7 Chapter 7: Escaping

Several men rushed in Cairo's direction with weapons in their hands. Seeing this, Cairo's heart beats faster than before and his body exploded with power

Cairo doesn't know why but whenever he was in a dangerous situation like this, his survival ability increases. As long as he wasn't overcome with fear, his mind will be able to think smartly for a way out while his body will explode with more power

The kid waved his hand and the control he has over the sands around him received an explosive growth. Cairo still doesn't have the ability to control too many grains of sand but he made a smart action at that time

Cairo uses the limited sands he can control and spread them in a wide area. The slaves coming to him immediately stopped as the sands went inside their eyes

Tears literally fell from the muscular slaves' eyes and that gave the townsmen time to kill them. Without their sense of vision, how can these slaves protect themselves?

"Kill!" The townsmen shouted and their attacks were filled with even more ferocity. The bloodlust of both sides reached the peak, the only thing in their mind now was to kill!

Unknowingly to him, Cairo's actions made the townsmen more pumped up. They saw that he 'helped' the chief kill the slave trader and even rendered the fighting abilities of several men to zero

This made the morale of the townsmen to increase and they started thinking of him as an important asset. Cairo doesn't care about that though, his only goal is to survive

Cairo's judgment wasn't clouded by his fighting intent, people like him are rare among the townsmen and only a few people can see the bigger picture

The townsmen might have the morale but the slaves are much stronger than the average townsmen. Morale is important in a 'war' but it was not everything

In front of absolute strength, bare morale is useless. Cairo saw some of the smarter townsmen looking around them and the kid knows what they were looking for as he was trying to find the same thing

The more time that passed, the more people were killed. That means, there are lesser slaves that will prevent anyone from fleeing

The people that were consumed by fighting intent did their best to fight while the ones that weren't were finding a way to flee

One man finally found an opening and poured all of his strength into running. Too bad that he was discovered by one of the mages

The mage controlled the sands below that man causing him to trip. Seems like it is not only those smarter townsmen that can see the bigger pictures. The smarter slaves, especially the mages can see it too

These slaves need to kill as many townsmen as possible, they cannot let any of them flee. The slave trader was killed, how can these slaves 'explain' themselves to people that don't even think of them as humans?

If they head back with lesser corpses then their future is unknown. No townsmen can flee, every one of them must die!

Cairo gripped his knife tightly. It is not going to be easy to flee especially since the townsmen's number is rapidly decreasing

The youth's mind thinks for a way again before his eyes locked in one of the lone mage watching from afar to prevent anyone from escaping

Soon, a plan formulated on Cairo's mind. Instead of running towards the area with no slaves, Cairo charged at one of the mages!

The mage seeing the cause of the chief's death raised his guard. This youth was too 'vicious' and 'scheming', he can't lower his guard

What the mage doesn't know though was that being this cautious will enable Cairo to escape. The youth doesn't know much things yet but his mind will instantly become smarter when pushed to a dangerous position and he can think of a plan with the limited resources he has

Two balls of sands rose from the ground and the mage was ready to attack Cairo with it but the kid's next actions made him raise his guard even higher

Cairo put his hand inside his clothes and used it to mask his actions of taking something from his spatial ring

Several nutrient pills appeared on Cairo's hand. The youth felt pain in his heart as even just one of these pills can last him for a day. The only fortunate thing was that he has a lot of it and he can use it to save his life tonight

"DIE!!" Cairo shouted and form a crazed and desperate expression on his face before throwing the pills in his hand to the mage

Just like what Cairo expected, the mage's heart trembled at his actions and the mage controlled as many grains of sand as he can to make a sand wall that protected himself

As soon as the mage did that, Cairo became relieved and run as far away as he can. However, Cairo is still a kid, his plans are excellent but were still full of loopholes

Cairo forgot that he gained a lot of attention in himself earlier and several people were eyeing him. One of the slaves saw his actions and threw a dagger in his direction

The kid was clueless at that and just continued running. The next thing he knew was that a pain traveled from his shoulder to his whole body

Cairo can feel some sort of sticky and red liquid flowing out from his shoulder. When he looked at it, Cairo saw a dagger embedded in his shoulder and it was bleeding a lot of blood

The pain and shock cause Cairo to lose his balance and he fell to the ground. The impact made his wound to bleed further and some sands even went to his wound making it more painful

Cairo's face paled at this. It was painful! Too painful! He already felt pain before from hunger and punches but this wound is on another level

