phoenix looked at him skeptically, biting his lip.

*Phhsh…..*

Suddenly, the two looked up, as a hazy green cloud soon enveloped the air, closing in on them.

"Crap." Uzui cursed, stepping back. He was going to do it…. Hopefully, this worked.

Thinking in his mind, suddenly, everything was rendered to slow-motion once again, the nearby flames flickering up and down at a sloth-like speed, and Uzui could see each individual bullet fly past him. He would have to go fast. And so he did…

*Trbang!*

Through the toxic gas, he selected the two targets, and then, V.A.T.S, did the rest, as Uzui felt his arms and legs get into motion, dashing out from the truck, the first bullet leaving its chamber, embedding itself in the face of Viper, who widened her eyes as blood spilled into the air.

*Trbang!*

Still in motion, he cupped his mouth, sliding through the "smoke", right alongside the enemy Phoenix, who also widened his eyes as smoke trailed about, a bullet in his head. The Mirror fell to the ground, collapsing, smoke fuming out of the center of his head.

Blood spilled to the floor, and Uzui felt his calf scrape against the rocky road.

"Oh, damn…..!" Phoenix peaked out the side as the toxic fog disappeared, looking at the two dead Radiants. "Nice!" He said, clapping awkwardly.

"I always bring it." Uzui mock bowed, and collapsed to the ground, adrenaline pumping through his veins and sweat slipping down his face.

"You good brother?" Phoenix looked down, scratching his face.

"Been better," Uzui replied, rolling his eyes.

"That much is obvious." Giving him a hand, Phoenix hoisted Uzui up, wincing at his own wound.

The two stared at the burning scenery around them, their eyes narrowed.

"So, I don't suppose you can like use your…. Magical powers to extinguish this?" Uzui coughed, holding in his breath.

"I'm probably fine walking through that, but you? Damn… We need to wait, help is on the way." Phoenix spoke staring in distaste at his own dead corpse just a few feet away.

"Second-hand smoke." Uzui shrugged, watching the fire. It encompassed the whole area, surrounding the two completely. The behemoth-like flames were even partially burning into the stone street…. Growing closer and closer, he gulped, throwing the Scout to the side with a loud clatter.

Phoenix stared about, breathing in and out heavily. He also had no idea how to deal with this. Probably more of a starter of fires than an extinguisher. Pyromaniac, that guy….
