1 Prologue

"If you were given the chance to live in another world, what kind of world would you like to live in?"

"If I am given the chance, I want to live in a peaceful, quiet world where no troubles are going to stress me out."

.

After that exchange of words, the eyes of a young girl fluttered open and finds herself staring up in the clear bright sky with her body lying on the ground.

Just then, a butterfly with its wings clad in colorful patterns appeared from her sight and is flying around on top of the young girl's face. The beautiful creature then descended and rests on top of the girl's nose. By the way it was facing directly into her charcoal-black eyes, it almost seems like the butterfly is greeting her good morning.

"Good morning." Said the girl to the butterfly who then went and flew away from the tip of her nose.

The girl thought that the butterfly really did come just to greet her first thing in the morning, seeing how it went flying as soon as she gave her response.

"Oh well, I guess things like that do happen sometimes. Now then..."

After exchanging greetings with a butterfly, the girl goes up on her feet. In that instant, a strong breeze of wind blows up right in front of her face, forcing her to cover her eyes with her left arm.

At the same time, flower petals, each vary in colors came flying around the young lady, which prompt her to remove her arms away from her sight. When she did, her jaw fell open at the sight of a beautiful scenery.

"How pretty..."

A vast field of colorful flowers that extends as far as the eyes can see left the young lady in awe.

"This place looks just like the confetti flower field I found on the Internet."

The young lady exclaimed as her eyes continue to pan around the vicinity. Everywhere she looks, the myriad colors of flowers are present.

It is just like she mentioned, the place looks pretty similar to a video clip of a flower field she found on the internet. But compared to what she saw on the net, seeing it up close gives a different vibe, a different feeling.

Being able to inhale the fresh breeze and gaze upon such beautiful array of flowers with her own naked eyes relaxes her mind and body. It felt so refreshing. In fact, it's making her feel more lively, energetic and motivated.

That's good and all. But there is one thing that's been bugging the young lady's mind this entire time.

"This place is so beautiful and it relaxes me. If I could, I would stay here forever. But that aside..." Once again she scanned her surroundings. "Where in the world am I? I don't see anyone around, is this heaven? Did I actually die from a car accident?"

Apart from the wide flower field, the only thing that can be seen are trees and forests from a distance, the silhouette of mountains peeking from the horizon. There's no towering buildings, cars, road ways, flying vehicles like planes or even people.

She is all alone in the middle of nowhere.

"Did that woman lied to me and I actually died and went to heaven?"

Boing! Boing!

"Huh?"

The young lady is starting to wonder whether the individual she mentioned lied to her about sending her in a peaceful world when suddenly, a sound of some sort of soft rubber bouncing up and down resonated through her ears.

When she looked behind her, she was left questioning herself about the thing that is slowly approaching her.

The thing appears to be a blue transparent blob with a size of a basket ball bouncing off the ground with its soft body. Now normally, if someone were to encounter such a living creature, they would either run in fear or call someone for help. However, this young lady did not move a muscle. Yes, her curiosity is overwhelming her fear as she gazed upon the creature's appearance, but that's not all. She is also curious about the green text that is floating on top of the creature.

[Aqua Slime - LvL 2]

It appears to be something similar to how the names of monsters are shown in a video game she used to play before.

"Aqua Slime..." She muttered in a rather low voice. "That text looks like something out of a video game."

Yes, the way its name was shown is similar to how the monsters' names are floating above them in most video games. The only difference is that she's actually seeing it with her own two eyes and not from a computer screen.

And as someone who had an encounter like this in a video game, an instinct she developed by playing games for a while sent a distress signal through her brain which tells her that a monster approaching the player means you either fight and eliminate the monster, or avoid the creature and just run away.

Of course, she doesn't know how strong the slime actually is. But even if she tries to fight, how would a normal high school girl fight such a creature?

She's living in reality, and in reality, there's no such thing as players with incredible superpowers, stats that can be built through grinding for gears that gives additional stats, titles that empowers the players even further or anything supernatural in a video game.

