7 Goblin slayer

I continued walking through the cave, coming across 15 more slimes, these ones a bit larger and higher level, being level 5's netting a base XP of 15 each, but with my new equipment, gaining me 45 per, life was starting to look good. There were incredibly easy to kill, seemingly slower than the level 1 slimes, or was it i was just that much faster than them?

Eventually i came across a crack in the wall, big enough for me to squeeze through just barely. Thinking it was better to explore ever possible area for more god tier loot i pushed through the crack, on the other side was what looked like a small living area, full of goblins. 40 to be exact. Remembering my quest and lavishing over the easy XP i saw from their levels varrying between level 1 and 10, i quickly pounced and killed them all. The 6,000 XP leveled me up twice. On top of the quest being completed for another 10,000 XP. I checked my stats and notifications after harvesting their body's for all the bones they had, A good haul for sure but at what cost?

"Quest completed: Goblin slayer. 10,000 XP rewarded.

New title acquired from slaying enemies. Goblin Slayer."

'A new title? Let me check my stats briefly before looking at that title, might be useful maybe?'

Titles:

Goblin Slayer; after having slain and butchered so many goblins, they now sense the danger around you. They may offer gifts to avoid being killed, or run away. If the power gap is large enough they will die in your presence out of fear.

"Wow… such an evil title but its very useful… cant wait to test it out…"

Not really needing to dump stat points and wanting to see the effects i made my way back out.

Back out in the hall i continued on through the cave, fighting more slimes and goblins. Indeed the title did what it said. The goblins died on sight. That made things a fair bit easier on me.

*A/N i forgot to mention he equipped the bone armour as well, raising his overall armour, the previous stat block shows the updated armour*

Between the small hole in the wall and the boss door there were a total 30 more goblins, and 50 slimes. Each one falling easily, the goblins netting me a solid 80XP each due to them being level 13 and the slime a nice 30 for their 35 level 10's and 40 for the remaining level 15's for a total of 7200 from the goblins and 4950 from the slimes after the XP buff.

I glanced at my stats and decided to level them out a bit, trying to keep them fairly close together.

'Just one more level and they would be even. Though this time my stats improved by 5 each… i guess every 5 levels the amount my stats go up improves… means at higher levels i will still get a solid boost.'

Along the way i found the key to the boss door inside a chest, as well as a few pieces of bone armour, but i scrapped them as i already had a full set on. I unlocked the door and again it opened, though this time there was no grand entry to a dark room. This room was no arena either, at least not a grand one. Inside the boss room lay a sand floor with stones making a ring. On the far side stood two fairly large goblins. One with yellow skin and the other red skin.

"System, what are those?"

"Identified high level goblins.

Level 20 Goblin Chief

Level 25 Pyro Goblin

Anything else?"

"No, that will do it for now, thanks."

Seeing the levels made me shiver a little, so far everything had been basic and under level 15, but these were both level 20 enemies… would they be able to keep up or match my abilities?

I didn't want to give them a chance to attack first so I sprinted forwards, feeling a rush of speed i dashed forward and heard the system go off yet again but i ignored of for now. I stabbed my sword into the yellow goblin chiefs chest and ripped upwards, cutting it in half. Following through with a horizontal slash at the red pyro goblins neck it managed to jump out of the way only getting nicked slightly on the neck. It was fast but not quite fast enough. I dashed forth yet again with another surprising burst of speed and starting swiping my sword back and forth at it, for what seemed like 10 minutes it managed to barely escape each slash until finally i had enough. I put all my effort into a slash causing an effect of air to cut out from my blade straight into its chest, killing it with another few dings.

"2nd floor cleared: +1000 XP, Mystery Rare weapon, Mystery rare Chest Armour.

Level 25 Pyro Goblin Slain, +2,500 XP

Level 20 Goblin Chief Slain, +1,000 XP

New skills learned; dash, stab, slash

+1,500 XP for learning 3 skills naturally.

Updating XP rewards due to Equipment. +18,000 XP"

"Well thats neat… im glad i picked up some skills, but lets see what goodies i got from the quest. Roll the items."

"Rolling rare weapon and rare armour…

Items rolled;

R Iron sword of flames

R Iron Chest Plate (heavy armour)"

"Heavy armour? Does that mean what I'm wearing is light armour?"

"No, you are wearing regular or medium armour requiring no classification. Light armour would be considered clothing, though with the lack of protection that too is not classified. Heavy armour also comes with a restriction in that you must be trained on wearing it properly or suffer a debuff for wearing it."

"Ahhh… well i guess i should find a settlement then… some sort of city to train on how to wear heavy armour and learn to cast that spell…"

"Updating quests…"

"What…? Why? What happened?"

"New quests detected:

Revenge: the death of the monsters in this dungeon have alerted nearby monster of the same species and they now come to kill you for revenge. You may either kill them or run away, rewards differ for what you choose.

Civilization: find a settlement to the northwest for information on where to train your skills, spells, and combat prowess… rewards vary on the information gathered…"

Just then the sound of metal scraping against a wall echoed through the now open boss door… it sounded like hundreds of armoured goblins running through the cave straight for me…
