19 Kalisa And Milly

It was a beautiful Monday morning, the sky was downcast with mild rain clouds, making the weather a little cozy. Kalisa sauntered out of bed to her window, pushing it opened. She inhaled the fresh breeze and sighed with a radiant smile dancing merrily on her face.

Finally, she got her parents to buy her thoughts of staying back to continue her schooling. Everything felt like her greatest achievement in life and a dream come true. That might sound absurd but not to Kalisa. Someway, somehow, the atmosphere looks surprisingly beautiful than usual.

All the same, she still had her brother to thank for because, if not for his persistent convincing pleas to their parents and making them understand better the need of having her stay; there was no way their parents were going to allow her.

But then, seeing him gloomy lately was so disheartening and that's when she decided to do something to help him. Getting Tiara's details and knowing her schedules were her first step.

And come to think of it, she was fortunate enough to find out that Tiara was a senior in her University. All things being equal, today is her first day in her uni and she got to seize all the chances she could get in order to have her brother and Tiara meet. All these and many thoughts running through her mind made her stared calculatingly in space.

The click of the door opening made her turned deftly towards it.

"Oh Milly, it's you."

"Good morning Miss Kalisa." said her personal maid, standing halfway through the door.

"Good morning," she murmured, sauntering back to her bed and sat down. "Come on in."

Milly entered, slowly closing the door behind her. She stood a step away from Kalisa's bed with her hands clasped in front of her. "Need anything Miss?"

"Uh....here is the thing. There is these two people I know who loves each other but are not ready to accept their true feelings for each other. Things have gone so bad between them that one person has refused to see the other. What do you think I should do?"

"Hm...., well..." she mumbled, tactfully analysing things when the mini clock sitting on Kalisa's desk rang; making Kalisa jolt up from the bed, suddenly remembering that she has a class to attend.

"Oh shit! Why didn't you tell me it was getting late?" she kept complaining as she rushed towards the washroom not wasting another second.

Milly chuckled, watching her back fade into the washroom still murmuring. Not long has Kalisa entered that Milly heard the sound of the running water pattering hard on the tiled floor.

"Is Andy gone already?"

"Yes, he said he has an early meeting today but promised to pick you up after school. Your parents also have a business conference so they have left but don't worry they've had everything sorted out already."

Kalisa scoffed, returning from the washroom. "That's good anyway, I want to maintain a low profile."

"Ah– about that."

Kalisa waited patiently with her ears on edge for what Milly was about to say next as she scanned through her wardrobe for something to wear. She didn't want to look too formal, just a casual outfit. What good are teen memories without some fun? She grinned, picking up a short skit coupled with an off-shoulder top. "Guess this will do."

She glanced back at Milly who was still brooding on how to let out whatever information she was holding. "Thought you were saying something?" she asked.

"Ah, yeah." Milly mumbled, strolling over to where Kalisa stood. Milly has been Kalisa's personal maid for 4years now and since they're all of the same age, their relationship is more of a sister-friend than a madam servant. But Milly never seize aside formalities. Kalisa hate it though but Milly insists on it. Moreover, the Richardson took her in at a very young age; taking care of her education among others and she in turn have been working for them since as Kalisa's maid.

"Well–, your parents agreeing to have you stay back for your education has strings attached to it you know." said Milly.

Kalisa glanced at her titling her head mimickly as she got into her cloths. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Just say what you want to say."

Being given the go ahead, she sat on the bed with a sharp sigh. "Your parents enrolled me into your uni to keep an eye on you and also assist you."

"Oh okay, I get....Huh?" Kalisa mumbled without a second thought but then gasped, suddenly being stroke with the reality. "They what?"

"So do you wanna go or not? Because you're already running late."

"Okay–" she picked up her bag and they both rushed out of the room. "Do you think it's gonna rain?"

"No, the rainy clouds are already disappearing." Their voices echoed through the corridors as they glided down the stairs. They got outside to meet her driver waiting for them. They settled in the back seat and he sped off.

As surprising as it could be, Tiara has managed to keep away from Andy for a week now since the incident at the dinner. She avoids his calls and whenever he comes to the house too, there was no sign of her. Staying away from him has made her realized that she has started developing feelings for him but then, there is a vast difference between them. There was no way such emotions can exist between them so she choose to do the disappearing. God knows when she was going to keep up with it.

At Millennium University, lessons had already started for the seniors. Both Tiara and Fabulous had Critical Thinking as their first lesson for the morning.

It's been 30mins already since lectures began. Fabulous have been glancing at Tiara for a while now and has noticed that she has been staring absent mindedly in space. Being sure that the lecturer was not paying attention to them, she nudged her. "Hey, are you okay? You've been absent minded in class. Are you not feeling well?"

Tiara nodded in response, turning her focus to the lecturer as she snapped out of her thoughts. Fabulous stared skeptically at her and shrugged, turning her attention back to the lecturer and what he was saying.

The rest of the lessons went on with Fabulous stealing glances at Tiara; making sure she was paying attention.

Within the next hour, the bell rang for change lesson. Tiara and Fabulous packed their books into their bags and sauntered out of the class.

"So can you tell me now what's wrong with you? You look so out of space today." questioned Fabulous as they headed to their next class.

She sighed about to say something when the sight of a familiar figure caught her attention. "Is that not Kalisa?" she queried quizzically.

"Kalisa? Who is Kalisa?"

"Yeah." she turned her attention back to Fabulous for a short while as she tried to explain things to her. On the other hand, Kalisa and Milly were busily disagreeing on God knows what. Kalisa sighed, staring straight into Milly's face quiet pissed.

"Can we stop talking about this now?"

"Okay–" Milly raised her hands dramatically in the air. "As you wish."

Kalisa without another word, scoffed; hurrying off to find her class before lectures began. Milly chuckled, slightly shaking her head as she went after her.

"Oh...I see. So where is she?" replied Fabulous after hearing from Tiara who Kalisa was.

she turned pointing to the direction where she saw her. "Over there...." she murmured but to her surprise, there was nobody there. She scanned their surroundings for any sign of her but it was like she just vanished into thine air.

Fabulous stared at where Tiara point but found no one there. "I don't see anybody there. Are you sure you're okay Tiara? Do you want me to take you to the infirmary or something?"

"No Fab, I'm fine." she glanced around once again, confused. "Let's go." she nudged Fabulous and they continued on their walk.

The rest of school hours went by with no special happenings except the usual lectures, projects and exercises. Soon, it was closing. Kalisa stood at the main entrance of the school with Milly beside her looking disappointed as they wait for her brother to pick them up.

"Cheer up Miss Kalisa. You can still find her tomorrow."

"You don't understand Milly, I have to do this for my brother."

"I know Miss but..."

Just then, Andy pulled up in front of them. He called out to them to get in but then noticed her sister's mood. "hey..Kali." he mumbled worriedly, rushing out of the car. "What's wrong with you? Are you hurting somewhere?"

"No."

"Sure?" he queried, critically examining his sister.

School was over though but Fabulous and Tiara still had a part time job to attend to. They sauntered through the hallway to the corridors chatting wittily as they made their way out of the building. From the way Tiara was talking, everything was clear to Fabulous that she was much better. They were about to glide down the stairs in front of the building when Tiara spotted Andy and her sister with one lady Kalisa's age.

"Oh shit!" she loud whispered, instantly stopping in her tracks. she held her friends hand as she turned deftly about to escape from the scene but unfortunately for her, Kalisa saw them.

"Oh Tiara!" she called, bringing her to a halt as she involuntarily closed her eyes; slightly biting on her lips.

She slowly turned to their direction with a sheepish grin on her face.
