9 New Friends New Beginning

" Lady Reine, wake up lady Reine," I heard someone calling me

" huh what is it,"  I slowly opened my eyes to see my maids standing over me 

" You have school in an hour and the master of the house request to speak with you before you leave," said Marie 

" Oh ok,"  I said I looked around I was in my bed but I was sure I fell asleep next to my egg.

" I have already prepared your bath your breakfast is being prepared by Lanna and Annabelle is preparing your uniform," she said

" Thank you you can leave now I will call if I need anything," I said and she left I got out of bed took a shower brushed my teeth. When I went back into the room my uniform was laying on 

After getting ready I jogged over to my father's study. I knocked on the door and he let me in. 

" I was told you wanted to see me father," I said feeling a little scared 

" Yes I wanted to speak with you," he said and looked up at me " I wanted to apologize for last nights dinner,"

I looked at him wide-eyed. He wanted to apologize for something. He never does. Sure he buys stuff for us when he's feeling guilty but never apologized.

" I saw you curling up to that egg last night and it reminded me of my time going to the University of magic what I'm trying to say is it was unfair of me to even think of taking you out of school. You're a good girl you deserve that much and even more," he stated

" You mean that you won't take me out of school," I asked still in shock

" No I won't your brother already left so you should hurry and get to school," said my dad

I left his study and dashed downstairs to the door Lana was waiting with my bag. I took my bag from her said goodbye and went in the carriage I told the coach to take the high road and the Pegasus took off into the sky. In no time I was at school and I could see Terra Yuki and the twins waiting at the school entrance. As soon as the carriage landed I jumped out and ran up to them.

" Good Morning," I said cheerfully " Who are you waiting for?"

" You silly," said Anahita as she pulled my arm and we started walking 

" So I didn't get a chance to talk to you yesterday but how are you able to use all eight magic elements?" asked Anahita

" Don't know I've all ways been able to do that," I answered

"Terra is impressed Reine is nice and powerful," said Terra 

" Thanks but we should hurry to class now before we're late," I said and started walking faster 

When we entered class we didn't have time to chat so I went to where I was sitting yesterday with Yuki.

" You still having second thoughts about school?" he asked

" No, not anymore," I answered smiling I finally had friends besides Yuki so nothing was wrong everything was falling in place.

After about five minutes the teacher entered the classroom.

" Good morning students how are you all doing," he asked

" Good Morning Mr. Williams we're doing fine," answered all of us 

" Good great so we are going to start today with a small activity to see how much we know so far," he said

" So first question: how many magic elements are there?"

Several students lifted their hands.

"  Mr. Smith you may answer," 

" There are eight  main types of magic," answered Jayden Smith  

" Next Question what are the rare and ultra-rare types of magic," Mr. Williams asked

"  Yes, Anahita you may answer,"

"  The rare types are ice and lightening the ultra-rare types are light or darkness,"

" Correct Last question who are most likely to have the ultra-rare magical elements," Asked Mr. Williams " You may answer Aiden,"

" It is most likely for persons with elf blood to possess ultra-rare magic,"

" Correct, So for this term, we will be focussing on magic control," Said Mr. Williams " Can someone tell me why magic control is important," he waited a while "ok so no one knows why,"

" Magic control is important because each spell requires an adequate amount of magic and if you use more than the amount needed you will be wasting your magic and if you use less the spell will not work,"

Mr. Williams informed us

" Ok place your hands In front of you and create a magic ball if the ball cracks you are using too much magic if the ball does not form you are using too little magic," Mr. Williams said while forming a ball of his own.

Everyone started to try but almost all failed. I had done this before and had a good understanding of magic control so it was pretty easy for me. Yukio got it on his first try too but that was no surprise. Terra's broke a couple of times before it became stable Anahita's wouldn't form and Andrei's kept breaking. But who surprised me was Jayden Smith sure I already guessed he was smart but I wouldn't have guessed he knew such perfect magic control he had his magic ball floating in one hand while using the next to read a book. After everyone had successfully formed theirs we were charged with the task of maintaining it until lunchtime. When the bell rang everyone sighed with relief as their magic ball disappeared.

" Before you leave please hand me the form I gave you yesterday and I am hoping they are all complete," he said 

As we exited the class we handed in our forms.

" So are things getting interesting yet," asked Yukio 

" No, but I think I'm starting to like it a lot more," I said as we walked to an empty desk in the cafeteria.

As soon as we sat Terra, Anahita, and Andrie came and sat with us.           

" I envy you mare and more Reine," said Anahita "  First Yukio's Fiance then all elements of magic and now perfect magic control, what can't you do?"

" Anahita is right Terra envy you too," Terra said

" Excuse me Prince Yukio Lady Reine we are here to deliver your lunches and we also brought enough for your friends," said Schaur Yukio's butler as servants flooded the halls and placed a variety of foods on our lunch table

" Thank You Schaur, You may all leave now,"

" Blessings And Glory Upon The Empire," the servants said as they left the cafeteria

" Sure go ahead," he said I got up and walked over to

I walked over to the table I saw Riley sitting.

" Excuse me, Miss Grant I was wondering if you would like to sit with me and my friends,"  I asked 

" Hello, Lady Reine sure why not,"

" Oh well, let's get going, and please call me Reine,"  

I walked her back to the table and went to get the others. Miles Grey and Jayden Smith were sitting next to each other. I went over to them and asked them the same thing I asked Riley they agreed and followed me over to our table.

" This is Riley, Jayden, and Miles they are in our class,"

" Hello," they all said looking anxious 

" No need to be so anxious you can call me Yukio like the rest of my friends," Yuki said trying to lighten the mood

" So Riley you said your family has a blacksmith store," Asked Andrei

" Yes, that's right,"

"Is there any chance I could stop by and have them make a pair of dual-wielding swords for me?" Andrei asked

" You could," she said

" Really how about we all stop by on the weekend and have your father make custom swords for us," I asked excitedly " wait are you all taking the course on swordsmanship,"

" yes I'm taking it," they all answered 

" Great what do you think Miles, Jayden, Riley are you all okay with that,"

" Sure," they answered

" May I ask lady Reine why is it that you wish for us to accompany you," asked Jayden

" It is my goal to have a group of friends I can rely on and I wish for you three to be a part of that group will you accept my invitation?" I asked

Their eyes widened

" Of course," they said

" truthfully I thought I had done something to offend Reine," said Riley

" Nope not at all, we should hurry and finish up our lunch, class starts soon," I said and with that, I had gained three more friends.

The bell rang soon after we had our share. We headed back to class together talking cheerfully for the first time in my life I knew where I belonged.