This is the real world, and the only option when you encounter a bizarre living creature like a slime is to run.

That's what she would have done long ago. But before she could even react, the slime is already 2 meters closer in front of her. She's basically staring at it in its own eyes. If it has any, that is.

The slime bounces off the ground once more, and just when it was in the right height...

Bwoosh!!

"Blerrrgh!"

The blue blob shoots a blast of water pressure that struck the girl's face and knocked her down to the ground effortlessly.

In a video game sense, one would say that the young girl literally got one-shotted.

Just like that, the blue slime goes on its way and wanders off in the distance. And the girl lies still on the ground, perplexed about what just happened, as well as feeling full from the fresh water she swallowed after being sprayed by it.

"What in the world...?"

What a strange morning it was. The girl wakes up after seemingly sleeping from the ground, she finds herself standing alone in the middle of nowhere where a beautiful scenery lies. And then, a slime with its name floating on top of its head appeared before her and sprayed her water. Now, she is wet all over her face and is back on the ground, facing the sky. However, the morning is still far from over.

Boing! Boing! Boing! Boing!

"Again?!"

The young lady reflexively stood up as quickly as possible when she heard another noise the same sound the Aqua Slime made when it bounces.

This time, the sound didn't just resonate from one direction, but from all around the girl.

"Where did all these things come from?!"

Perhaps it was because she was too absorbed to the spectacular view the flower field gave her, but this entire time, the whole place had always been filled with a swarm of slimes. And she never realized it until now.

There are not just blue slimes, there are also slimes that possess different colors while also possessing a trait like how the blue slimes have the ability to shoot water.

The red slime bounces up and begins shaking vigorously as if imitating two sticks being rubbed together which creates heat through friction until eventually a fire is produced. When it did, the slime burst into an explosion of fire which then dissipates before it lands on the ground and do the same thing over and over again.

The brown slime doesn't do much except it kept tackling whatever is in front of it with an unusual sheer force for its soft body. The green slime is probably the least aggressive among the rest as it only does is eating flower leaves while occasionally firing a strong wave of wind.

"That... that probably is the one that blew that strong wind right on my face earlier."

Meanwhile, the white slime that almost look like a living ball of snow spits cold breaths that freezes everything it touches.

"And that one is definitely the most dangerous of them all."

Yes. Among the rest of the slimes in her vicinity, this particular type of slime is probably the most dangerous out of all of them out there. Especially for a normal human being like her.

The slime that caught the girl's attention appears to have a tin yellow color scheme and it produces a lightning current in which, by the looks of it, is quite powerful. The girl can tell that the lightning it produces is enough to actually harm or even kill a normal human.

The young lady instinctively makes a step back out of fear.

Step!

"...!"

But, the slightest noise she made with her making a step back alerted three slimes near her.

[Aqua Slime - LvL 2]

[Flare Slime - LvL 3]

[Lightning Slime - LvL 5]

"This ain't good."

Without wasting any time, the girl sprinted away from the three slimes.

Boing! Boing!

"Wha...! The others noticed and started chasing me as well!"

Although she is faster than those creatures, more and more slimes are being attracted with every step she makes.

Even if she widens the distance, more and more slimes are just lining up and closing that gap.

"Damn it. I should have done a more proper cardio exercise when I had the chance."

As expected, the girl is starting to feel exhausted. It was pretty obvious from the start that the young girl is a normal human. And for a normal human, everything has a limit. Such is her stamina.

If only she has something that'll help her survive in a place such as this flower field filled with dangerous slimes. If only she has what every character has inside a game. A power to fight.

"Pant! Pant! If only I have something..."

As the thought came across her mind, the young girl's left hand reflexively reached out to her left ear. But it wasn't her ear that her hand touched.

"This is..."

After carefully threading her fingers through something that seem to be a solid, round shape, connected to a band over her head. Her eyes shot up as soon as she realized what it was.

"My Headphones!"
