2 Tale 2: For love

Once upon a time, there was a very good lady of great faith, and that made her very close to God. She prayed every day, and in her heart the Lord advised her. Her name is Dulce, my mother.

I had not seen her in a while, and on a fine Saturday afternoon, I went to visit her. As we talked at the kitchen table, we had coffee and biscuits. Then, with a serious look, she said to me:

- Ana, pay attention! The Lord is saying that when you are in danger, you have to cry out for the blood of Jesus! People joke about it, but they do not know what they are really doing! Jesus shed his blood on the cross to save our lives! This sentence can only be used in dangerous situations!

"Why is she telling me this?" – I thought in surprise.

She continued:

- Will you remember? – She asked with concern.

- What? – I said impatiently, because I did not understand what she had said and I hardly knew who Jesus was.

- To cry out for the blood of Jesus when in danger! The Lord is saying that it is important that you remember this!

- It's ok! I said to finish the subject off.

We talked a little more, and as it was late, I gave her a kiss, a hug and left.

A few days passed...

I was at home, someone knocked on the door; by the peephole, I saw that it was Luís, my ex-husband.

- What do you want? – I asked, startled.

- I want to talk to you! It's about Victor! – He answered calmly, willing to talk about our son.

Even though I was afraid, I opened the door. I was not going to let him in; I wanted to talk to him right there. I perceived his look of fury, I smelled the drink, he was alienated. Too late! He pushed me inside and invaded my house. He closed the door and held the key in his pocket.

- I will kill you! He shouted furiously, his fists clenched.

I ran, trying to use the phone, but he ripped the wire and pushed me on the couch! He sat in front of me and continued:

- Before I kill you, you will hear me! You will hear everything I have to say!

At that moment, I found out that there are attributes besides being a prostitute.

- How do you say these things to your son's mother? I have never betrayed you!

Hugging a cushion, I cried compulsively. There was a June party in the condo, and the music was so loud that even if I screamed no one would hear me!

I had lost track of time. Suddenly he stood up and said:

- I will drink water.

He walked quietly toward the kitchen. There was only a knife on the table, and a flash of light from the window made it gleam.

- I'll kill you with that knife. – He said calmly and quietly.

He turned to me. He was three steps away. His eyes had an evil glow, a half-mouth smile. He stood still and looking at me, he seemed to plan carefully what he would do...

Oh my God! This is a trap made by the evil: the locked door, the loud music, the knife, a wild man. Everything was contributing to my end...

He returned to the living room and sat down on the couch, in silence. I sat down in front of him, hugged the cushion, looked down and started to cry. I felt cold, very cold, too cold. It was the cold of death! My end was coming...

Suddenly I remembered what my mother had said: "To cry out for the blood of Jesus when in danger!"

I began to pray:

"Jesus, pour out on me your blood, the blood that was shed on the cross to save us! Because your blood has the power: to set free, to save! Jesus, please, I beg you to pour your blood on me, please save me from evil! My son is still young, he needs me! ".

I cried and he continued to threaten me:

- I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill Victor! His coffin will be small! – He showed the size of the coffin with his hands, and continued. - Then I'm going to kill myself! My coffin will be bigger; I want to take my books.

"Oh my God! Look what I have done! I've hurt him so much! I cannot leave without asking for forgiveness!" – I thought regretfully.

Abruptly, he stood up with his arms raised and hands open, then I shouted,

- Forgive me!

He stopped, with his hands near my neck. His eyes were wide like a statue. He was astonished.

- Forgive me! I did not want to hurt you, please forgive me! We have a son! - I begged.

He sat down on the couch, lowered his head between his hands and started crying desperately.

- Forgive me ... – I begged softly.

He began to cry, and went on, and on, and on...

- Wait a minute. – He sobbed.

He got up, walked very slowly to the door and took the key out of his pocket. He sighed, tilted his head back, opened the door, handed me the key and walked away without saying a word.

Quickly I locked the door, leaned against it with arms slightly outstretched. I could not believe what had happened! I almost died...

I called my mother and told her everything. She concluded:

- It was really an evil trap to mow down your life. But when death came, you were covered by the blood of Jesus and it could not touch you. Jesus sent angels to protect you, and evil went away. Can you believe it?

- Yes. - I replied in awe.

- So you have to thank! – She continued to explain. - You have to say, "Thank you, Jesus."

- Thank you, Jesus. – I said, feeling embarrassed, willing to finish the subject off. - See you and thank you for the advice!

- See you and God bless you!

"I hardly know him, and yet He helped me. Why?" - I was intrigued.

And an inner voice answers "For love!"
