"Are you sure that she is your mate?"I asked after regaining my senses. He gave me a pissed of look that was enough to answer my question.

Okay, he wouldn't tell me if he was not sure. I mean that was such a stupid question. Who would be not sure about their mates .

*cough* my mate *cough*.

"David are you really Gay or you lied because you thought you can't flirt with girls?"I asked tapping my chin with my fore-finger.

However his response was violent and he smacked my head. Really hard. Bad joke I guess.

"Ouch! Geez man ! No need to be John cena. You can seriously tell me the truth."I said rubbing my head.

"Elyyyyyyyy, Why the hell Would I lie to you about anything?. This situation is a mess and your stupidity is not helping at all."David said frustated.

Oh I guess, I am saying all these stupid things because my brain cells have been damaged with these past incidence.

Not only my own life but my friend's life has also become some teenage drama with lots of twists and turns.

"I am sorry David . What you told me was very shocking so I talked rubbish. Did you think about your next line of action ?"I asked him. Because no matter what the situation, I didn't want him to do something that would gift him regret in return.

"I don't know. Lia is aware that I am her mate. I would wait and see what she does. " With that David went back to the school and I resumed my journey to

Ryder's place.

I reached my destination and freshened up only to bore myself with homework.

Thankfully , It finished soon and I didn't have anything to do. So I thought to bake a cake for Ryder.I chose the flavour to be strawberry and started my work.

I like to cook in my free time and I have magic in my hands according to my mom.

I called my mom while baking and we joked around about some men hitting on her in Alliance pack. My mom was very beautiful and with werewolf genes , her age didn't show through her body. I didn't blame those people for trying to hit on her. I would love for her to find love again , if it's possible .

Just as I placed the cake on the plate Ryder's voice boomed in the

house.

"I am hungry! And I think I am hallucinating because I smell something delicious. "

"I have something for you hungry Alpha. tan.. tana.." I playfully sang as I placed the plate in front of him and bowed a little.

Ryder hugged me while jumping in happiness and started

digging in.

To be honest , he ate like a hungry pig .He finished the whole cake in mere seconds. He can beat anyone in eating competetion , I swear on everything holy.

Then he realised he had not saved any for me and smiled at me sheepishly.

"Sorry Ely. The cake was so tasty and I didn't realise when I finished it all."he apologised.

"No problem Ryder because it was my late gift for your birthday. "I smiled at him.

"Thanks Ely. How did you know strawberry was my favourite flavour?"He asked me.

"Duh. When you take 40 minutes to choose your ice cream and choose this, I am sure anyone would have guessed that."I teased him and he smiled a little.

The little time I know Ryder I realised , he is a nice guy and deserve happiness in his life.

At that moment I found myself complaining to the moon godess for giving him a mate who does not want to be with him.

That night Ryder helped me in cooking dinner . Well ,basically , he was messing up and I was the one cooking.

We agreed to sleep early because tomorrow we have training after school.

As usual , I went to school with Ryder and he was being super clingy to me.

Time to time he would hold my hands and wink at me. I was completely

annoyed. I had a hunch , he was doing this to make Lucy jealous . But it is not right for me to be with someone who has a mate already and I told it to

Ryder. All that he did was pinching my cheeks and saying "You are so innocent, cupcake. "

That guy seriously has mental issues . Currently I am sitting with others at lunch and Ryder is narrating how I made him tasty foods to eat.

"My cupcake has magic in her hands. That was the best cake I have ever had in my whole life. "Ryder continued and surprisingly there was a scowl on Lucy's face.

I guess she is being influenced by this but trying to control it. But my mate !

Oh God! Does that man ever show any emotion ?

"But Ely never made a cake for us. "Jess complained.

Just great now our mates would be sure there is something between us.

Can't you shut up for a moment Jess ?

"That's because I am special for her, right Cupcake?."Ryder cooed me and I shot him the meanest glare I could muster.

Then a low growl was heard and it was from ALPHA ASHTON.

Am I dreaming? His super angry expression answered me negatively.

The whole table was silent and Lucy too was looking with an expression of hurt?

Due to Ryder or Alpha Ashton I could not decide. After an awkward silence , my friends controlled the situation and Gamma Zion started talking about his

newly found mate Natalia.

After lunch we had only one class today. Now I am going home with Ryder then we will go to the training ground.

Someone called me from behind and I turned to see it's Lia. Wow ! This day is coming out to be the strangest day of my life with Ryder's flirting,my

mate growling and now Lia who never talks to me is calling my name.

Okay let's see what fun is waiting for me.

"Ehh. ...Elena , Can you do me a favour?" Lia asked hesitantly.

"Sure. What can I do to help?"I replied curiously.

"Can you give me David's number?"she said scratching her head. I nodded and gave it to him. Just then the thought of him rejecting David hit my mind .

No that would be horrible!

"Lia, Can I say you Something? "I Called her.

"Yes?"she replied.

"Think before what you do and remember everyone deserves a chance . David is very dear to me . I request you not to hurt him"I said with a smile. Realization hit her about what I am saying.

"Don't worry, I will do what is right. " With that she left. I just hope what is right included David's happiness as well.

I changed into training clothes at Ryder's place and went to the training ground with him . Jess didn't come today as her mother was ill.

This time many wolves were training including Alpha Ashton with his fellows and Lucy was also there. As soon as we reached there , Lucy came to

greet us and took me where Girls were training. I was surprised at her sudden friendliness yet nothing about it was fake , so I just went with the flow.

