Chapter 10

Jin was sitting on the balcony with a cigarette in his hand. A year had already passed since they arrived at the island, but nothing had happened. They were still in the Highschool of the Dead world, and he wasn't sure if he had messed up somehow.

Was the island not safe enough? Did they not have a constant source of food and water? Jin wasn't sure if that's the problem since the island hadn't been attacked by zombies. They hadn't seen any in the past year. Saya and Yuriko made sure they always had enough water.

Kyoko and Shizuka tended the garden and harvested their vegetables. He even brought a good amount of fish whenever he went out fishing. So what was the problem? Or was it because he had been eating a bit too much lately? His ghoul instincts had been craving for human flesh, and he had to satisfy his hunger in some way, but they still had a lot of food stockpiled.

"What's been bothering you?" Rika asked as she wrapped her arms around him from behind. "You've been anxious for the past few days."

"I have," Jin admitted. He had been counting the days ever since they arrived, writing them down in a small journal. One year passed five days ago, and they had celebrated it by partying. So why were they still here?

"So? What's the problem?" Rika asked and moved around him, plopping herself on his lap.

"The problem is that we are still here," Jin said with a frown and extinguished the bud before litting up another cigarette. Only he and Rika smoked, but they hadn't brought that many packs with them. They were going to run out soon.

"I don't get it. Where else are we supposed to be? We've been living here for the past year with no plans of moving out. I admit I'm interested in seeing what's the situation on the mainland and if someone had developed a cure, but we've had a good life here so far."

"It's hard to explain, but..." Jin didn't get to finish what he was about to say as he suddenly felt a twisting sensation. He would've emptied his stomach if his body didn't process anything he ate in an instant, but Rika wasn't as lucky. She puked right on top of him, but he stood up in excitement, not caring the slightest about that.

"What the fuck happened?" Rika asked and looked at Jin, who was staring off in the distance with a happy smile on his face. She turned around and blinked her eyes a few times, trying to comprehend what she was seeing.

"What is that?" Rika questioned. From the balcony, they had a clear view of the ocean waters, but she was pretty sure there hadn't been a wall made of pitch darkness just a moment ago. It looked as if someone had cut around their island with a knife before depositing their location in space.

Lifting her head towards the sky, Rika saw that it had been replaced with the same wall of darkness, but it was bright outside despite no sun shining on them.

"Gather everyone in the lobby. I need to check something and will be there shortly to explain," Jin said excitedly before jumping out of the balcony and gliding down.

Jin ran around the island, finding the quinques that had come with him from his first world scattered around, but not what he was searching for. He still picked them up with his kagune to store them in the weaponry they designed in the hotel. Saeko would surely love playing with the sharp objects.

With a slight frown, Jin entered the lobby, finding the girls inspecting a metallic grey terminal. He let out a sigh of relief seeing the object. Hearing him, they all turned towards him with different expressions on their faces.

"Okay, you need to explain what happened. You obviously know what's going on," Rika said, remembering his earlier words.

"Welcome to my Universe," Jin said with a grin. All of them looked confused, except for Saeko, who strolled towards him, her eyes focused on the quinques he was carrying with him.

"Long story short, I'm a God," Jin continued with the grin never leaving his face.

"What? Really?" Saya asked in wonder.

"Well... not really, but technically I am one," Jin answered and dropped the quinques for Saeko to examine before walking over to the terminal.

"Not sure how to explain this, but I've been... given the job? Yeah, the job of creating a Universe. Though I personally don't have the power of doing it myself yet. Right now, I have to visit different worlds and accomplish specific tasks, which provide me with rewards," Jin gave them a moment to process his words before continuing. He had tried explaining this to them before, but for some reason, the words never left his mouth when he did.

"In your world, I had to save people from the zombie apocalypse and create a Sanctuary with a constant source of food and water. I was sent here a few minutes before I saved Saya and the others. Not sure why, but I hadn't been able to tell you this until now."

"So you are not from our world, but... from a different one?" Yuriko asked, to which he nodded.

"That explains the abilities," Rika concluded.

"Does that mean there are many different worlds out there?" Kyoko questioned.

