2 Throughout the years

"...Be strong master Leo, for your future holds many challenges up ahead."- Vernon

[ 1 month later]

Not much has been going on for Leo, he's just been doing what babies do. Sleep, eat, drink, poop, pee, repeat. In fact his current lifestyle can be considered normal, his first night being the exception.

And while most people would complain about having nothing to do, or their dignity going down the drain. Leo here begged to differ, as he was enjoying life to the fullest. At least according to him.

"Hehehehehe. Now this is the life, having nothing to do. While getting feed and cleaned, I must enjoy these moments while I still can." "Hehehehe."- Leo

"But you know I thought this would be more awkward, or embarrassing. But surprisingly I feel no shame, maybe it's cause I have the mindset of a baby at the moment..." "But you know let's not think about it, and enjoy our nap."- Leo then proceeded to fall asleep not wanting to risk another mental breakdown. He had a lot of those in the beginning but as he was just a baby, the sisters in the orphanage thought he was just cranky.

[ 3 months later]

Leo had now finally learned how to crawl, but constantly told himself that it wasn't enough. However to the sisters and children in the orphanage these were joyous moments.

[ 7 months later]

Leo had now finally begun to grow some of his teeth. And he had also learned how to get around the orphanage without getting lost. These two things were major breakthrough's in Leo's progression.

[ 12 months later ]

It was at this very moment that Leo had finally started to understand some of the words that were being said. In fact he himself had began to make some noises that resembled words too. With every passing day Leo could see it, the finish line.

[2 years later]

Leo at this point had everything down, he could talk, see, speak, eat, walk. He had everything in the palm of his hands.... everything except for the dreaded potty training, you see it's not that he didn't want to learn. In fact he could very much go to the bathroom by himself. It's just that the toilet seat was to big for him to sit on, so every time he tried to sit he would slide down and almost touch his excrement. And then there was reading, however unlike potty training he was very enthusiastic about this aspect of his so called "training." Which in reality was training, although not the training that most people expected.

[4 years later]

Leo at this point had memorized all the children's names in the orphanage, including the four sisters that took care of them. While also remembering the town's name. He even knew the name of the local baker in town.

'Nothing could go wrong' he thought to himself.

[8 years later]

Leo was at this point the middle child of the 20 children in the orphanage. Some had been adopted, while other's left when they were considered adults. So he saw many people he considered family leave. However he wasn't sad for too long, as he always got new family members. Which actually wasn't a good thing, as there was quite a problem with abandoned children. It seems that there were a lot of so called adults that weren't ready for the pressure that came with raising a child. But who is he to judge, as he himself never had to make such a major decision in his life.

[ 8 years and 6 months later]

Leo had done it, he had finally finished reading all 25 elementary books that the orphanage had about history. But what shocked him the most while reading was that he may have not left his world at all, since in one of the book's it talked about a ancient city called "the big apple." Had he perhaps gone to the future instead?

Leo's mind was in a mess at this moment. Instead of getting the answers to his questions he instead got more questions without answers. But what troubled him the most was how the city fell. No how all the cities fell from his time.

'What the hell happened?' Leo thought to himself.

[ 8 years and 9 months later]

Throughout the last 3 months Leo had delved himself into history books. Day and night, throughout the whole day he would never stop reading trying to find out what exactly happened. But whenever he found one answer to a question, he would always come out with two more questions. It was a never ending loop, and he was slowly spiraling down. Even the sisters were worried about him, as he sometimes forgot to eat, or he would even stay up late at night. But the sisters always reminded him. In fact he didn't even notice that 2 children were adopted throughout this 3 month period, until he asked one of the sisters where Zack was at.

However he did get one major question answered. He was in fact in the future, which currently was 2788. It did however take quite a while to find the year, as most people didn't even know what year it was. Only after a whole month of searching did he find the answer. But it didn't seem like the future, no it seemed like humanity had actually gone back to the medieval times. Something major must have happened, and he needed to know what it was. Why he was so obsessed about the past he himself didn't know, but if he had to make a guess it would probably be for his peace of mind.

[9 years later]

Leo at this point had given up on trying to find the answers, as it seemed he would never truly find out what happened. Gone throughout the ages. But he was okay with that... at least that was what he constantly told himself. But more importantly though was the changes in his body. Even though he had almost never exercised at all, his body was always in peak shape, with lean muscles all around. In fact he was considered the strongest child out of all 20 children. Even against the older kids which were teenagers at this point.

[9 years and 3 months later]

Leo had decided to instead just spend his days helping out in the orphanage, or working out with a wooden sword that he made to keep his mind occupied. As he was once again slowly going back down in the spiral of the past. And he need to stop, before he stressed himself out.

