What’s Rightfully Ours

As Peter walked through the buzzing city he had finally made it to the place he was looking for.

"You have arrived at your destination." Friday's voice resounded, monotonously.

'Just do as we rehearsed. Just get to the reception and let me take over.' Noah spoke, watching through Peter's eyes.

Peter took a deep breath in, before closing his walking stick and walking up the flights of stairs. Even though he could see things in black and gray, the resolution and definition of objects and people weren't as good as when Noah took over. Therefore, he kept his bandage on and continued using his walking stick.

When Noah took over, mana would travel to his eyes making them glow purple - this extended the range of his vision temporarily. Of course, Peter still had to learn a lot of things, mana control and manipulation being one of those many things.

"Excuse me, young man. Are you lost by any chance?" The guard at the glass doors queried, eyeing the bandage and walking stick in Noah's hands. The guard was a well-built mountain of a man, with a shiny bald head.

"I'm here to withdraw some money, thank you for asking." Noah smiled politely, trying to get past the broad man but he was stopped in his tracks.

"I don't think you are old enough. Please come back with your parents or guardian."

Noah kissed his teeth in annoyance, 'Brother, let me handle it. This guy will never learn.'

Like a switch had been flipped, Peter and Noah switched places. The guard raised his eyebrow, feeling the blind boy's whole demeanor change.

'Where have I felt such a strong pressure from a boy like him before?' The guard pondered feeling a sense of deja vu.

"Mr Jackson. Please let me enter, otherwise, I will expose you to the internet how you're playing 6 women at the same time. Martha… Kate… Oh, wait, what was the other one's name? It doesn't matter. I know your wife Betty won't be happy, that's for sure." Noah smiled, causing the bald man to sweat profusely.

"Okay! Okay! I'll let you enter. You damn fiend, how do you even know this stuff?" The Bald guard immediately moved out the way and opened the glass doors of the Bank to Noah.

"The reception is straight ahead. Enjoy your time." The guard grumbled one last time, closing the glass doors as soon as Noah entered.

'Mmh, the fresh smell of credits. It's good to be back. Let's go grab my secret stash of things shall we?' Noah spoke, letting Peter take control again. Every time they switched control, the stigma's mana reserves would decline at a rapid rate, so they both decided it was better to switch only in desperate times.

Peter strolled towards the reception and waited in line.

Noah had hid a lot of resources and credits as a saving. Now that he was back it was ideal to move all the credits and secret things, all under Peter's name. In fact he was going to give most of the things to Peter anyways whilst he was alive but time didn't allow him to pass everything down. Now that he was back, the first thing he would do was increase his brother's cultivation resources, allowing for rapid growth.

Whilst Noah was alive, he had managed to reach the Proficient stage in 2 years; this was a monstrous cultivation speed, which showed his prodigious talent. Now it was time to pass on all the remaining resources he hid to his brother.

"Good Afternoon. How may I help you?" The receptionist asked, eyeing the peculiar blind boy in front of her.

"I would like to access account number 462693321." Peter spoke confidently, voicing everything Noah was telling him to say in his mind.

The sound of a keyboard working away resounded for a couple of seconds along with the sounds of mouse clicks, till the receptionist spoke again.

"This account is a VIP account, you must answer some specific security questions before you are allowed access to it. If you get a single one wrong, I will have to deny you access."

"That's fine."

The receptionist pressed a button causing a blue barrier to erect around them. The truth was that she was actually just a robot, tasked with handling people's needs in the bank, so answering the security questions to her worked perfectly.

"The first question is: 'What is Noah's favorite color?'"

'Come on Peter, you should know this one.' Noah smiled.

"Black."

"Correct. Next question: 'Who was Noah's first crush?'"

"He never had a crush."

"Correct. Last question: 'Who is Noah's most favorite person in the world?'"

Peter smiled hearing that question and waited a couple seconds before answering, "Peter Magtris."

"Correct. You now have access to VIP bank account no. 462693321. Do you want me to read out the assets held under this account?"

'Well that was easy.' Peter smiled.

"Yes please."

"Noah Magtris's account holds a total of 486,000 Credits. The resources include: 1 <B Grade> Cultivation necklace, 2 <C Grade> Dimension Rings, 1 <B Grade> Sword, <C Grade> Enchanted Boots, 23 Minor Mana Potions, 5 Major Mana Potions, 17 Minor Health Potions, 3 Major Health Potions, 146 Novice Mana Crystals, 45 Proficient Mana Crystals and a <E Grade> Mask."

Enchanted equipment and resources were ranked with letters, the order of importance descending in this order:

<Legendary Grade>

<S Grade>

<A Grade>

<B Grade>

<C Grade>

<D Grade>

<E Grade>

'Brother. You were decked out, what the h*ll.' Peter couldn't help but gulp, trying to fathom how much this all would be worth in total. Just the potions on their own would result in several Hundred thousand Credits.

'Make sure you wear the Cultivation necklace straight away and bind it to you. It was given to me when I reached the Proficient Rank but I never had a chance to bind it to myself. Now it's yours.' Noah spoke in Peter's mind.

'What does a cultivation necklace help with?' Peter couldn't help but ask, he hadn't learnt about them and any unknown information intrigued him.

'A cultivation necklace is enchanted with powerful inscribed runes that help in absorbing mana for one's cultivation. It purifies the wearer's mana constantly and also helps in regenerating mana autonomously.

'You'll feel the sudden change when you put it on. They're also extremely expensive and this necklace should even help you till you reach the Expert Rank.' Noah explained perfectly, without stuttering, expressing his deep knowledge about cultivation.

"Okay, I want to transfer all of the credits in this account to Peter Magtris's account. The account number is 45567698."

"Movement of 486,000 Credits has been confirmed."

"Can I also transact all of the resources held please?"

"As you wish." The receptionist clicked her fingers and all of the resources appeared on the desk in front of Peter.

"Friday, transfer everything here to my storage space in the bracelet please, apart from the Cultivation Necklace."

"Movement has been completed." Friday's monotonous voice rang, as the desk in front of Peter had become empty again.

Peter felt around and grasped the silver necklace.

'How do I bind myself to it?' Peter asked, mentally.

'Concentrate some mana into your fingertip and press the necklace.' Noah answered.

The Blind boy did as his brother told him and suddenly a warm feeling washed over his body. Mana was constantly being pulled towards the necklace at a standard rate, passing through the necklace and into his body.

'This… This is amazing.' He couldn't help but feel amazed by the artifact around his neck.

"Thank you for everything, that will be all." Peter smiled at the receptionist signaling the end of his purpose of visit at the Apex Bank.

He turned around and left, richer than ever, happier than ever…
