"Oi, Vain!" A well-built man called out to an average black-haired man.
"Yeah?" Vain asked and the man took out a piece of paper.
"Here's the file for the project, boss wants it revised and edited by tomorrow." The man said as he left.
"Hais, another day of hard work." Vain said as he walked home and got started on the project.
"It's getting late, I should go to bed. But I have to get this done or the boss would kill me!" Vain said as he started to doze off then finally blacked out.
'Oh, I must have fallen asleep. Why is it so dark though?' Vain questioned as a purple screen popped up in front of him.

The sound of an alarm echoed throughout a small room. Seconds later, the alarm was crushed into a small ball.
"God I hate alarms-Ah!" A purple-haired young man said as he held his head.
"Forgot, can't say anything to do with God." Vain said as he got up and looked at himself in the mirror.
"Satan, I'm handsome." Vain said as he looked at his body. His body was fit but not bulked up with muscles, he had his clan trait of purple hair and purple eyes, and he was around 5'9. He had a handsome face that looked masculine yet feminine at the same time.
"I should check my status, maybe I have an OP cheat lying around." Vain said and a purple screen popped up in front of him.

"Not OP, but strong enough." Vain said as he got ready for school.
"Kuoh Academy, I wonder if I'll be dragged into the crazy conflict." Vain said as he left his house. As he was walking to school, he saw the perverted trio peeking at a woman who was taking a shower.
"Heh, pew." Vain said as he used his telekinesis to make them fall on top of each other. The woman heard the commotion and screamed and the perverted trio ran away laughing. Vain reached the front gates and smiled.
"First day of school, haven't said that in years." Vain said as he walked to class and saw Issei talking to a black-haired girl. He eavesdropped on their conversation.
"Sure Yuma, I'd love to go on a date with you!" Issei said as he smiled and scratched the back of his head.
"Alright! Meet me at the train station by 3:00!" Yuma said as she walked to class.
"Yes!" Issei said as he pumped his fist.
"Maybe, she'll let me touch her boobs!" Issei said with a perverted face.
"What a dumbass." Vain said as he stopped eavesdropping and made his way to class. He read the class sign and was baffled.
"I'm really in class 3-B with that dumbass." Vain said as he sighed and walked in.
"Everyone, meet the new transfer student Vain Gate." The teacher said as Vain walked to the front of the class.
"Hello, I'm Vain Gate you can call me Vain. I'm from America, I'm seventeen, and I like kendo." Vain said as he bowed and walked to his seat. The teacher continued her lesson and Vain sat next to Issei.
"Hey, so how is America? Is there really big-boobied blondes over there?" Issei asked with a lecherous face.
"Yes some of them have big boobs, not all American's are blonde though." Vain whispered back with a laugh. Vain stopped talking to Issei and fell asleep. Vain woke up to the bell ringing signifying lunchtime. Vain went to the roof and sat on the edge.
"Maybe being a villain would be cooler, I don't want to follow Issei around and be forgotten." Vain said as he jumped off the roof.
"Might as well figure out my limits. Don't wanna think I'm invincible now." Vain said as he left the school campus and ran until he reached a forest. Vain first tested his strength by punching a tree with his full power. The tree splintered into pieces and Vain was satisfied. Next, he tested his speed by timing himself running 10km. He finished in around 8 minutes making his base running speed 75 km/h. Next, he tested his Telekinesis on another tree.
Vain's body gained a purple aura and his hair started to rise as he pushed his telekinesis to the max. He felt his telekinesis hit a limit and he willed for the tree to be lifted. What Vain ended up lifting was a truck-sized portion of the earth.
"Damn." Vain said as he dropped the boulder and exhaled.
'What are my energy reserves?' Vain asked.

'Damn, pushing my Telekinesis to the limit ate a huge chunk of my energy reserves. I need to work on increasing that.' Vain said as he tested his Psionic Magic. A blue magic circle formed in front of his hands as he casted a basic spell.
'Psionic Magic: Psionic Bolt!' A blue bolt of pure energy struck a tree and made a clean hole directly in the middle.
"Cool! Now to test my last skill, Psychometry." Vain closed his eyes and willed to know the information on the tree he just destroyed.

"That's neat, too bad it's residual or I'd just learn everything in a couple of days." Vain said as he looked at his watch.
"Looks like lunch is over, time to head back." Vain said as he ran back to Kuoh Academy.