[9 years and 5 months later]

Luckily for Leo he finally got another thing to think about, 2 days ago the sisters decided to finally tell Leo a little about his past. It seems that Leo might be of a noble or royal bloodline. How he came to this conclusion were one of two reasons. The first being his good looks, and the second one being the golden ring with a emblem. The second one being the most obvious. The sisters themselves had never seen this emblem before, so they didn't know where exactly he originated from. But Leo didn't care, nor did he want to go and visit his family. As Leo himself said "I already am with my family." Which caused all four sisters to tear up.

If only he knew what exactly happened that night, would he have said the same thing? Only time would tell.

[9 years and 8 months later]

Lately Leo had been hearing a bunch of noise at night. However whenever he brought it up everyone would say it was his imagination. It seems that they were either right, or he just had better hearing. But he guessed it was the latter, as he had also felt like he was being watched constantly at night. Or how he sometimes could make out a silhouette in the forest. He didn't know what exactly was going on, but he didn't like it. So he did the only thing he could think of, he told the local guards about it. However just like the children and sisters in the orphanage, they told him it was just his imagination. So he decided to take matters into his own hands, by making traps all around the orphanage. But was later told to disarm them from the sisters, as they said it was too dangerous, and someone could get hurt.

[9 years and 9 months later]

Perhaps Leo was imagining things, the noise had stopped. He didn't feel like he was being watched, or was being followed. Maybe he was just paranoid for no reason. Or perhaps it was the stress that was affecting him. But it mattered not as those days were in the past.

[9 years and 10 months later]

Lately Leo had just been training with his wooden sword to pass the time. As he had told everyone that he wanted to be a knight, and of course everyone gave him their full support. But he could only get so far, as he had no teacher. Nor did he have any clue on what to do, besides slashing up and down and sideways. Then there was the fact that the wooden sword was simply not a challenge to wield, it felt like a stick to him. In fact it stopped being a challenge to swing when he turned 5, but he decided to never make a new wooden sword. As it would always be the same thing as his old wooden sword. He did try buying a real sword with the money he had saved up from his first birthday, but was stopped by the sisters. As they didn't want him wielding a real sword since he could get hurt.

[9 years and 11 months later]

In the span of one month more and more people were going missing. At first they thought they just got lost, or simply left town. But when they found the dead bodies mauled to death, the town went into high alert. The defenses tripled, more guards were recruited, and there was now a curfew for everyone in town. And it wasn't just their town that went into high alert, no it was all 12 towns near the forest that went into overdrive. The tell tale signs of a lesser vampire attack. For lesser vampires always hunted in packs of 100-1000. Some people argued that it could have just been a wild animal, but was later debunked do to one major sign at the crime scene. There was no blood left. Everyone was in a terrible mood that day, everyone except Leo.

Leo here was having different thoughts in his head.

'I knew it!' 'I knew it wasn't my imagination!' - Leo exclaimed inside his head. Glad to know that he wasn't going crazy.

[9 years and 11 1/2 months later]

Throughout these last two weeks things haven't been so good. 9 out of the 12 towns have fallen down to ruins. The people slaughtered, and their screams carried to the towns that remain. Luckily Leo's town is still standing, but probably not for very long. Food supplies have been running low, and the farmers are too scared to go outside to check on their fields. But who can blame them with what's been going on. The guards being reduced to 1/3 of their original numbers. And half of the town's people dead, the children and sisters in the orphanage being no exception. Now there's only 1 sister and 5 children left, with Leo being one of them. It wasn't until recently that everyone in the orphanage decided to go to the center of the town. As they all felt safer in numbers, but it wouldn't matter as they were still dropping down like flies.

People tried to flee from all this horror, but immediately as they got close to the entrance they were all shred to pieces. And the onlookers could only watch in horror and disgust at the sight.

However if there was one bright side out of this whole situation, it would have to be Leo now finally having a real sword that he picked up on the way from a dead guard. But Leo wasn't smiling at all.

[9 years and 11 3/4 months later]

It's been a hellhole for Leo and the other's as of lately. Nothing has been going their way. Their town is the last that remains, but that seems more like a curse. There's no more food left, so some people are now choosing to eat the remains of the dead while others choose to die from starvation. And even then there's barely any meat to go around as most of it is eating by the lesser vampires. And when they do find enough to eat they always get sick. Some throw up the meat that they try to digest, while other's get diseases and die a slow and horrible death. Even if they cook the meat it seems like it doesn't kill any of the bacteria. Their numbers plummeted even more because of this. Now being 1/5 of the original town's population. In fact the only people that remain from the orphanage being Leo himself. As he was the only person that never got sick when eating the meat, but that didn't mean he wasn't disgusted by it. He did try saving them, but there was only so much he could do. They didn't have any medicine as they had ran out about a while ago. So he could comfort the 4 children and sister as they slowly died.
