CH 07 ~ Going To Her Company

Alex woke up at eight in the morning. This was the first time he slept for so long.

But he was surprised after waking up as Rennie wasn't in his arms.

He was used to waking up with her on his arms.

Then his blue eyes widened in shock.

'Did she-'

He didn't noticed it yesterday because of Rennie's drunken behaviour and the lights was dim but now that it's morning, he finally noticed it clearly.

The room was decorated very beautifully. Roses and candles was everywhere in the room.

Also a anniversary cake at the tea table, which was made by her.

As it was made yesterday, so the cake was not fresh anymore, but he still took a bite from it as it was made by her.

Then he sighed a little as he felt guilty for forgetting their anniversary, where she remembered and planned it so well.

'I should apologise to her first and then make things clear between us.'

With that thought, Alex jump out from the bed and got ready to go to office.

He thought she was downstairs to have breakfast as she woke up earlier then him and came out to have breakfast but still he didn't saw Rennie.

Which made him frown.

'Did she already went to her office?'

They always had their breakfasts together for the past one year. He was again feeling something was wrong.

"Where's the madam?"

Alex asked the butler.

"Madam left at seven, Master... and she told me to give you this."

The butler was hesitating to give him the papers but eventually he gave it when he personally asked about Rennie.

Alex narrowed his blue eyes a little as he took the papers from the butler and his expression instantly become dark.

'Is she that eager to leave me?!'

Seeing her signature on the divorce papers made Alex's bloods boil and he gritted his teeths.

'I will only sign this damn papers in her dreams!'

Alex tore the papers and throw them into the dustbin.

"..."

'I feel bad for the papers.'

The butler and the maids was speechless.

But seeing that Alex was going out in a rage, the butler remembered that he didn't had his breakfast yet and called him.

"Master! The breakfast-"

But Alex had already left before the butlers words could reach him.

He stepped on the accelerator and started his car to go to her company.

'You are dead today, Ren. How dare you to sign those papers without even listening to my explanation?!'

Alex parked his car infront of her company and got out from the car with a solemn expression.

He knows he was at fault to misunderstood her and prepare those papers out of rage but she should have given him a chance to explain it first before she decided to sign on those papers.

Alex was about to go to the private elevator which directly lead to the CEO's officr with stomping steps but was stopped by the staff, which only angered him more.

"Step aside! I need to see her!"

"President Crawford, you can't go in without a prior appointment! Please understand!"

The female staff spoke politely as she recognised Alex at first glance.

This man often appears on trending news with their CEO.

He is the only man who has been seen beside their CEO a few times as everywhere Rennie goes, she brings a group of bodyguards with her.

Which keeps people ten feet away from her, let alone the chance to approch.

"Tell her to come down then!"

Alex roared at the receptionist, which attracted more attention.

"Our CEO is not in the company. How about you call her personally if it's urgent?"

But as soon as the female receptionist finished her words, the aura around Alex turned more dark.

It's not like he didn't called, but the problem was she didn't picked up a single call which made him impatient.

With her company here, he is sure she won't run away but he can't say that for sure.

Her position in Millicent Corporation is higher then his position in Crawford Corporation.

Right after their marriage, Rennie's father stepped down from his CEO position and Rennie become the new CEO from her president position.

Where, Alex is still the president and his father is the CEO.

So, if she wants, she can easily dump her works on him as a revenge and then ran away, as she doesn't have to report to anyone for her decisions.

"WHERE IS SHE?"

Alex was at his last stage of controlling his anger and the staff's was petrified by his aura.

"S-Sorry but we can't t-tell you that, President Crawford."

"..."

'Even her staffs are as stubborn as her!'

"WHY CAN'T YOU? AM HER H-..."

"PRESIDENT!!!!!"

Before Alex could complete his sentence a impatient voice rang from behind, blocking his sentence.

It was Alexander's chief secretary, Neil Brooklyn.

Neil rushed to Alex and then whispered to him in a low voice that other's can't hear.

"President, They don't know about your marriage with madam. If you expose this right now, not only the madam will hate you, you even have to deal with many things."

"..."

'Yeah, no one even knows that am her husband.'

Previously, they got married in a flash.

Right after Rennie's father gave him the contract, he asked Alex to get the marriage certificate with her.

At that time, Rennie agreed without any question which made him believe she knew about the contract thus she didn't even asked anything to him.

In a fit of rage, he didn't hold a wedding and fearing that it might affect her work, Rennie asked him to keep their marriage a secret.

At that time, Alex was more then happy to hide his marriage which will only last for one year.

There was no doubt that he liked Rennie but that feeling was burried when he was forced to marry her.

If there was no contract between them, maybe he would naturally propose to her one day and hold a grand wedding for her.

But now...

Thinking this all, Alex finaly calmed his mind and let Neil handle the situation.

"Sorry for that, Miss. Our president was only worried about CEO Millicent as she is his very good friend. Don't you know about that?"

Neil tried to make them realise that there is something unspeakable between them and The receptionist looked at him with a weird awkwarness on her face.

'Everyone knows our CEO hates mans. Trending a few times doesn't mean they are dating. Where did this retard came from?'

At the same time, a senior manager came in and whispered to the receptionist.

As the CEO isn't in the company, they can't treat a person like Alex in this way.

They thought of the quickest way to end this matter by a apology to Alex and fix the situation first.

"My sincere apology, President Crawford. We didn't knew you are a friend of our CEO as we never saw you coming here before."

"..."

'Yeah, your CEO always meets me like she is meeting her hidden lover and never let me drive her to the company. How can you guys see me?!'

Alex sneered as he thought about how Rennie would tell him to drop her in a empty road if she ever comes to work by his car.

She didn't want the people to see her coming down from his car and gossip.

"Where is she? Her phone is switched off and i need to see her."

This time, Alex was less aggressive and asked in a calm tone. Which relaxed the staffs and they decided to reveal it to him.

"CEO Millicent is currently in another city branch mall for the new launch of our product."

"Thank you very much... Neil?"

Alex thanked the receptionist and turned to Neil.

"Buy them coffee as a treat for my first visit here."

'I better be in good terms with her staffs, in case a situation like this happens again.'

"Huh? Yes!"

Neil, who was dumbfounded at first happily agreed as he realised his superior's EQ has finally started to develop.

He immediately contacted the nearby coffee shop and ordered the most expensive coffee for everyone.

The staffs refused at first but then seeing Alex's poker face which seem to say 'Dare to refuse?', they stopped and thanked him for the coffee.

With that, Alex left the Millicent Corporation's Headquarters and the staffs sighed in relief.

'But why do we feel that we was bought by a cup of coffee?'

In the car, Alex called Rennie again but it was unreachable.

Alex frowned but then suddenly a idea hit him and he asked for Neil's mobile phone.

"Give me your phone."

"Huh? Here, President."

While giving his phone, Neil suddenly had a bad feeling and didn't wanted to give his phone but Alex snatched it.

As soon as Alex sent the call from Neil's mobile in Rennie's number, the call was sent immediately and he cancelled it.

"..."

Neil could feel the chill coming from backseat and swallowed his saliva in fear as he prayed for his phone.

Then Alex picked up his phone to cheak his social media accounts and found that she blocked him everywhere.

A devilish smile appeared on Alex's face as he picked up Neil's phone again to call her and the call was ringing but she didn't picked it up.

Which meant she really only blocked his number and social accounts.

'So i was right... You blocked me everywhere, Ren! Just you wait till i catch you again!'

Alex clenched the mobile phone tightly and Neil was crying a silent cry...

'President!! If you wanna vent then crush your own phone, not mine!!!'
