6 Chapter 5 - Years Later (Part Two)
From six to twelve years old, I spent at Hayama Elementary School.
Immediately after arriving from the shelter, everyone was met and placed in a dormitory in rooms for four people, and tomorrow classes began.
I was also then hooked up with three boys, but not for long.
The month of study flew by pretty quickly.
All day of schoolchildren in Japan is busy. Classroom lessons from morning to lunchtime. From lunch to evening, voluntary-compulsory classes in clubs.
And only in the evening you have your own free time. This is despite the fact that homework is not given in elementary school. So it would not have happened even in the evening because, as I heard homework assignments, there is simply an unbearable amount.
The items are pretty common, but I liked two of them.
These are the lessons of economics and natural science.
Science lessons are a mixture of geography, chemistry, physics and biology. Yes, already from the first grades they begin to study these sciences ... Only with an adjustment for age.
But I didn't like the object itself, but how it is served. Most of the activities are experimentation. So far, that is unpretentious, but still.
In the past world, such sciences were presented with a dry theory, which simply needs to be taught, taught and taught again. There is also about equal parts of theory and practice. It is really interesting for children to study here.
And now my favorite subject, which I consider necessary for every school in the world.
The household. Or as I call it "Stone Jungle Survival Manual". Seriously. After reading a book on the subject, I immediately went to the library after classes and read all the available books on this topic.
My eyes literally opened. It feels like he lived in darkness before. No, really. EVERYTHING is written in these books. How to eat properly.
How to save money correctly. How to set goals and achieve them. It literally describes how to live! There is even a fucking instruction on how to clean the house properly!
In the past world, at eighteen, I did not know almost half of the contents of these books. Yes, where there I did not even know how to pay utility bills and where to go accordingly. The book literally teaches you how to live in society.
It may seem that this lesson is useless because all this should be taught by parents at home. In theory, yes, but no. Here in schools no one counts on parents. Everything is carefully taught at school.
And in general, the presentation of knowledge is of high quality. Here, they generally do not expect that someone will teach children something outside the school.
On the one hand, it is great that schoolchildren are constantly busy with development and work. On the other hand, I myself remember how the guys went home after school, changed their clothes and ran to play in the streets. We climbed the abandoned buildings. They burned bonfires, toasted bread. Potatoes were baked in coals.
Here is the romance of childhood.
Intellectually I understand that here in Japan everything was done correctly and rationally, but with my heart and soul I still burn fires and run around the gateways.
Okay enough about that.
As for the clubs, everything is simple. This is something like compulsory extracurricular activities. You "voluntarily" must join at least one. How many clubs you visit doesn't matter. The main thing is to spend your time on them, and not wander around anywhere.
So I signed up for the Household, Reading and Aikido clubs.
At the club, households were taught cooking, cleaning, sewing, and other useful household activities.
The reading club was in the library. There I just absorbed information from books like a sponge to water. In just a week, I literally gobbled up the entire elementary school curriculum. There was only literature, of which there is quite a lot.
He has established himself as a calm and serious boy of genius.
I was even given a private room when asked.
The teachers adored me, but the students did not like me because they stood out too much. To them, I was just a weird nerd boy who behaved unnaturally for them.
They didn't make me an outcast, but there were no friends either.
As you understand, I did not hide my genius, because I think it is stupid. But this does not mean that you need to give out all the secrets and trump cards to everyone. You need a balance between gains and losses.
The Aikido club, oddly enough, taught the martial art of Aikido. So far, for my age, only training should go, but seeing my physical form gave the go-ahead for sparring with the elders.
The martial art itself concentrates on defense and counterattack. Here they teach to use the strength of the enemy against him. These are mainly grabs and throws.
And so the months passed, and after them the years. I continued to cultivate and prepare for the madness to come.
Rise in the morning. Preparing breakfast and lunch to go to school. Further study and circles alternating every other day. The whole evening and night is spent on pumping skills. Four hours before school there is a three-hour meditation.
And all over again. Everyday. Cycle by cycle.
When you are constantly busy with something, you don't notice how time flies. It happens to me too. It seemed that I had only recently entered, but I am already graduating.
