10 Familiar Hatching

As we entered the class we went our separate ways.

" I didn't expect you to tell them the exact reason why you asked them to eat with us," Yuki said

" Friendships are built off trust if I had lied to them it wouldn't have been a sincere friendship so I thought telling them the truth would be best," I said

" Your right it was the right call," Yuki said and patted my head as we sat down

" Ok welcome back students we will be continuing where we left off," Mr. Williams said a series of groans were heard throughout the classroom.

" You will form your magic into distinct shape or animals anything you want as long as I can recognize it," Mr. Williams informed us

The rest of the continued with my classmates trying to make ridiculous animals and shapes. Everything went smoothly for the rest of the week. Then Thursday rolled around and just like any other, I went to my room, checked on my egg then did my homework. While in the middle of my homework I heard a cracking sound. I looked over to my egg to see it beginning to crack. I jumped out of my chair, opened my door, and screamed.

" MOM DAD COME QUICK!!!"

Before long I heard footsteps running up the stairs. My parents my brother and my maids burst through the door.

" What is it Reine are you okay," my father said in panic while everyone else was trying to catch their breath

" Yes yes I am fine I think the egg is hatching," I said with a grin on my face

Everyone's head quickly turned to the egg. After about five minutes he successfully cracked the shell and got out. It was a winged wolf obtaining one was rare; they had trouble giving birth so there were less than fifty of them in the empire.

" Well congrats sis seems as if you hit the jackpot," said Apollo

" Thanks," I answered, " But is it a male or female?" I asked

" It's male all male winged wolves have a diamond in the forehead the females have one under each eye,"

my dad informed me

" Congrats sweetie," said my mom " Marie please get something for the little guy to eat,"

" Thanks, mom I think I'll name him Alastair," I said and picked him up. Marie came back with a neatly cut steak on a plate. As soon as she placed it on the floor he started eating as his life depended on it. Everyone soon started exiting my room. I went over to the communication crystal placed on the table beside my bed. I decided to call Yuki. As soon as I started the call he picked up.

" Reine you won't believe it," said Yuki with a wide grin on his face" the egg hatched it's a dragon,"

" Mine too and can you believe mines a winged wolf," I said

" Cool let's meet early for school tomorrow," he said

" Sure, Bye see you then," I said and hang up

I sat on my bed with a smile. I felt someone tugging the sheet so I looked down. Alastair was trying to get on my bed I took him up.

" How about we figure out something about you," I said as I got up. I exited my room and went to my private library, my favorite place in this mansion. I placed Alastair down. After a while, I found a book on mythical creatures. I picked it up and decided to go back to my room. It was getting late and I had school tomorrow.

In the morning I was woken up by Alastair licking my face. I opened my eyes and saw my maids giggling. As soon as they say I was Awake they stopped and their faces turned serious.

" Good morning Lady Reine," they said

" Morning," I said and sat up

We have prepared your boss clothing and your breakfast milady

"Okay, thank you," I said got up, and headed to the bathroom. I got in the bath and started to relax then I heard a splash I jolted up and looked in the bath. I giggled and picked him up he licked my face and shook his fur making everything wet he flapped his wings in excitement I placed him on the floor and finish taking a bath I got out of the bath and put my uniform on. I called the maids.

"Something wrong lady Reine?" asked Lana

" Prepare a bath for Alastair too next time he seems to like the water," I said, Lana nodded in response and I left the room.

I went downstairs quickly ate my breakfast and left the house with Alastair in my backpack. I hopped into the carriage and it took off. When I arrived at school I jumped off the carriage excitedly and ran up to Yuki who was pacing anxiously.

" Yuki! I'm here," I said excitedly. He quickly stops pacing and turns to me.

" Finally do you not know the meaning of early you're lucky that we only have familiar taming today and it's later in the day," he said " this way the others are waiting for us,"

I quickly followed behind him. We entered the school garden and in the center, under a gazebo, I saw the others talking among themselves. I ran up to them and said hello.

" Reine you won't believe it our eggs hatched," shouted Anahita excitedly

"I can believe," I said placed my bad on the floor, and took out Alastair he waged his tail, flapped his wings, and yipped seeming to say hello.

Everyone looked at me as if they had seen a ghost.

" Reine is that a winged wolf," asked Anahita in a quiet voice

" Yes it is," I said mimicking her quiet tone

" How??" she asked

" I have no clue and I am not going to stress over it and looking carefully now your familiars are rare too," I said " You have an ice phoenix and Andrie has a fire phoenix, Jaden has a golden feathered owl, Terra has a Dearfox, Miles, and Riley both have a chimera and Yuki as a lightning dragon also extremely rare,"

" Yeah but only Yuki's lightning Dragon comes close to yours," said Anahita " Speaking of which, what's the little guy's name?"

" Alastair, what's yours?" I asked

" Crystal meaning ice," she said seeming proud

" This little guy is Azaron," said Andrei

" This one is Sylvain meaning man of the forest," said Terra

" I named mine Ziva and she seems to like it," said Jayden

" He just wants her to become a nerd like him," said Riley " Anyways this little chimera is named Alfonso meaning ready for battle, maybe we can protect you Jayden," Riley said Teasingly. Jayden scoffed and turned away. I quietly chuckled.

" They have been at it all morning," said Miles " Either way this is Alev,"

" And she is Asterope, Aster for short," said Yuki with a bright smile.

" I feel like I'm the only one who didn't put much effort into naming him," I said

They all laughed

We continued to talk about the cute things our familiars did in the last twenty-four hours. About an hour went by then we heard a loud shout.
