The village:

Valk stopped by an old oak tree it's roots twisted and dug into the ground covered by dark green moss, she placed one leather boot onto a nearby root. Valk had done this many times, it had become a sort of ritual, climbing the trees, it always made her feel free, when the wind whipped at her hair it was also an easy task, she had elves light weight to thank for that. She glanced up the tree it's branches sticking out like disfigured arms, valk pushed her weight onto her boot and pushes herself upwards, for a split second she felt nothing beneath her but empty air. Valk smiled to herself and reached up grabbing onto a branch before gravity kicked it, she pulls herself onto the branch and shifts into a comfortable position. Valk crouched and pushes off the branch jumping tree to tree swiftly re-positioning her feet on the different branches to stop herself falling. Valk ran along a creeky branch and pauses at the end, she pushed back the branches to reveal a village but not an ordinary one. It was suspended in the air attached to the trees with thick rope bridges which joined each house together, each house had dark green ivy twisted around keeping the structures sturdy, from the ground up there were wooden staircases twisting up around the trees with a blue orb of light at the bottom of each one.

Valk took a deep breath and jumped down from the tree landing lightly on her feet without a sound, she would have prefered to climb the trees to get to the houses however it was frowned apon even she knew that. Valk moved to the bottom of one of the staircases, the blue orb at the bottom brightened as if waiting for her and flouted to her side, She glanced at the orb before beginning the long twisted climb up the steps, the orb floated beside her lighting up the path. It took a while of climbing before she reached the top of the stairs, valk tapped the orb once she was at the top and it dulled before floating back down the way she had come. Valk moved off the stairs and onto a rope bridge which creeked slightly at her weight, she moved across it quietly heading towards her house hoping not to wake any unsuspecting elves. Valk paused outside of the house and quietly gripped the door handle, she twisted it slowly and pushed the door open. Valk tiptoed inside and pushed the door shut, she pulled off her leather boots and placed them next to the door as if they had never moved. Valk had grown accustomed to sneaking back into the house at night, she knew every floorboard which creeked and which ones didn't, she couldn't help but feel guilty about sneaking off so much.

She shook her head and climbed up some stairs leading up to her room, valk sighed and moved into her room, it was quite a plain room, large but that was normal in the village, a fur rug lay on the floor in the middle of the room, next to it sat the bed positioned by the window which was decorated with swirling patterns, there stood a chest of draws by the side of the bed and a wardrobe opposite it. Valk pulled off her leather hunting jacket, black crop top, jeans, bra and socks folding them up before tossing them carelessly into her wardrobe. Valk climbed into her bed snuggling under the warm covers, she sighed and lay staring up at the ceiling for a while before finally relaxing and slowly drifting off into sleep.

Valk woke to be gifted by the sun shining on her face through the window, she groaned and covered her face to protect her eyes. The door creeked slightly and valk glanced towards it only to see her mothers egar face poking around the door " rise and shine sleepy head" her mother grinned and shut the door quietly making her way downstairs. Valks mother looked nothing like her, compared to valks flowing brown oak colored hair her mother practically the opposite with her bright blonde hair which was so short it tended to stick out giving her mum a permanent bed head, it did suit her through. Valk forced herself out of the warm and comfortable bed and started pulling on her clothes " i'll be down in a sec" while many of the other elves tended to call the perants after their first names valk just called her mum, it just felt to weird to be calling her something different after all these years plus the fact her mother's name 'hera' did not suit her bouncy personality at all. Valk opened her door and stretched making her way down the stairs and towards the smell of freshly baked waffles.

Valk scooped up a few waffles from the single plate on the intricately carved table, she shoved one I her mouth and rushed to the front door pulling on her shoes. Valk heard her mother's voice close behind her " hey they weren't ready yet, get back here missy!" By the time her mother had reached the door valk was already out rushing through one of many crowded bridge's full of various stools bursting with coulor. She glanced back at her mother's form in the doorway " thanks for the waffles, I'll cook later! " valk smiled hoping that her mother would forgive her for stealing the waffles if she cooked later. Her mother sighed and shook her head heading back inside " that girl will be the death of me"

Valk slowed to a walk and said good morning to the elves she passed along the bridge, she sighed and moved over to the Edge glancing down at the sudden drop not noticing the figure moving up behind her.

The next chapter won't be done for a while, I haven't been well and had a migraine recently
