7 Chapter 7: Under new management

Opening my eyes as they slowly readjusted the the bright light, I found myself in an empty coach with nothing but a table and a chair on the other side.

"Nice of you to join me." Lavina says with a smirk as she placed her legs on to the table. "I trust you know who I am and don't worry I already know who you are Mr Lawzi." She says watching me closely taking mental notes of my body language.

"What do you want." Unsure of what to expect I looked around uncomfortably as I spotted a camera planted on of the walls. "Don't mind them, anyhow. Mr Lawzi, I'd like to first start by thanking you for saving my daughter generally

I'd hand you some reward and let you be on your marry way but your situation isn't in the most likable places." She says showing her tablet that had a picture of me saying wanted.

"What the?!"

"Seems like Bernard wants your head." She says causing me to gulp." And honestly the price his offering is rather tempting."

She says before turning to me." Mr Law. Can I call you that? I'll just call you that." Lavina says not bothering to consult me before adding. "I'd send you the rewards into your account but, since you're being hunted down by both the government and Barnard who's one of the top mafia's in Green Tokyo, I'd rather not have them both gunning for my throat. What will you do with it?"

Not bothering to correct the nickname, my mind was still trying to figure out how to use it? The government was after me and even worse Bernard had now placed a bounty on me. Leaving the country legally was out of the question but i don't have any connections. I thought to myself as I saw a smirk on Lavina's face.

"If only you had a powerful backer, someone who understood what you were going through and was willing to help you." I could feel the sarcasm dripping off her words. She knew I was corned between a rock and a hard place, sighing softly I turned to her. "But I saved your daughters life?"

"And I thanked you, am offering to give you one million and I'm protecting you from you Know who." She says counting with her fingers. "I'd say my deeds outnumber yours three to one, Don't you agree?"

Crap? She did have points while I was a dead man walking, bitting my lower lip as I hoped not to regret what I was about to do."What do you want from me?"

"I want you Mr law." Saying it with a straight face I somehow found it intimidating but also.... you know what. "I need a person of your skills. Someone who not only knows their way around the wheel but also has nothing to lose." As if reading my mind she adds."You can't go back to your old life after that stunt you pulled yesterday. better yet you need me just as much as I need you or even more."

"So what? Your saying that we become partners?" I say as she laughs.

"Hahaha! I was thinking more of master and dog relationship." She says giving me a wink, as I felt like an arrow had punched my chest. "What if I object your offer?"

"Then I'll have no choice but to kill you, After all I can't have a weak link can I?"

Feeling the cold sweat from my back I wondered who was more deadly Bernard or Lavina, either way they both seemed like the type to get what they wanted as they had the resources to do so. Personally being wanted by one Mafia boss was enough for me. "Where do I sign up?"

Hearing this Lavina smiles to herself. "Behind me is your room." She says using her thumb. "Wash up and get suited." Standing up she tosses me a key with a stylish L on it before walking away. "I do hope that you find it comfy."

Walking inside my "room" I was stunned.

"Do you think he'll like the room? Rosey (The happy twin) asked.

"I don't know what he likes." Rosay (The serious twin ) responded as she watched the camera before the door opened up and Lavina walked in.

"Seems like I'm missing out." She says noticing what was on the screen. Which Rosey blocks but it was to late.

"How far are you with the preparations?" She says as Rosey rushes to get something. "I'll be back!"

"We just about finished with it." Rosay says before Rosey comes back with a suit case.

"ID, Passport, bank account and everything else you requested for is in that suitcase." Rosay says as Lavina nods in in satisfaction. "How is my daughter holding up?"

"Besides some minor injuries she'll be fine." Rosay says eating dry meat. "But what about Bernard? What will we do about him?"

"You leave him to me." Lavina says with a look. "Not only daring to harm my daughter but kidnapping my son to use as leverage. I'll make him swim in his own blood." Seeing this the two twin didn't want to be in Bernards shoes. "Anyways, I'll be with my daughter if anything important comes up." Lavina says before leaving.

Seems like Thembi was right, my stats have increased,tho my intimidation seems to have gone down and my relationships aren't empty I thought as I chuckled while laying down on the bed. At least Bernard still had five positive points. I wonder what would happen if Lavina relationship points reached 100, would I be??*cough*"no control yourself." I said as I took out the key.
