42 Chapter 42

[Location: Salvatore Boarding School] [3rd POV]

After being interrupted during their moment, Alaric had ended up dragging the two along with him to find the three boys. It was super late into the night/early in the morning.

Walking alongside Alaric and Hope in the forest surrounding the school, looking for Rafael, Talia couldn't help but ask "How come you never did the ward idea I had? Or any of my ideas for that matter? It might sound arrogant, but they were a hell of a lot better than your current ways of doing things" Alaric was about to respond to her, but stopped as he noticed Rafael up against the fence bordering the forest, he had a small amount of blood on his chin and neck, and some dirt on his clothes, but was fine besides that.

"Hey, are you okay?" Alaric asked, crouching down to look over the teen.

"MG...Landon" Rafael said, slightly out of it.

"Where are they?" Alaric asked, still crouched in front of the downed teen.

"I...can't remember" Rafael said, worry in his tone, as he realized he could not remember the past day or so.

[A little later]

After bringing the slightly delirious Rafael back to the school, and his room. The three had waited until Emma had showed up, in which she had spoke "It would seem he has Lunar Psychosis" Emma said with a frown on her face.

Hope blinked at this, knowing about the condition due to Talia teaching her some new bits of knowledge that might be helpful to the girl. It was also to prepare her for the future, namely other worlds, and knowing certain things about them. Which had also meant that the two had begun to binge watch a lot of shows, mostly supernatural in nature, with Doctor Who being the only sci fi one Talia introduced Hope to, so far.

"Quit talking. Making noise" Rafael said, still completely out of it, before he began to grit his teeth. A snarl escaped his lips, as he jumped to his feet, and attempted to attack the closest person, which was Hope. Before he could get to her, he was stopped by Emma.

"What did you do to him?" Hope asked curiously.

"I'm just slowing down his heart. It will calm him" Emma responded.

Rafael, who was now calming down, looked behind him, and around himself, confusion in his face. "What's happening to me? I keep...losing time"

"As I said...lunar psychosis, which means that your mind is in flux, trapped between...your wolf and human states, making it harder to bridge the gap and access your memories like you normally would. It's very rare. It only happens after a premature reversion" Emma said, answering the questions the teen had.

"Hmm, so you must have went through some sort of trauma then, premature reversions only happen if a traumatic event took place" Talia said with a hum, not really caring too much about Landon's existence.

"Why don't you two give us a little bit?" Emma said, looking towards Hope and Talia, causing the two to look at eachother, before nodding and walking out of the room.

"He's dead isn't he? Landon I mean" Hope said, as they walked over and sat down on one of the sofa's in the common area. "Probably" Talia said with a sigh, knowing that he was technically dead right now.

[Later[

"So why are we going along with you, again?" Talia asked, sat in the back of Alaric's jeep as they drove to MG's home in Maryland.

"Because the two of you can help with finding them" Alaric said, causing Kaleb to snort at the obvious lie, while Talia rolled her eyes "No, you're doing this because you don't trust me after I killed the goons and Clarke" Talia said, causing Alaric to go silent, knowing that she saw through his obvious lie.

The drive continued for another couple of hours, before they had finally made it to MG's family home.

Getting out of the car, the small group walked towards the home, with Kaleb speaking "Damn. When you said MG going home would be catastrophic, I expected Chernobyl, not Wisteria Lane" Talia snorted at this, before listening as Alaric replied "Yeah, well, looks can be deceiving. Just...let me do the talking"

Alaric finished, as the group walked to the front door. Talia watched as Alaric ringed the doorbell, and a dark skinned woman opened the door, a smile on her face, before it fell at the sight of Alaric. Putting on a serious face, the woman spoke "Dr. Saltzman"

"Veronica" "I'm Kaleb" Kaleb said, offering her his hand to shake, only for her to ignore him, and continue "I assume you are here to apologize for my son showing up yesterday"

"Actually, we're here because he never returned to school. He's gone missing and...we're afraid he contacted his father" Alaric said, causing the woman to respond "Well, I can assure you that didn't happen"

"Veronica, who's at the door?" A mans voice sounded in the back, causing the woman to respond to him, still at the door "Uh, just a solicitor, dear. I'll be right in"

"So where'd MG go?" Kaleb asked, while Talia listened to this boredly, with Hope trying not to crack a smile at the expressions Talia was making.

"I don't know. But you're gonna find him. We may not be able to have him here with us, but he was supposed to be safe at your school. We had an arrangement, and I expect you to uphold it." The woman said, before turning and walking into the home, closing the door behind her.

"Well she's a cunt" Talia said bluntly, not caring for her language, she was Australian afterall. Kaleb chuckled at that, with Hope cracking a smile, and even the corner of Alaric's lips twitched.

"And what is this about an arrangement? Sounds a bit suspicious" Talia said, causing Kaleb to nod. Alaric ignored her in favor of calling someone on his phone. "What's the point of bringing us with you, if you aren't even gonna explain anything?"

Alaric continued to ignore her, softly speaking into the phone with Emma. "Well that's impossible" Alaric said, before continuing "Where? And when?"

"Alright, do what you need to do. But I have to find MG before his father sees him" Alaric responded, before hanging up. Talia deadpanned at the man, who was obviously keeping secrets, and was not listening or replying to a word of what she was saying. Talia was gettinig fed up with Alaric and his constant ignorance, and ignoring of her.

