1 Prologue

Once upon a time there was a very special boy who was destined for greatness and that boy, was not me.

You might be expecting some good introduction about someone who would become someone right? Well sorry to dissapoint but this isn't about that. It's about someone who had no one care enough to be given a story so I'll make my own

I'm Red Preage doesn't sound so heroic does it? See even my parents didn't care enough to give me a proper name I bet during my birth my dad was like

"hey so you had a kid what's his name?"

"I just gave birth! Do I look like I'm in any state to think?"

"No but you never usually do but ok I'll name him then, hmmm.....

Wow your dress is so bloody, I got it I'll name him red!"

I guess I should be thankful I wasn't named wet or stinky but I guess its enough about my name let's go to my childhood

Growing up I knew I was an idiot see I had a pretty normal childhood and in this village those with normal childhoods usually become farmers or hunters despite having potential to use magic so yeah idiots.

All due respect to my father, friend's father and practically everyone in this village, you may be idiots but you are the necessary ones that make non idiots feel special, including me ofcourse.

But I didn't know that until he arrived. Prince Silverwrite. damn even his name is royalty, and well basically he was a desendant from the fallen dynasty of Silverwrite which were once the Kings of this realm and what made them so special were their great magic power and not only that but Prince is also a part of the fierce clan of Augus so yeah he was definitely a somebody.

This bastard even has a backstory I don't know of, Silverwrites were once our mighty kings but they had enemies and one of their most powerfull rivals were the Augus clan which were immigrants that came from the hills centuries ago and even through all the kings that have passed they were never defeated. Child of two enemy forces how cliche but damn it its still cool

Prince was admired by the people of this village alot though children like me hated him because of how we'd always be compared by our parents. Freaking good boy don't go giving us problems.

he also has a dream and those ideals and I bet there are many stories about him but I don't care about that, I'm making one about myself and I am definetly not making one because I'm jealous. Like really, believe me! You believe me yet?

I live in this small village of Prond where we are like every other village with people I don't even have to describe all you have to do is go read any other book and think of the insignificant village the hero probably went once and think of this place like that I bet it would be just as accurate.

But ok maybe you don't read or still don't have much idea. Still though I'm honored that someone who doesn't read would go this far and surprised someone would have no idea of a village but ok your not here to make me judge you but to judge me instead so I'll describe it breifly.

Our town mostly focuses on farming and it's not that rich although there are a few noble people here who take advantage of the weak and all that and also judgmental people necessary for creating a good character also merchant's travelling now and then.

Our whole village is mostly comprised with wooden houses and some like mine that would define the very image of every other house ever like roofs made from straw that gives us a shower when rainy days come, rooms divided by thin walls that lets you hear somewhat clearly what the person on the next room says, It's been traumatic next to my parent's room. Hm what else um we got a fence also made of wood, gate made of wood and swords made of wood that my dad would spank me with.

When you enter our village you will be met with a few dirty children playing, If your lucky you might see me there too. As you go beyond towards the center you'll likely pass through some of the travelling merchants who sell all sorts of objects, If you ever see some guy with a mask and a dark trench coat asking if you want to see what he sells, do not I repeat do not look at what he sells! Under no circumstance should you even consider buying it. Do not look! I swear you'll be traumatised for life.

Among the merchants are those selling freshly picked vegetables and hunted animals, Well not really fresh but my mom would kill me if I didn't promote our products. And if your in the mood to go touring I would recommend our tourist attractions like the empty town hall or the wishing well, Careful not to hit the homeless guy below.

Whew that was tiring!

There is also a school here that I attend where we are thought the basics of magic hoping to one day train us to be good wizards and all that. You'd be surprised how little teachers here think their students would be successful.

By this point you'll probably hear.. er read something like I wish to one day be a wizard and save my town but I actually don't have any motivation to do that I'm sure someone will do that for me and lo and behold arrives Prince

He was a transferee who moved to this village after hearing about his father who left him as a child had once lived here. Hahaha idiot must be desperate, why would royalty live here?  Our own villagers don't even want to.

See even in my own story he's got more character development damn I hate main characters. Though being the narrator of this story I'm still a main character but meh i hate myself too.

Prince was very good with magic and also with combat which he uses his clans techniques and with him everyone on the village was happy as he was kind and brave and protected a woman once who was attacked by a goblins which are green human like little jerks who steal and kill inoccent people.

Fun fact about goblins they actually have more organised camps than us! Freaking corrupt politicians putting us in such a chaotic state I mean it's also our fault but what fun would it be to actually do something for once?

Now let's go to me... I am not really good at magic and the only combat I know are probably killing ants or cockroaches which doesn't sound cool I know but if some ants decide to swarm our village I'd be of help. Why am I becoming more and more depressed every word I add to this story?

I didn't even question my life actually. I expected to live life as a farmer marry a girl not beautiful or ugly get children that are the same and die insignificant until one fateful encounter.

Walking in to the forest looking for some firewood I saw a child terrified and in front of him was a bear that our village feared.

It's known as the man eater and no one who ever saw it lived to tell for unlike other bears it was capable of magic and was known to use one of the most powerful elements, dark.

As I was powerless knowing very well if I even tried to help I'd get killed all I could do was watch as the man eater was getting closer to a child who probably is way more terrified than I was.

But Prince arrived and came facing The man eater knowing full well what it could do.

And though faced with the man eater's roar Prince remained in front of the child trying to protect him.

"why?" the terrified child asked Prince why he would help.

"Because I'm a hero!" Prince forced a smile trying to comfort the child.

With his legs shaking Prince said

"Don't worry I'll save you theres no way I'll let this ugly bear kill someone from this village"

The kid although still terrified chose to believe Prince's words and also smiled as well.

As he said that he charged to attack the bear with his knife using what was known as Augus style combat which his tribe was known for but it was useless against a bear with dark power for no physical attack could harm it and a as the man eater counterattacked Prince fell with one swipe and bleeding he looked at the bear with resilience in his eyes as once again he charged.

If this was any other villager they would have died in this point or fled having been attacked but Prince was different as he attacked the bear knowing fully well it was suicide but one of the hero moments began through his bravery, his hand glowed with magic that could triumph over dark, light magic Prince was one of the rare light magic users capable of countering the dark maguc that could not be harmed by anything else.

Prince raised his hand up and as if creating glowing fragments a great glowing ball was created being as big as a normal tree and as he released it a flash blinded my eyes.

When I regained my sight I saw that both Prince and the kid's wounds were healed and the bear out of sight like a shadow disappearing because of light.

Amazed by Prince's power I gasped and Prince noticed me and approached.

"You were here?!"

I was shocked and speechless having no comprehension of what happened

"I hate people like you! Cowards who does not care for the weak being oppressed!"

"I... was...scared"

Hearing my reply he was annoyed, he took me by the shirt and picked me up.

"You were scared?! Well so was he! So was I! It's scum like you who don't do anything that's the worst! You are nothing! You are insignificant!"

He shaked from anger but regained his composure and let me go, and with one look of disgust he left.

Insignificant huh, I guess that was really what best described me but he didn't understand I never wanted to be weak, I never chose to be insignificant. I was not like him that was chosen or powerful, I'm just me.

I remember fully well that night I stayed in the woods crying, promising to myself that never again would I be weak or insignificant. I'm going to be someone who surpass all the heroes that came before me or will ever come.

And as Prince came back to town celebrated with a feast for his heroic deeds I was left in the dark woods thinking about everything that I had done and failed to do.
