44 A Cure for a Hangover (Chapter 44)

Daniel's head suddenly hit the table and was knocked into the land of dreams.

"Hahaha! I will..*HIC* be joining you in the dream world *HIC* young warrior!!" *BAM!*

And just as Daniel fell so did Tor.

"Umm it's already getting late, should we just leave them?"

One of the young giants asked.

"Don't worry you young'uns go ahead and return to your homes. These two have a huge tab and I will not let them leave until they pay up."

Hertha said speaking up as she cracked her knuckles.

The two washed up drunks suddenly flinched.

"Hahaha!!"

The young giants all laughed at the misfortune that is about to befall the two once they wake up.

The young giantess however just quietly stared at the flushed face of the unconscious Daniel with interest|2| in her eyes.

"Mmmm..."

As Daniel slowly opened his eyes, he winced. The seemingly gentle glow of sunlight assaulted him like sharp rays of pain, causing his head to throb in agony.

"My head...."

Daniel clutched his head as he slowly stood up.

'System… argh… do you have any medicine for hangovers?'

[Good Morning Host. Yes I indeed do have such medicines.]

'Give me one please! My head is killing me! And I feel am feeling a little… bit…'

"*HURMPH*"

Suddenly Daniel lurched forward as his face turned green.

'System…*HURMPH*...quickly….*HURMPH* give me….*HURMPH* the medicine!'

Daniel said|3| to the system as he tried his best to not hurl.

Instantly, Daniel began to feel a warm gush of energy flow through his body making him feel comfortable. His unsettled stomach was pacified, the agonizing headache he had a couple seconds ago faded away and his body began to feel revitalized.

"Phew… I am starting to feel better."

Daniel said with relief.

'Now let see how much I paid for the medicine...'

'F-f-four hundred and five?!!!'

'Dammiiiittt!! That's too much!!'

'U.F, Did you purposely choose the expensive medicine…'

"Just wait till you get a body…"

Daniel threaten quietly.

'Hmmm now lets see what happened… '

Daniel closed his eyes as memories of yesterday afternoon played in his mind like a movie screen.

Since Daniel's [Intelligence] attribute has increased, he has an almost perfect memory of recent events and some from his childhood. If his [Int] stat attribute continues to increase, his mind will come to the point of being able to remember even the smallest detail of events that have happened in his life such as the taste of foods he has tasted in the past or the pain from a papercut he may have gotten in the past, as well as past emotions such as a breakup that he may gone through, and maybe even remember the time when he was born. However, for now Daniel is only able to remember recent years vividly, and some parts of his childhood.

'Oh my god. I drank too much. After drinking that stupid drink I completely lost it... I need to be more careful next time and only drink when I am in a safe place or with people I can trust. Luckily I am friends with the Giants.'

Daniel then looked at the still knocked out Tor who had a small pond of drool forming on the table.

'Hahaha he's probably gonna wake up with an even worse hangover than me.'

Daniel thought as he then looked at the dozens of empty giant sized mugs around Tor.

"I see you have woken up early!"

A voice said coming from behind Daniel.

"Good Morning Miss Hertha! I am sorry about the mess we created."|5|

Daniel said smiling a bit sheepishly.

"Haha no worries kid. As long as you pay me I do not mind the amount of empty mugs you've left on the table."

The old giantess said smiling, however, on the inside she was shocked.

"Ah! Yes! How much do I owe ya?"

Daniel said scratching his head embarrassedly.

"Hmmm lets see... 1,250,000 Jewels!"

Hertha said as she stared at the giant notepad she pulled from her apron.|6|

"W-wait WHAT?!"

Daniel screamed in shock.

"1,250,000 Jewels! For both of you."

Hertha said calmly as she crossed her arms.

"W-what?!"

Daniel said in shock.

"Unless… you tell me how you got over your hangover."

Hertha said as her eyes narrowed.

"It was a strange medicine that a mysterious merchant sold to me. He said that the medicine was able to cure hangovers."

Daniel said instantly, almost as if his lie about the mysterious merchant has become second nature.

"Humph… that's the worse bullsh*ttery I've heard in all my 500 years of living! If you don't wanna say then…"

Hertha said as she extended her arm towards Daniel.

"Urgh…. sigh…"

Daniel then proceeded on extracting the amount out of his wallet and handing to Hertha a wad of green color bills..|7|

"Thank you. If ya ever need a drink just come back again. Hehe we have stronger stuff than 'The Devil's Piss' that you could try."

The old giantess said smiling.

Daniel suddenly shivered.

'F*ck no! If that's true then they should be considered poison instead!'

"U-uh yeah sure."

Daniel answered a bit nervously.

"Well then, off you go."

Hertha said as she shooed him.

"Wait what about Tor?"

Daniel said looking at the unconscious Tor.

"You've already paid your tab. However, he has not!"

Hertha said pointing at the snoring, drooling giant.

'Sorry Tor… but you were the one who suggested 'The Devil's Piss' so you pay for yourself...'

Daniel apologized on the inside.

"All right then… Ima leave. Bye Hertha!"

Daniel said as he jumped to the floor and headed towards the exit.

"See you later young man!"

Hertha said as she waved.

'Wait… should I leave some medicine on the table for Tor?'

"Sigh… I guess it would be rude if I do not leave him something to help his hangover once he wakes up…"

'System give me this Item giant sized please… '

[Sure thing Host.]

"What time is it?"

Tor said as he clutched his head with one of his hands in pain. He then looked at the window and he winced in pain at the bright sunlight that was shining outside.

"Ugh my head…"

"HUMRPH… BLEAAAUURGH!"

Tor suddenly lurched forward as he hurled his lunch from the previous day.

"Urgh…."

Once he was done he noticed a bright green ball with blue letters engraved on it.

He was about to reach for it, however, the bright green started to make him feel queasy, and once again he lurched forward and started to vomit.

On the surface of the ball the blue letters spelled : Hang-In-There!
