Chapter 15 : Waiting for her

In front of S High School.

"Huh, so this is S High School. Not too shabby." Looking at the school building through his sunglasses, Aslan put his finger under his chin.

This school was smaller compared to K Academy which he attended, but Aslan knew that this school was pretty famous as well. He didn't care much, though. He'd be back as soon as he finished his business here.

He leaned his back to the school gate as he observed his surroundings. He deliberately chose the time when school was over to come here. He didn't know if he'd meet that girl or not, but he could spare a few minutes to wait. That girl should be grateful for his generosity. He was quite curious about this school as well.

The students are scattered in the school yard. Some of them are actively doing their club activities, some are happily goofing around with friends, and most of them are walking out of the school gate with their eyes glued to their phones. After familiarizing himself with the view, the first thing Aslan thought was how he didn't like the S High School uniform. He thought it was tacky and gloomy.

Aslan noticed how some students stared at him. He lifted his chin as he ignored the stare. It was just the usual thing for him. He was used to it. Some girls even approached him while flashing their prettiest smile with fluttered eyelashes, clearly seducing him, but he paid no heed to them. Faced with his indifferent attitude, those girls could only disperse with a displeased expression.

"Hmph, who does he think he is? Acting high and mighty like that."

"But he IS a hot guy. And did you see his jacket and shoes? It's a limited edition from that famous brand, Lilion!"

"Is he waiting for someone here? Don't tell me, his girlfriend?!"

"If only I could have a date with him, even just for once, I'd die without regrets. That girlfriend is so lucky!"

Aslan checked his wristwatch, he had waited for 10 minutes already, but there was no sign of that girl.

Or did he accidentally missed the girl? Nah, that can't be. There was no way a girl would miss a fine catch like him standing at such a conspicuous place. He didn't remember that girl's face, but that girl surely remembered his right? She was checking him out so intently that day. A handsome face like his is the only one in the world, how could she miss him?

Another five minutes passed, and Aslan started to lose his patience. He cursed Alex inwardly for giving him such a troublesome task.

He pulled out his phone as he contemplated whether he should contact her or not. If he sent her a message that he found her wallet and was currently standing on the school gate, she'd come, right?

Actually, Aslan wasn't very fond of this idea. He didn't want a further problem to occur. What if that girl fell for him after meeting him and started to pester him? That'll be bad! He'd need to change his number for the umpteenth time, and that's really annoying. It's not the first time something like that happened and he didn't like that idea at all.

However, thinking about his credit card, it seemed he had no choice. It's better to settle this as soon as possible, so Alex won't use this against him later on. No matter what, he had to secure his credit card first.

While grumbling, Aslan fiddled with his phone and found the girl's number sent by Alex. He saved her contact and was about to send her a text when he heard someone calling him.

"Excuse me? Are you waiting for someone?"

Aslan raised his head and found a girl with long blonde hair standing in front of him. She kept her distance from him and gave him a simple smile as if she didn't want to bother him and only asked out of kindness. She wore that tacky white-grey uniform, but she somehow made it looked classy and elegant.

Aslan didn't want to interact with anyone, especially females. However, it might not be so bad to ask this girl about something. She didn't flirt with him like the other girls, and she didn't intrude on his private space as well. Aslan's impression of this girl was pretty good, so he deemed her suitable to have conversation with.

"Yeah. I was searching for a girl, to be exact. I didn't remember her face, but I know her name."

The girl nodded her head in understanding, as she inquired further. "May I know her name? Maybe I could help you to search for her."

"Eirlys Williams." Aslan didn't miss a slight change in her expression as he mentioned that name. He's sure this blond girl knew that Eirlys girl, but he asked anyway. "You know her?"

The girl appeared to think about something, before answering, "Yes, I know her. In fact, she is one of my close friends."

Aslan's brows was raised hearing that news. "Really? That is a coincidence."

"If I may ask, what is your business with Eirlys?"

Aslan narrowed his eyes at her question. He didn't like how interrogative her tone was. She made him feel like he was some kind of suspicious person. He snapped at her. "Not your business."

Contrary to his expectation, the girl only giggled as she smiled at him. "Don't be offended, I didn't mean to doubt you. It's just Eirlys was absent due to sickness today, so she won't appear no matter how long you wait here."

"Is that so?" Aslan's temper was back to normal after hearing that explanation. So, he didn't miss her or vice versa, she was just absent today.

What a bummer. It means he'd need to come here again tomorrow. What if she didn't come tomorrow as well? It'd be a massive waste of time!

The girl saw Aslan's irritation, so she added, "If you can tell me what do you need Eirlys for, perhaps I can help you."

Aslan observed the girl in front of him carefully. He didn't detect any malicious intent from her. She looked like a harmless girl. A beautiful and harmless girl, actually.

It might be fine to leave the wallet to her and asked her to pass it to that Eirlys girl. They were close friends, after all. Their chance of meeting was higher than Aslan kept coming here without plan.

"I coincidentally picked up a wallet that belonged to that Eirlys girl. I know her name and school from her student ID. Can I count on you to pass it to her, then?" Aslan dug out a bluish wallet from his pocket. The color was cute and feminine, something that normally wouldn't come out from a man's pocket.

The girl accepted the wallet from Aslan and opened it. It was indeed, Eirlys's wallet. The girl smiled as she thanked Aslan. "Thank you for returning this wallet. I'll certainly pass it to her later."

Aslan nodded, feeling refreshed knowing his task was done. "Then I'll be counting on you." He turned his heel, ready to leave when the girl called out to him.

"Wait! What is your name? I need to tell her that later!"

Aslan waved his hand without looking back. "No need. No need. Just mention a cool guy from the bus found her wallet and she'd recognize who I am for sure!"

He won't give his name that easily. His name and his number are precious. Aslan walked away with confidence, ignoring other people's stares as if he owned that street.

He didn't notice how the girl's smile behind him slowly faded and was replaced with a cold expression.
