Closer to the Dreams

Now, once again, Dylan had stepped in to help her like he always used to do.

"See, babe, I know you don't want to accept any kind of help from me but I can't see you give up." He had said with so much emotions that Fay had almost cried. "It has been your dream since forever. And even I can't help you directly, I will do something indirectly."

Fay was confused and asked him what he could do. She would nowhere accept his father's help because he already disliked Fay because she was Asian.

"What can you do about it, D?"

Dylan had smiled mischievously. "Well, the shareholders had a board meeting recently and they want to open one branch of our production house in Asia seeing that Asian movies and dramas work so well in the industry. So I thought why not set it up in Beijing?"

Fay could only gawk at him. He would really do so much for her? "But D, it's still your dad's company. I won't take any role offered by Glory House Productions."

Dylan had expected that so he put forward his main plan. "I knew you wouldn't. That's why I have another plan."

"And what's that." Fay asked, a little curious to know what he had on his mind.

"Well, you see, many people who come to the entertainment industry don't always get successful so they accept whatever they are offered to. Some become make-up artists after doing a course on cosmetology, some become costume designers while some become managers. It keeps them closer to their dreams they could ever be."

"I knew you won't take any role in movies or dramas so here's a suggestion. Why don't you become a manager for one of our artists and when auditions for them are lined up, just put in your name too. You'll surely get your debut soon."

Fay's face lit up with excitement which soon faded. "But won't that be against the contract? Managers aren't supposed to take on artists job."

Dylan smirked. "My company, my contract rules. So you in?"

Fay thought for a while. It was true that many people who were unsuccessful in landing any acting role took up on small random jobs to be as closer to the screen as they could. She won't be first and she surely won't be the last.

After much thought, she finally agreed. "Okay. So who do I have to manage?" She asked with a small smile of hope that maybe her dreams would come true soon.
