Potion Class.

The bones family being one of the most influential families in the ministry, had a lot of power in their say. So when they refused to join the dark side during the war, they were almost all murdered by Voldemort. With only a few of them remaining, it wasn't a surprise for Susan to bore hatred against all these families who were the reason Voldemort stood so strong.

Miles knowing her worries grabbed her hand firmly as he led her towards the Slytherin table. The Slytherins first wanted to say something as a Gryffindor coming towards them wasn't really a pleasant sight but when they saw it was Miles they didn't say anything and decided to wait and see. Though some of them were stupid, all of them at least knew that making an enemy without any reason wasn't really the smartest thing to do, especially when the other party was still from a pure-blood family.

Some of them who knew about the Rakepick family or heard about them through each other knew that they were the kind that will only fight back once provoked. It was known that even the Dark Lord himself didn't provoke the Rakepick family even towards the end so as to not create an enemy he couldn't handle during that moment and as he expected the Rakepick family didn't join in on the fight as well.

"So how's it going for the boy who lived?" Miles asked sitting next to Harry as he patted his shoulders, "Not too well as far as I can see."

Harry sighed as he chuckled a little, "I don't feel like I belong here but here I am."

"I know what it must feel like." Susan said grabbing Harry's hand, "It must be really unusual to sit around people who don't have the best interest of you in their mind."

"You are?" Harry muttered still uncomfortable with the sudden touch.

"I am Susan Bones." Susan said blushing slightly as she fixed her hair, "I am from Hufflepuff and am childhood friends with Miles."

"I see." Harry nodded, "I am Harry Potter."

"I think we all know that." Susan giggled a little, "But it must be hard for you, right? Making friends and stuff when all of them... well not all of them but most of them were part of you-know-who's scheme."

Harry shook his head as he looked at Pansy, "It's alright, I guess. I at least know that not all of them are completely like that."

Miles looked towards where Harry was looking at as he called them over as well.

"Good morning!"

"Morning!"

"It's a really good morning, isn't it?"

Pansy, Daphne, Draco, and Blaise came over greeting them while Daphne and Blaise just nodded at him.

"Did you hear, Draco and Potter, here are roommates?" Pansy said as she buttered her toast.

"Harry would be fine." Harry stiffly said, suddenly being surrounded by people he didn't know about.

"He's nothing impressive for the person who defeated, you-know-who."

"Neither are you!" Harry snapped back, "For someone who calls himself the heir or whatever it is."

"You..."

"Glad to see you two getting along." Miles said looking at the interaction between the two, "Just don't kill each other off and you two should be fine."

"Don't encourage it!" Susan said.

"Let me introduce you to my friend, Susan Bones." Miles said, "Though I am sure you all already know each other."

All of them nodded as they weren't really friends at all. Though they attended different social gatherings together, both of their crowds didn't really mix in too well.

"Well, I am getting late for my classes. So I'll leave first." Susan said standing up, "See you around, Harry."

Miles looked back at the girl as he rolled his eyes, "So since all of us have classes together, who are you teaming up with?"

"What? in Potions?" Pansy asked, "I am hanging onto Blaise at least he is good with it.

"Then, I'll hang with Ms. Greengrass and Draco and Harry could team up together," Miles said making both Draco and Harry uncomfortable.

"Why do I have to do potions with him?"

"I'd rather have you be my partner."

"Too bad, I have already decided to team up with Ms. Greengrass over here and since you both are going to share the room for 7 whole years, rather get along now." Miles said, "And remember Draco what I said on the train."

"But..." Draco muttered as he snorted, "Fine!"

"Aren't you going to ask Daphne's permission?" Pansy asked as she knew the Ice Queen would rather sit alone than share her table with others.

"I am fine with it." Daphne spoke making Pansy a bit shocked.

"See, everyone's good with it." Miles said, "You will be okay with it, right Harry? You should know that the Gryffindors have already formed their partners as well."

Harry who didn't really have any friends had to agree as he knew Miles was trying to help him get along with others as well. Also, there wasn't much he could do about it as well since the other Slytherins wouldn't even talk with him at all.

Moments later they all headed towards the Potions class, which took place down in one of the dungeons. It was colder here than up in the main castle and would have been quite creepy enough without the pickled animals floating in glass jars all around the walls.

"You can call me Daphne," Daphne said as she entered the class with Miles.

"Sure if you like that but I heard that you don't like being called that without permission, first."

"You're interesting enough, so you get a pass." Daphne said, "Since we are going to be working together in potions from now, I hope you're at least good with it."

"Don't worry, I have been brewing healing potions since I was five, how hard could all of it be."

Snape entered the class like the bat he is, his long robe fluttered all the way to the front of the class. He looked back at all of them and started the class with a roll call. As he stopped once at Harry's name and then at Miles as he turned to look at them each time.

Snape finished calling the names and looked up at the class. His eyes were black and cold the ones that made you think of dark tunnels.

"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potionmaking," he began. He spoke in barely more than a whisper, but they caught every word -- Snape had the gift of keeping a class silent without effort. "As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death -- if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach."

More silence followed this little speech.

"Do you think he will marry a potion if he could?" Miles whispered making the group around him chuckle a little.

"Rakepick!" said Snape suddenly. "What would I get if I added the powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

Miles scratched his head trying to remember, "Um, The Draught of Living Death."

"Where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

MIles pointed at the cupboard as the students could barely contain their laughter.

"5 points from Gryffindor for acting cheeky." Snape said frowning, "Where would you get it in the wild?"

"Oh! you should've said so, Professor." Miles acted as if he wasn't joking before, "I know this, from a goat's stomach."

Snape's frown couldn't be deeper, "What is the difference, Rakepick, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

"Aren't they the same?" Miles asked back.

"Another 5 points from Gryffindor," Snape said as he stared at Harry with a snort, "I'd love to go on about this but I can't expect you to know all after all not everyone in my house is perfect."
