46 10 Days

"Doming, I want you to watch Claridad carefully and report everything to me."

Smith hired a normal villager to keep an eye on Claridad. Doming tilted his head and furrowed his brows with confusion.

"Sir, if you don't mind, can I ask what is it for?"

"It's none of your business. You just have to keep an eye on her, report to me, and you'll get your money. By the way, you shouldn't tell anyone about this... Remember your sick daughter needs the money."

Doming nodded obediently without askibg further.

Thinking about how Claridad lied to him and her expression, he can't seem to have a reason why she did that.

It was obvious that she wasn't at home. Why did she have to lie? And about the guy I saw.... I hope I was just seeing things.... Smith shook his head.

At home, Claridad made a delicious Filipino food for Seikatsu. After dinner, she handed some new clothes to him.

The night was so quite and the moon was shining bright. Everything was peaceful. Before closing the window on her door, Clari took a deep breath of the fresh air.

As soon as she turned back, she was startled by Seikatsu.

"Please don't do that. I told you already, I might get a heart attack.."

"Gomen'nasai..." [I'm sorry] He pulled Claridad in a hug, looked at her face. "...I have something to say."

Clari's heart became uneasy seeing Seikatsu's serious face.

"What is it?"

"Let's sit."

Sitting on her bed, he pulled her closer to him. He run his fingers through her hair. Looking at her bit mark, he suddenly frowned.

"Sore wa watashi no seidesu..[that's my fault..]"

"huh?" She made a questioning sound upon gearing what he said. "What do you want to tell me?"

"10 days... you only have 10 days being... normal..."

Seikatsu can't find the words to explain to her. I should have told her before I bit her. What if she doesn't want to become a vampire and stay as a normal human instead? The antidote isn't here and how should I explain. What if she will hate me? I might ruin her life..

Looking down, negative thoughts are running through his mind. She seems to get his point and smiled at him.

"I understand.. I got your point. I only have 10 days as a normal human and after I'll turn into a vampire.. Am I right?"

Seikatsu was stunned because she doesn't seem like she's angry at him. Her expression was confident.

She held his face making him to face her and said. "It's okay... This way is better because I will have to be by your side for a long time." She smiled beautifully and it made Seikatsu's heart skipped a beat. She was reassuring him that she will never leave his side.