[Hours later]

Getting out of the car, the moon in the sky, Talia sighed while Alaric spoke "This is the place Emma talked about"

"She happen to mention that arrangement you made with Mrs. Greasley, too, when she called?" Kaleb said sarcastically. Alaric hearing this turned to the teen, before sighing and responding "MG's mother enrolled him into the Salvatore school without his father knowing that he was still alive. She didn't think his dad could handle the fact that MG was a vampire. Our arrangement was to keep that a secret"

Chuckling at this, Talia followed as Alaric began to walk "Well not only is that shady as hell, but foolish. Does she have such little faith in her husband? Or not care about how MG would feel?" Talia asked, genuinely not understanding her logic, besides the whole keeping the dad from a life crisis thing.

"Shadiest part is that you said yes" Kaleb added, causing Talia to nod at that. Hope during this, had a frown on her face, deciding that she didn't like MG's mother very much.

"I didn't want to. But I didn't want to turn MG away, either. I mean, admittedly, it's a bit of a grey area" Alaric responded.

"No it's not, life is black and white" Kaleb responded, causing Talia to chuckle "Yeah I don't agree with that one. Nothing in life is black and white, no matter where you look" Kaleb just sighed at this, before continuing to follow the group.

"Do you smell that?" Kaleb asked, his eyes widening slightly.

"Okay, what is it?" Alaric asked, slight worry in his tone.

"Blood, a lot of it" Talia responded, looking in the direction the blood was coming from. Hearing this, Alaric breathed in, and began to walk again, faster this time. Hope took in a whiff,  and also caught the scent of blood. "This way" Talia said, leading them to where a whimpering MG layed on the dirt, curled up ina a sort of ball.

"MG!" Kaleb said, moving quickly to his friends side, "Damn it, damn it. Oh, my god" Kaleb said out, noticing the blood coating MG's shirt. "It's alright, take it easy" Alaric said, worried about what had happened to cause so much blood to be on MG's clothes.

"Stay away from me, Dr. Saltzman. I can't control it" MG said, quivering as he tried to stop himself from pouncing Alaric for his blood. Talia and Hope watched with worry in Hope's eyes, and a soft frown on Talia's face.

"We're here, just tell us what happened" Alaric said, trying to calm the freaking out MG.

"There are demons all around me" MG said, still shaking. "Beast hornes and devil tongues"

"What the hell is wrong with him?" Kaleb asked, causing Hope and Talia to glance at eachother ""Werewolf bite"" They both said at the same time.

"Rafael" Kaleb said, as they looked at the werewolf bite on MG's stomach "He said he saw a monster. He is the damn monster!"

"Hope?" Alaric asked, turning to her, causing her to nod. "Here" She said, making a small cut on her wrist, allowing the blood to trickle off of her wrist, into MG's mouth. The werewolf rapidly began to heal due to the cure being administred.

Kaleb watched all this in shock, realizing that Hope's blood was the cure. "This is all my fault" The still delirious MG said, as Rafael ran up behind them, the twins besides him "Oh my god" Josie whispered in slight horror, seeing the wound on her friend.

"Raf, I'm so sorry" MG said out, as tears welled up in his eyes. "What, sorry? What are you sorry for?" Kaleb asked, confusion in his tone "He's the one that should be sorry. He's the fool that bit you!"

"No, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, stop" Alaric said quickly, stopping the teen from making a mistake.

"I remember now" Rafael said, as tears welled up in his eyes. "The elixir. His face. Being back here..." Rafael began, looking down at MG with anger "I remember who the monster was"

After a small explanation, silence overtook the group, with Rafael softly sniffling, and Alaric going silent. "You bit MG when you finished turning. Seeing Landon die must of been too much, so you reverted back and blocked the memory"

"I don't want to remember any of this" Rafael said, as he began to walk away "Raf, where are you going?" "Away from MG before I finish the job"

"Hey!" Kaleb said, stopping Rafael and causing him to turn "Landons body is out there. I'm gonna go find it" Rafael said, causing the twins to glance at their dad who nodded, before following after him.

Talia and Hope looked at eachother, before also following after them. Soon, they came upon the body, Landon's neck torn. Rafael looked at the body with sadness and anger, as Alaric joined them, and then came MG and Kaleb. Rafael began to get up, preparing to attack MG, only to be stopped by Talia "None of that" She said simply, staring the teen in the eye, causing him to growl but stop his advance.

Looking at the body, she silently casted an illusion on herself, before wordlessly casting "True Death" killing the teen for good.

As potentially evil as this was, Talia didn't care. She was not a good person, and never would lie and say she was. She disliked the teen, and the way he looked at Hope, and the thoughts he had about her, most of which were not at all okay, and were beyond problematic. She had even been able to catch onto the thoughts he had in his mind, the ideas of "taking" Hope from her, some of which were...forceful in nature.

That's the end of this chapter, as well as the end of this episode! I decided to cover the entire episode, due to most of it not happening, being boring, or just not needing to be covered. Next chapter will probably either be smut, or a dungeon chapter, one of the two. But whatever is next, the other one will be after that, probably at least.
