Prologue: Death and Rebirth

Darkness.....

Wherever he look at, he sees nothing except darkness. Although he find it strange, he couldn't put his mind into what really is happening, all he can remember is that he died and....

"WAIT! I'm DEAD?!!"

He was shocked to his very core when he realized this point. But then he pondered why he still has his consciousness.

"But why am I here?"

He started thinking about a solution but since he was still here and not dead yet he just shrugged it all off.

"A carefree attitude eh?"

A magnified voice was suddenly heard startling him into standing up, although he doesn't even have any feet or something.

"Who are you?" He asked cautiously. It is not like everyday you will a voice inside your head.

"Who am I is not important. What matters is that what will happen to you." The voice can be heard everywhere making it loud and clear.

"To me? What do you mean?" He decided to just listen to what the voice has to tell him, he have nowhere to anyways.

"What do you think will happen to you after you die?" The voice suddenly asked him.

"They reincarnate . . . right?" He was not even sure to himself.

Although he heard a lot of stories that when a person dies they will reincarnate or transmigrate to another body. But even so, that was all in the story, it has never been proven true, at least until now.

"Yes. They will reincarnate and enter a new cycle of life. Where they will have their memories erased and continue to live normally."

When he heard this, it seems to be pretty reasonable so he didn't denied what the voiced said.

"But for you. Things will be different." The voice suddenly said startling him.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked again.

"Well. It is because of what you've done."

Saying like it is something casual.

"What I've done? What did I exactly do? Why can't I remember anything?" He found out that his memories are a little bit chaotic there are somethings that are missing so that is why he was very confused.

"Oh! That's right, you only have a fragment of your memory right now. Here then."

In front of him, he saw a white light that directly shot towards between his eyebrows. And when this happened, he felt a very intense pain in his brain.

Scenes after scenes appeared in his brain. He remembered everything about him, whom he loved, where he live, what he did and what happened to cause his death.

"My name is Rein Garet . . ."

He murmured to himself silently.

"That's right. Your name is Rein Garet. Then Rein, do you remember what you last did before dying?" The voice gently asked.

When Rein heard this question he fell into deep thought and can't help but flashback to what has happen right before his death.

He was walking beside the street, at that time, the sun was hanging high in the sky giving off a devilish heat. The ground was scorching hot and when he walks, his shoes keeps on getting affected by the heat.

But no matter how hot the sun is, there are still a lot of people going out for work. He was on his way to work at that time when he suddenly saw a little boy crossing the street.

The little boy was like a doll, wearing a cap while eating a lollipop, he was very cute that you can't resist the urge to squeeze him. But the problem is that, the cute little boy is crossing the street and not far away from him was an over speeding truck.

He didn't know whether it's because the truck was so high or the truck was just really out of breaks, but it was going towards the boy showing no signs of stopping.

And Rein, out of impulse, dashed towards the boy pushing it to the side. It was a very magnificent feat for Rein as he never thought that he could run that fast, if he had known earlier he would have joined a marathon and become extremely famous.

Too bad he can't do that anymore as he died, although he died, he died with a smile on his face knowing that he saved an innocent life from death.

"I saved a boy from death . ." Knowing that he did something very good, he was proud of himself for doing that and he didn't regret it even one bit.

"What you did was a very good thing. And did you know what happened to that boy after you saved him?"

He was very confused as to what he had heard.

"That boy became a very influential being on Earth and he spread what you did to him to others, by helping the poor and giving them education, shelter and food to eat."

The voice sounded very happy when he was saying this.

"And I'm very proud of you Rein. Therefore, I decided to give you a chance to live another life in another world, if that is okay with you." The voice said to him.

"It's alright with me. Thank you for the second life by the way, I really appreciate it." He vowed to somewhere, but since he didn't have any body he can only imagine doing it.

"Alright that's good to hear. But before I reincarnate you do you want to hear to what world would I send you?" The voice sounded mysteriously.

"Where?"

He subconsciously asked.

"It's in a world where monsters exist and humans can tame them. It is a very magical world of sword and magic where there are many exiting things to do.

But since you are not used to that world, I will be giving you one ability to help you adapt to that world easily and enjoy your new life."

Imagining that he has a head, Rein nodded.

"Well. That's all of it. Good Luck with your new world."

After that, he just realized that his whole body, or soul, disappeared. The next thing he know is that he is now inside a very large forest.
