9 Adoption

I take Hannah and Ann to the adventurer's guild, I already informed our parents and used adjust to make them like the idea. Now, time to search for a family.

We received some stares from the members of the guild but I paid it no mind, though Ann seemed to be glaring back at the members and Hannah just timidly stared at the floor.

"When is the noble going to adopt us, my feet are starting to hurt..." Ann spoke out, breaking the silence in the guild. I decided it was best to ignore and not answer, as I took a list from the guild.

Some were looking for just about anyone while others only wanted the best of the best.

I eventually found a family called Apollo, the last names of families were short and weird but the power behind those words made anyone shut up.

Apollo is a great family who focuses on swordmanship and allows magic users inside. All you had to do was meet the strict requirements and you're in.

After checking my party, I realized that do meet those requirements, even me. I write down our names and magic and hand it over to the receptionist who looked at us in disbelief.

"James - Fire

Ann - Fire

Hannah - Healing"

It might look simple but fire users were known for explosive power and healers were a rare type with almost none appearing for tens of years.

We were asked to demonstrate in a back room to verify our words, which we did. After sending the letter to the house of Apollo, not even a hour passed by when we received an invitation to the house.

The receptionist was the one who had guided us, walking through the streets of the town and reaching a noble's estate my eyes widened in awe.

The house was massive, almost looking like a miniature castle. Guards in full iron armour were circling around the perimeters while some stayed stationed around the main entrance.

The guard stopped the receptionist before asking her business, she quickly explained and showed the letters as proof. Hearing this, we were allowed entry.

We walked through the front door and I see a small family eating dinner at a massive round table. They seemed proper and noble, even when eating. There were 5 people there, sitting at the table.

One of them was an old man, who despite his age looked fairly good. The other was a woman who was also old, however she looked extremely fit, having an hourglass figure.

There were three children around my age from what I presumed. One was a boy who was probably the oldest, having brown hair, his eyes looked pretty sharp too. The other was a boy who looked exactly my age, he had blonde short hair and blue eyes making him look somewhat handsome, but also a bit snobby.

The other one was a girl who I was interested in, she had brown hair and blue eyes and was breathtaking, her long hair tied up in a ponytail and her chest that was massive for her age. Her thinly shaped waist and her curvy ass suggested she did a lot of physical training, her body having a hourglass figure like her mother.

System, analyze the brown haired girl.

"Name: June Apollo

Job: Student

Magic: Enhance, Barriers

Skills:

Increase Power

Increase Speed

Increase Defense

Increase All

Shield

Power: 79"

Enhance? That's a rare type of magic I've never heard of before. She also has barrier magic, which she probably took from her parents. That's to be expected, when I took magic from mom I received a new fire type magic as well.

Her power is at 79, she could use her skills a lot without getting tired. I really should find better ways to get power...

"Ah, you must be the group of children I heard about. Come, come. I heard two of you were fire users and one of you used healing magic?" The noble who I assumed was the father spoke out, in a happy but sceptical tone.

"Yes sir, I'm a fire user and my sister Ann is a fire user too. Hannah, on my left, is a healing user as well. If you'd want, we could show you a demonstration." I spoke out, as calmly and properly as I could. Standing before a noble, manners and speech were all that mattered.

The noble seemed satisfied with me and said, "That's all right, I've already verified with the guild. Hannah, you truly were born with a remarkable gift as were the two of you. Please, take a seat. You're a part of the family now."

We took our seats, staying on one side of the table while the family stayed on the other side. The blondie had been staring at Hannah and Ann the whole time, it feels like he's been neglecting me ever since I spoke.

System, use analyze on the blondie.

"Name: Earl Apollo

Job: Student

Magic: Lightning

Skills:

Electrocute

Lightning Speed

Magic Armour

Power: 352"

D-Damn, he's strong... he has lightning magic and even magic armour, and his power is at 352. Is he some kind of monster? Even though my sister had a lot of magic, she was considered average compared to him...

Even if we were to all fight him 3 vs 1 I'm not sure if we could beat him, worst case I'll use my hypnosis skills to win.

I don't really want him as my party member... I think I'd be more annoyed with him by my side, and I kind of want to smash his pretty boy face into the ground but whatever.

The noble treats us as guests and introduces us to one another, June had a confident and proper way of speaking, almost as if she was a knight. Earl, however, scoffed at my direction before introducing himself, his eyes locking with Hannah and Ann while he said his name and magic.

Apparently, Earl is one of the best magic students at the academy. His father was an adventurer who also had lighting properties and after giving him all of his strength, Earl became the strongest without having to lift a finger. However, his noble house was attacked and him not knowing how to fight and his father's strength depleted, his house was destroyed and he came here to live in this place as an Apollo.

This was the reason many magic knights never gave their kids their own magic, they waited for them to grow up and graduate from school before granting them their magic as if they didn't then their house would get obliterated from those who seeked land, treasure or just had a personal grudge.

This was a nice story and all but I was more focused on June. She had been trained as a swords woman since a child, and has had real combat experience. That was what I was looking for, someone with the ability to fight.

As my match with the wolf, I noticed that neither Ann nor Hannah has adapted to fighting since they lived rather quiet lives, Ann only being taught how to make better fireballs and Hannah not even knowing she had magic.

"Noble, I would like to request an admission for a magic academy for the three of us." I spoke out, catching the attention of everyone in the table. The noble had an intrigued look on his face.

"Sure, if you can pass their exam then I'll allow it." The noble replied. Earl had a rather upset expression on his face but he said nothing.

We were led to a single room with five beds. Each bed was soft and rather comfortable.

Now that we were in a noble's household and were officially adopted a few hours ago, we have permission to enter and leave the kingdom. Meaning, we can go deeper into forests and find better monsters to feed my power levels. With that, I open the system and browse through the information area.

Here, you can buy things such as information on different countries and even books on skills. Skills, they were obtained as soon as you were born but also can be learned from books. These books are written by people who studied skills extensively, otherwise known as scholars.

Each noble household had different skills, and this house had a few skills of it's own.