Due to how skinny he is, Cairo felt that the knife must have hit his bones too. Cairo tried standing up while sweating heavily from the pain

No matter how painful it is, Cairo still wants to survive! Tears fell from his eyes as he forced himself to move but the trembling of his body made it hard for him to do that

Cairo hears the sound of close footsteps and saw two people near him. One was standing in front of him while the other is behind him. They were the mage and the man that threw the knife at Cairo

The kid felt despair but he desperately pushed down the negative thoughts circulating in his mind to think. However, this time, no matter how hard he thinks, Cairo doesn't know how to save himself in this kind of situation

Even if he uses magic, one of the men is a mage too and his sands can easily be blocked

Cairo met a dead end, fortunately for him, the diamond in his soul glowed with a dim light. He felt like time itself stopped and a short memory was directly transmitted in his mind

Unlike the other times that Cairo watched the memories, this time, the memories were directly ingrained in his mind. The memories were sent to Cairo's brain as if he really experience it

"Is this the old man's gift to me?" Cairo thought in his mind. Before, Cairo thought that having access to the memories of him in his past life and the spatial ring was the old man's only gift to him

However, it seems like that was not all!

The memories spread from Cairo's brain to his body. It still wasn't the same as Cairo personally doing it but his body is now a bit familiar to the memories of the past him

At a speed that Cairo doesn't know he has, he raised his hand and grabbed the first body parts that he can from the two people that want him dead.

As the kid is small and he is even in the ground, what he touched was the men's family jewel. Cairo doesn't care about it though and he immediately did what the past him did

As soon as Cairo touched the humans, he can faintly feel the circulation of blood in their bodies. Cairo speedily worked to inject mana from his hands and agitated the blood of the two men

The eyes of the two widened as their family jewels suddenly felt painful and they lose the ability to move. Cold sweats formed on their forehead and strength instantly left their bodies

The two immediately fell to the ground while writhing and shouting in pain. They can even feel that their junks were bleeding

Cairo breathed heavily after what he had done. One of his attributes was blood magic and he just used them in the two slaves. He made the blood circulation in their bodies to turn violent

If not for the memories, Cairo wouldn't be able to do something like that. The kid felt a mountain tall gratitude for the old man. If not for him, Cairo wouldn't have access to the memories of him in his past life. Without the memories, then Cairo would have surely died today!

Cairo ignored the pain in his shoulder and started running desperately. Fortunately, the other slaves lowered their guards at seeing two of their comrades was about to kill him

That gave Cairo a chance to flee. His mind was filled with the desire to run away. Even if he helped the townsmen to kill the slaves, Cairo is almost a hundred percent sure that the townsmen would still fail

Cairo doesn't want to gamble his life in something that has a low chance of survival

Cairo runs and runs and he exited the town. He wandered aimlessly without any idea where he should go. Cairo even forget the fact that traveling in this endless desert is dangerous and he can meet magic beasts on his way

However, even if Cairo remembered that, he would still do the same. Staying in the town means definite death. Cairo would at least have a slim chance of survival if he doesn't stay in that town

The youth's legs and lungs started giving him a burning sensation. His legs want to rest and his lungs want him to catch his breath but Cairo didn't stop

His vision was already blurry from the lack of oxygen but he desperately clings to the hope of surviving if he managed to run as far as he can from that doomed town

Cairo almost cannot see anything thing now and he didn't notice the people in front of him. The kid was about to slam his body in this group of people when an old woman waved her hand

The sands in front of Cairo covered his lower area and that forced his body to stop running. As soon as he stops, Cairo took a deep breath and his vision started returning back to normal

Even when Cairo still hasn't fully recovered, he can already see several people sitting on camels' backs. Most of the men are wearing armors while the others have other kinds of defense on their bodies

That immediately made Cairo panicked. After all, he has done his best, yet he was still captured by the enemies?

No! Cairo refused to die or become a slave! He wants his life to be in his own hands. No one can ever decide his life or death for him!

Cairo tried using the little mana remaining in his body to remove the sands binding him but it was ineffective. He is already weak even at his top condition but now, he is even weaker

"No! No! I won't let you make me a slave or kill me!" Cairo shouted savagely at the top of his lungs. He looks as if he was losing his mind as he thrashes around

Too bad that it was ineffective and the sand was still binding him. Cairo only calmed down a little when an old woman speaks

"Child, no one here is going to kill or make you a slave"
