33 Chapter 37

"Well... That was easy. Don't you think so, Goliah?"

Goliah seems like he still has something to say but he chose not to do it anymore. What's the use of it anyways? His understanding of this world is very different from Janus. Or maybe it is safe to say that a person's normal thinking does not apply to Janus at all.

When they entered the dark forest anymore, Goliah was expecting that the wolves were going to attack them. Goliah was confident that he can defeat those hungry wolves although they work in groups. He already survived living inside the Rozea Dungeon for five years where he fought with different monsters and creatures. In Goliah's perspective, he can now face even the fiercest animal in the forest without any problems.

But until they reached the forest's exit, not a single animal dared to approach them. And that is an impossible thing to happen! The dark forest they entered earlier was famous for its eerie environment as well as the dangerous animals living inside of it.

Before Goliah entered the dungeon before, he already heard about the wolves living in that forest. They said those wolves were different from the wolves in the mountain because of their excessive hunger. It was said they were possessed with evil powers because the forest where they lived is located near the Rozea dungeon. That story may be a product of the townspeople's imagination, but the fact those wolves are really existing in that place is still a scary thought.

That's the reason why people avoid entering that dark forest at all costs. But for someone like Goliah who already experienced living his life with danger lurking around him every day, entering the dark forest is now just an easy task for him. Unlike his constant fear in Rozea Dungeon, Goliah is more confident that he can enter the forest and make it out alive.

So Goliah fully prepared himself for the challenge they will face once they entered the forest. He expects to see a pack of wolves growling and ready to pounce at them. He is also expecting to see trying to trap them by calling their other friends and waits for the right time to attack them. Goliah did not try to lower his guard and did not dare to let go of the dagger in his hand.

Goliah knows that Janus can protect himself. He might as well let the wolves eat his brain if he still thinks his friend is a hopeless and weak person. But it does not mean he will just let Janus protect him all the time. Janus had already made a lot of things for him. This time, Goliah thinks he should protect himself instead of relying on his safety to his friend.

But during their two hours trip inside the dark forest, not a single wolf tried to approach them. Goliah wants to believe that maybe the wolves living there had already died or moved to another forest. But his sense of hearing became sensitive because of his situation inside the dungeon can hear the distant growling sounds of animals not too far from them. He even saw a silhouette of a huge wolf behind them earlier but it disappears in an instant.

Cannot bear their weird situation anymore, Goliah asked Janus about it. His friend and benefactor, who was walking leisurely beside him, told him that the animals will not dare to approach them because of the two kittens on their shoulders. Although his two-headed lion has transformed into two little kittens, they are still dangerous and superior to other animals in the forest.

It may not be obvious to Goliah, but Lele and Riri protected them from the big and dangerous animals in the forest. The cabbage-like plant that Janus had fed to them earlier can conceal their appearance to the human's eyes and turned them into a pair of small kittens. But in the perspective of the animals around them, Lele and Riri are still that huge and vicious two-headed lion that can make their tails curl into submission.

Goliah suddenly felt betrayed and stupid after he heard that. His brain seems like it can understand the logic behind the reasons Janus had given to him. But at the same time, Goliah also feels like he already loses his capability to think straight the moment he discovered Janus's identity. In the end, Goliah had already given up and just followed Janus quietly until they reached the exit.

Janus obviously has no idea about the thoughts running in Goliah's head. He is more excited to reach the town and experience life living in a medieval era. Janus has a vague idea about their lifestyle thanks to some of the video games he had played before. But to experience it in real life will surely bring him more exciting than experiencing it in a game.

While walking, Janus and Goliah arrived at a two-way road. He just followed the direction that his system had given to him earlier. Turning his head, Janus raised a brow when he saw his beefy friend who looks like a sulking gorilla behind him.

"Hey, Goliah. Stop sulking there and tell me where to go now." Janus said.

"What do you mean—"

Goliah's eyes widened like saucers when he saw the very familiar road in front of him. They only need to walk for twenty minutes and they will finally reach the nearest town. It is also the same town where he lived before. In his excitement, Goliah forgets the thoughts in his head and ran on the road with open arms while laughing like a kid who sees a shop filled with toys and candies. Janus can only watch him with a smile on his face while shaking his head.