Then we started doing usual stuffs like weight-lifting,hand to hand combat and running on trade mill. I was feeling tired

today because I had not eaten anything before coming here and didn't have a proper lunch , All thanks to Ryder.

As I was drinking water , I saw Alpha

Ashton and Lucy bickering about something . Curiosity got the best of me and I paid attention to their conversation though I know very well that 'curiousity kills the cat'.

But I am a wolf . So it can't kill me ,right?. Anyway I eavedroped their conversation.

"It's just a run Ashton."Lucy whinned. Jealousy hit me like never before as I realised I have never called him by his name . Then again I will never get the rights to do so.

"Lucy . Don't force me to use my Alpha tone on you. You know it's not safe for you to run alone in a forest. Rouges can be anywhere . If you go , you have to take warriors with you." Alpha Ashton told her with his stern voice.

Lucy glared at him and went to sit on a bench stomping her foot. Alpha Ashton sighed sadly and gave her a helpless look before resuming his training .

I would do anything to earn that care from Alpha Ashton and here Lucy is angry. But my mate was not happy and that bothered me. I thought hard to find a way to help.

Finally I went towards Lucy and sat beside her. She smiled at me and I returned the gesture.

"You look troubled. "I started even though I clearly knew why.

" I want to go for a run and Alpha is not letting me without taking a warrior. I don't want to go with them. My wolf would not be at complete ease with other wolves following me ." Lucy said lookng at her

lap.

" If you don't mind , I can go with you and I will give you your space." I suggested my idea and her face lit up. She hugged me thanking breathlessly and ran to Alpha.

I just hope he trusts me with his 'girlfriend'. But my only intention is to help them , nothing else. After a while Lucy came back with Alpha Ashton and Ryder.

" Why can't I go with them ? " Whined Ryder but shut his mouth as soon as Alpha Ashton glared at him.

" Because Ryder we have some things to discuss about Alliance pack. " He snapped at him to which Ryder rolled his eyes .

"Take care of her and don't go far"Alpha Ashton said in a firm tone And I mentally scoffed thinking how much he cares about me! my sarcastic brain !

"Yes , Alpha" I replied sincerely. Ryder smiled at me and I headed towards forest with Lucy.

we shifted behind a tree wrapping our our clothes to our ankle and started the run. Lucy's wolf was brown in colour and smaller than me slightly. I came to

know her wolf's name was Ana.

Ana was howling in delight and soon Faith joined her. We playfully shoved each other during the run . At that time I forgot how messed up my life

is, how my mate treats me , how broken I am.

May be thats why I call the forest my safe heaven. We run for a while then Lucy's wolf Ana bowed her head signaling that she is done for the day.

Faith nodded and we shifted behind a tree. We agreed to take a walk back home because our wolves retired back to our mind from exhaustion.

As we were heading back ,a strong pungent smell filled the air and instantly I hid Lucy Behind me. Then my suspicion came true when three rogues emerged

out from the forest.

Fear is what I was feeling but I refused to submit . I could practically hear my heart beating hundred times faster as this was the first time I ever faced a rogue.

I tried to use the pack link but mind linking was a tricky thing. You need full concentration to talk through mind which I lacked at the moment. My whole body was shaking with uncertainty and my vision was clouded by fear.

"Capture them. " One of them commanded and in a blink, other two men were behind us holding me and Lucy.

I have to think straight and protect

Lucy. Faith is tired from the run so is Lucy`s wolf . So we have to fight in human forms . I remember my promise to Alpha Ashton.

Oh no!

"Who is the luna of knight pack?" Their leader roared. The realisation that Lucy was their target terrified me to no end.

"That will be me. Let my friend go."I demanded.The leader laughed loudly.The wolf holding me started sniffing me and I was disgusted.

"Yes , Master. She has their alpha's scent on her. " He confirmed. For the first time I qas grateful to Ryder for clinging on to me. Then the leader came forward and slapped me hard enough to draw blood from my lips.

"let my friend go"I yelled.

"Why so rushed , sweet chick ? Let her enjoy the show of your murder." With that he delivered another punch to my stomach. I was seeing stars by now.

Then he cut my arm with a

silver knife to make my healing power slower. That's when Lucy pushed the man holding her , attracting the leader's attention. The man slapped her hard

Which was enough for me to fight back. I kneed the leader in between his thighs and threw dirt in the eye of another man.

I snatched the knife out of his hand cut the neck of the man holding Lucy.

Lucy was in panic so I made her sit behind the trees and the leader dashed towards me. I punched him

hard and stab the knife in his chest. His lifeless body hit the ground and the other man ran away with fear.

After checking the area for clearance , I tried to mind -link Alpha Ashton . Thankfully it worked this time. Lucy was still shaking with fear and her wolf was being restless. I was glad she was not harmed seriously.

I was feeling dizziness coming in waves which I ignored during the fight due to the adrenaline but now My whole body felt the waves of pain hitting every cell of my body.

As we reached the familiar territory, we saw Ryder and Alpha Ashton pacing back and forth. Their eyes fell on us and they went wide.

To my utter surprise Lucy ran in to Ryder's Arms and he tried to console her shaking form . May be it was her wolf who needed the comfort of her mate now.

But what surprised me more was Alpha Ashton didn't seem to be affected by this and rushed towards me. He engulfed me in a tight hug. For the first time , I saw concern and fear in his eyes . That was the last thing I remember , before darkness consumed me .