"Yes, at least I think so," Jin replied and looked at the text on the terminal.

[Scenario complete! As a reward, your Sanctuary and a part of its surrounding have been transported to your budding Universe!]

[Additionally, you have been awarded 100 points for your next world due to saving one extra person!]

"What does it say?" Saya asked, peeking at the text from beside him.

"Can't you read it?" Jin asked with a raised eyebrow.

"No," Saya shook her head. "It looks like gibberish to me."

"Huh." That was an interesting piece of information to know.

"Your Universe is pretty small from what I saw from the balcony," Rika said with a laugh as she came over to look at the screen.

"For now, yes. This is the first piece of land I've been rewarded, and besides, I compensate that with my other attributes," Jin grinned at her.

"Can't argue with that," Rika grinned back.

"So what does it say?" Yuriko asked.

"Just a moment," Jin said before reading through the next few screens.

In essence, the information explained that his Universe will be provided with a day and night cycle until the tutorial stage's end. Afterward, he will have to find a solution on his own.

Jin could also bring people from his Universe alongside him in his Jumps now, but he had to pay 500 points for that. At least he had to pay only once per world and bring as many as he wanted to.

Lastly, the time in his Universe will be frozen while he was in another world, but that feature will only last until the completion of the tutorial stage. Jin wasn't sure how long that was, but he thought it should take him a few more worlds at most.

Jin turned to them and studied their expressions. For the most part, they didn't look too bothered that they weren't in their world any longer. It's not like there was much left of it anyway. After explaining the information he read, some of them expressed interest in joining him in his jumps while the rest were content staying safely in his Universe.

"Are you going to bring us with you in your next world?" Saeko asked with her eyes shining bright, eager to test her skills in battle.

"Depends," Jin said and looked back at the terminal, clicking on it once.

"What the fuck?" Jin explained, seeing his next world.

"What?!" They asked.

"The next world is... Harry Potter," Jin replied. The previous two worlds, he had a vague sense that he knew them. Though, Jin hadn't been sure about it. This one, however, he was certain he knew off.

"Really?" Saya jumped in excitement since the Harry Potter books and movies existed in their world as well. "Can you bring us with you, please?"

"I can't promise you that yet," Jin told her. Saya pouted in disappointment, and he quickly stole a kiss from her.

"Don't be like that. I will have to make sure I'm able to survive and accomplish my task first. Plus, I might be able to bring something interesting from there," Jin said and looked over what he could purchase.

"I don't think I have enough points to take you with me, but..." Saya pouted at his words but smiled when he continued. "I plan on bringing Hogwarts to my Universe."

[Hogwarts is mine: Take over the esteemed position of Hogwarts' Headmaster and have all the professors teaching there loyal to you and only you.

Reward: The magical castle known as Hogwarts. The current inhabitants of your Universe have a 20% chance of gaining magic, and any babies have a 20% chance of being born with magic.]

That seemed like a good reward. Jin would've done only for the castle, but the addition of magic would be nice to have. Though, there were two more Scenarios he was interested in. On a whim, he tried selecting them and grinned when the terminal warned him that he will have to complete all Scenarios before being transported back to his Universe.

[Master of Death! Collect and own all three Deathly Hallows at the same time.

Reward: A realm of the dead, a resting place for the deceased, is formed your Universe, and the Deathly Hallows are permanently fused with your body.]

With this, if anyone important dies in his Universe, Jin will be able to speak with them or even revive them. He thought it was worth it. And the next one...

[Fate no more! There is a prophecy about Harry Potter and Tom Riddle Jr. One of them has to die by the hand of the other, but you don't care about that. Kill both Harry Potter and Tom Riddle Jr.

Reward: No fate-born with the destiny of killing you will ever be birthed in your Universe]

Either way, Jin would have to deal with Harry Potter to take his Invisibility Cloak, so he might as well take this Scenario. It didn't hurt that it came with the added bonus of no one in his Universe being born with the destiny of killing him.

Now it was time to pick his Perks. For the first one, he chose Metamorphmagus, which cost 400 points. As long as he kept it hidden, he will be able to get away with some of the things he planned on doing.

