Giant Rat Evaporation

In this world, a lot of things became dangerous. Plants, animals, and insects are not something human can dominate anymore.

Even if they have powers, these animals also have it. Unlike humans, they also evolve into greater beings.

Rodents are one of the terrifying things in this world. They are capable of digging through concrete like it is nothing. Their tough skin is capable of stopping bullets, and their fur can regulate their warmth even at the coldest winter. Their teeth can easily rend steel, along with their nails.

There are different kinds of rodent monsters in this world. The cooperative ones, the scavengers, and the mad ones.

The mad ones are the second type of worst from the three categories. These rodent monsters are always bloodthirsty, looking for any living things and trying to kill them in droves.

They are unlike Savage Birds who have telepathic connection. The mad rodents are just using their strong sense of smell and instinct to find living beings.

They live as a swarm, destroying everything in their path and turning the flesh of their victims into their food. They are truly terrifying creatures.

Most communities in this world counters these rats using lava or any extremely hot materials. These rats might be durable to cold, but they are very susceptible to heat. Fire is their weakness.

So people make either electrical barriers below ground and electrical fences or walls on their community. If they didn't have that, they will make very durable walls and floors so the rats can't dig through their communities.

There are many ways people managed to create for their safety. It is why they can maintain their communities.

Anyway, these rats are one of the monsters that killed on sight. It is the protocol for any large communities existing in this world.

There is one type of mad rodent that most special forces of this world are scared of facing even in groups. This one is known as the Rampage Rodent.

It is more larger than the maddened rats. It is also three times more stronger than them.

It is capable of slicing through steel, and endure heat as much as it can. Poison, while effective to most of their kinds, are barely effective to this monster.

It can track it's prey for the whole ten kilometers. They can move at speeds that even a race car will leave to shame. Their teeth and claws are poisonous, and can even cause a critical sickness to those who were hit by it.

He is currently fighting against someone like that.

As he runs away to his turrets, the Rampage Rodent is sweeping through his laser turrets like paper. It's claws are rending through them like knife to a butter.

After he got rid of the flamethrower, he can use his full speed to run away. He is inhumanely fast, a speed that can keep up with a speeding car.

That doesn't mean he can outrun the Rampage Rodent. He only managed to get a lead because his defenses are keeping it at bay for a short moment.

So he is having some leeway, looking through his dimensional storage. After going to another bend, he managed to avoid one of it's swipe by an inch of his hair. His hasty steps are nonstop as he tries to run away, take note of it's position, and also operate DF's storage to get some of his guns.

First, he took the GF-100 then took a bit more steps before turning around, his hands prepped for the trigger.

The rat is just done ripping the laser turrets to shreds and is going to charge at him again with a snarl. He narrowed his eyes and grit his teeth.

"Eat this!"

He pulls the trigger and holds it, the muzzle rolling like a gatling gun as it rained glass balls containing flames more hotter than napalm.

The Rampage Rodent faces it head on, smashing through the firebombs without minding the flames it creates. It's skin burns and flames arose on it's face, causing it to be blinded by the fire.

Still, it's charge is not stopping. It is going to ram to him straight like a bull.

Seeing that it didn't work, he quickly turned around a dash away. While running, he throws the firebomb launcher back to the storage and takes another bend, letting his laser turrets to keep it at bay.

The moment he got out of the way and moving to another direction, the Rampage Rodent slams through the wall, laser turret included. Sparks occur through the laser turret it slammed as it tries to shoot it repeatedly.

It isn't doing anything but just causing some small wounds on it's body that is already riddled with many. The laser turret shoots everything until it became inactive as it slams violently on the ground.

On the outside, Neil is letting out curses as he runs straight to the stairs.

"Holy shit! What the fuck is wrong with that guy!?"

He can't believe it. That rat can tank lasers like a chump. It is making him doubt whether it's possible to even kill it.

Lasers can't possibly be endured by an organic creature. Those are concentrated heat energies which can burn the molecules like it is nothing.

He can understand if the one it is shooting is the ground or some sort of metal. Those are totally solid objects. But a flesh and blood creature, it is impossible!

That rat spits on the logic of this world. It's like it is made of titanium or something.

As he got to the stairs, the Rampage Rodent let out another squeak of roar, which reaches his ears. It made him flinch for a bit and almost stumble on his step.

He lets out another curse as he continues upstairs. The rat is following on his tracks.

When he got to the stairs, he quickly operated the dimensional storage and take something within it. This one is the usual cannon he is using. The Evaporator.

It is a cannon capable of deleting particles by it's beam. One of the strongest weapons he have right now.

He turned his attention downstairs and saw the Rampage Rodent just being done on dealing with his turrets. It let out another roar of anger at him, which makes him wince in pain.

"Fucker! Your making me deaf!" He yelled.

The rat didn't care as it begins trying to climb up.

He aimed at the rat carefully who is going to charge forward again. His hand shaking for a bit as he grits his teeth.

It is scary. Seeing a giant murderous rat chasing you on the dark hallways. Still, he is taking off those fear by yelling out curses.

He is also scared on using this weapon awhile ago. He didn't want to shoot it straight in fear of evaporating the walls of this building. The range of Evaporator reaches five kilometers.

So he wanted to shoot it downwards. Which means, if he wanted to use it at the rat, he needed a high ground.

Now that he is on the high ground, he can finally shoot the rat. The Rampage Rodent is also on the perfect position for him to shoot.

"I have the fucking high ground, you bastard!"

As he let out of those curse, he pulls the trigger. The beam of destruction instantly moves through their distance, obliterating the majority of it's body along with the ground on the stairs.

The Rampage Rodent let out a short scream before it got destroyed to nonexistence. Every molecules that made up it's body have been destroyed, never to return to this world anymore. Only the stump of it's feet remained.

Besides it's destroyed corpse is a large slated hole that goes deeper on the ground.

He have used the Evaporator to it's maximum settings, so the destruction is huge. He have become so scared that he thinks that's the only thing he can do to take care of the problem.

He took a breathe, and another as he looks at the wake of destruction that he left.

"... Shit! I thought I was going to die...!"

He takes another breathe, letting the smoke and the stale air to fill his lungs. After exhaling and calming himself, he glances at the large hole on the ground.

"Finally. I managed to beat it!"

He felt elated. That's the first time something so life-threatening has happened to him.

He really thought he is going to die there. He didn't have any confidence at that time, and is just moving through sheer instincts.

He let himself rest for awhile, sitting on the steps on the stairs as he smiles. The other rats seems to be not coming, so he decided to savor this small respite.

"... I have to fix that later..." He said, noticing the large hole he made.

Despite that, he rested here while looking at it. Evaporator set aside on his arm's reach.

He will deal with it later. For now, he wanted to sit and relived his satisfaction at dealing at his first real battle.
