61 Chapter 61

[Location: New York Institute] [3rd POV]

It was a couple of days later, and Cleo had long since been found. Not by Talia and Hope, but by Cleo literally going to Clary and Luke (Cleo's brother/Clary's father figure, who is a werewolf, and ex-shadowhunter).

During that time, the only thing that Talia and Hope did, was train. Talia hard started to read through the Institute's books. Mainly on runes, the history of the downworld, and some other basic stuff. The rune book was easily the most helpful one, and was an easy read for someone like her.

She couldn't exactly cast or use the runes, but she could definitely take advantage of them. She also hoped that sooner or later, she would get a Shadowhunter class, knowing that it might have some use.

The other important thing she had done during this time, was the unlocking of her prestige goblin dungeon. She had already cleared it once, courtesy of a few massive spells that decimated the entire forest, that the goblins had taken over. This also allowed her to train her technology fairy powers a bit more, which was still hard, but she managed to make a barrier of pure digital energy, as well as even creating a cage out of it.

The cooldown for going back into the prestige dungeon, was an entire three days. So sadly, she couldn't go back into the dungeon just yet. Thankfully, the singular completion, had managed to make her level from level 7 and 2, to level 19 and 13. There was only a single quest within the prestige dungeon, and that quest only gave her 3 levels. This meant that most of the prestige dungeon, was from killing the goblins, which thankfully scaled with her, as the prestige dungeons from before did.

Talia knew that once she got to level 25, then she would get some pretty good rewards from each class. The knowledge of an assassin could be incredibly helpful for the future, with Ezio being the one she wanted more than anyone else. While for the huntress class, she was hoping for something similar to the Schnee semblance, as that thing would be overpowered as hell in her hands.

Besides completing the dungeon, and leveling, she had also trained more in her Music Kitsune side. Why? Because it allowed her to control and manipulate sound itself. Through training, she had found a few neat uses of the music kitsune. One of them being the ability to now control and change the sound of her voice, and completely block out sound from around her. The kitsune itself, was actually quite easy to learn, which she chalked up to her growing other kitsune areas already.

The final thing she had done during this time, was increase the size of her familiar army. She got 25 more crows, now having 75. While she had gotten a new species as a familiar, in the form of rats. Why rats? Because there is a shit ton of them within New York, as in two million of them. She had gotten even more rats than crows, as in a shit ton more. She had gotten a massive mischief of rats (aka a pack of rats) with it being over 250 strong...within a day.

With this new rat army, her intelligence gathering within New York, was unmatched. As she could now see through the eyes of any rat within her familiar army. Each of these rats and crows, were also much stronger than any normal rat or crow. The normal rat had speed comparable to a literal cheetah, while the bite force and strength, of something like a Tiger. While the crows were comparable in speed to a peregrine Falcon, with the strength of a something higher than any known bird, comparable to a lion in physical strength.

It was safe to say, her familiars were strong, and deadly against just about any normal foe.

Currently, Talia was standing besides Alec and Isabelle. Watching a screen as a recording played on it.

The video was seemingly of the New York skyline, before a sort of white beam shot up to the sky. Almost like a star. That "star" was an angel, a being that Valentine had kept captive previously, only for Jace and Clary to save the thing. It had also been the main reason Clary had gained access to new runes, due to the two having a special connection to one another.

Pausing the video, Alec spoke "There. They said that was the angel" Alec said, as he gazed at the screen. The idea of an angel being on Earth, was not something any normal person would expect, least of all a Shadowhunter. Alec just wished he could have been there to help save the being, as well as to see it in person.

"It could have been a shooting star" Isabelle said with a shake of her head, not wanting to believe that an actual angel was on Earth. It also didn't help that she was not happy with Clary right now, due to her keeping her new runes hidden from her.

"Sorry to say, princess, but that is definitely an angel. Just looking at the thing, I can tell it's powerful, very powerful" Talia said, gazing at the beam of light, that was the angel. It was true too, she could literally feel it's power, and she could tell that she was probably not comparable to one of the stronger angels, like Raizel (the creator of Shadowhunters), Michael, or any of the bigger and more important ones.

Alec smiled slightly at her words, finding that the more he interacted with Talia, the more he trusted her. He was sure it was the same for most of the members of the institute, primarily due to her helping them find, and stop countless murders already. "And don't you believe Jace and Clary?"

"It's not that I don't believe them, or you" Isabelle said, looking at Talia. "It's just that no angel has been seen on Earth for hundreds of years. It just a bit hard to believe, that's all" Isabelle finished.

"So...where's Hope? And did you take my advice with Magnus?" Isabelle started by asking Talia, before moving to her brother. She had given her brother some...advice that was actually pretty good.

"Ah she's out, she wanted to get to know the Werewolves in the area a bit more. So she's with Clary right now" Talia said. This was the truth, with Hope also going shopping for some new clothes for the date on the weekend.

Isabelle raised an eyebrow, but nodded. "As for me and Magnus...there's nothing to talk about" After saying this, Isabelle wasn't able to ask anything more, as a childs voice entered their ears.

"Hey, you guys" A young kid said, running up to Alec and Isabelle. 'So that's Max huh' Talia thought, looking at the young kid. The brown haired kid, was the little brother to Isabelle and Alec, making him another Lightwood.

Watching the family talk to eachother, Talia watched as an older woman entered. "Alec. Isabelle. It's good to see you both"

Talia cringed inwardly, realizing that this was not her place to be. Discreetly, she left the area, letting the family to have their alone time.

'Yeah...I'm not getting involved in any of that'

That's the end of the chapter! Next chapter have a moment between Talia and Isabelle. And will basically just be a filler chapter. The chapter after that will probably cover the rest of the episode.

Now that she has the prestige dungeon unlocked, you can expect her to get to level 30-50 within the next few chapters. With the classes being maxed out by the end of this volume/arc/world.