The next one he chose was Natural Mind Artist, which again cost 400 points. The Perk made him a naturally born Legilimens and Occlumens. Legilimency will allow him to read other people's minds, which was nice. However, it was Occlumency, the magical art of defending one's mind, the reason he picked it. He didn't want anyone reading his thoughts and learning more about him.

The third Perk was a no-brainer, in his opinion.

[Magical Prodigy(-400): Every century, a magical prodigy is born in the wizarding world - they learn and even develop spells far faster than everyone else and manipulate magic with ease. Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, and Tom Riddle Jr. were the last three magical prodigies, and you just might be the next one.]

Jin wasn't sure what else to select afterward, so he turned to Saya, asking for her opinion. Even with his Genius Perk, his memories were scrambled, so he couldn't perfectly remember all the events in Harry Potter. She was more than happy to help him, and he selected one more Perk, Parselmouth.

Saya informed him that he will need to be a Parselmouth to enter the Chamber of Secrets, which will give him access to a very delicious meal. Plus, it made his tongue a mighty weapon in the bed as an added bonus.

Jin was at a -100 after selecting Parselmouth, so he looked through the Disadvantages. Moments later, he laughed out loud before choosing one.

[Lycanthropy(+300): A werewolf had wound you in the past and inflicted you with the disease known as Lycanthropy. You are considered a dark creature by the magical community and might be hunted down. During full moons, you will transform into a werewolf and lose your mind to the beast within you if you don't have the willpower to resist it.]

It wasn't too bad, and Jin might even get some practice in controlling his full kakuja form. However, that's if the Disadvantage affected him, considering he had the Pureblood Perk, which protected him from mundane and extraordinary ailments.

Jin had 200 more points and considered saving them, but he selected two more items for himself. A Mokeskin pouch that cost 100 points, and an Occlumency guide for 50 more.

The pouch would let him store items inside it, which only he could take out. This way, Jin could bring a quinque or two with him and store anything he didn't want others to find there. While the Occlumency guide will kickstart his training in the mind arts and help him set up his mind shields faster.

Finally, Jin chose the drop-in background, which allowed him to pick his age, but not the day he will arrive in the Harry Potter world, which could be anywhere from the moment the plot starts or a few years earlier.

Jin's selection was finished with that, but he stepped away from the terminal. Time will be frozen in his Universe, and for the girls, he will just appear back immediately, but he won't get to see them for a long while.

All of the girls got to go on a date with him and spent some personal time with him. Even Yuriko as well, but they simply talked as she was the only one he didn't have a physical relationship with.

Afterward, Jin finished his selection, and he was given one hour to prepare for his departure. The effect was instant, and he shrank down in size while his two items appeared in front of him.

"You are so cute!" Shizuka was on him in a second, engulfing his smaller body in a hug. "I wonder..." she trailed off, holding his ten-year-old body in her embrace.

Jin had chosen that age, so he could go through Hogwarts as a student and get to study magic there for seven years. Saya had agreed that was a wise decision.

"Shizuka, please let me go. I need to get used to the body and grab some stuff," Jin said, and the blonde nurse let him go with a pout.

After testing his physical capabilities for a dozen minutes, Jin was pleased with the results. He might be ten years old, but he was still a half-ghoul, which will give him a massive advantage. Jin was also able to faintly hear the surface thoughts of the girls as long as he focused on them. Before he played around with his new magical capabilities, he grabbed two quinques and stored them in his Mokeskin pouch alongside his new book.

"Saeko, come here," Jin called her over and stared into her eyes. Hearing someone's surface thoughts wasn't easy, but delving into someone's mind was even harder. He practiced a bit with Saeko before he took out his Occlumency guide and started working on that.

Right before the one hour he was given for preparation was about to pass, Saya said. "Just remember what we discussed!"

"Got it," Jin shot her a thumbs up and disappeared from his Universe, appearing in the Harry Potter world.

I agree with HaiYou86's words about the Harry Potter world and its party tricks, but it will set a foundation for any future magical worlds he might visit. Plus, he still needs a castle, and the hotel just won't do.
