For some reason, I felt something bad was going to happen. My newly recovered mood dampened a bit as I couldn't push the foreboding feeling to the back of my head. The last time I felt this way, Haruno figured out my Vampire heritage. While things had been going smoothly for the both of us, I didn't want the same thing to happen again. I was not sure how Shizuka-chan or Yukino would react to my Vampire heritage.

On a more sobering note, for that to happen, there must be something forcing me to reveal my heritage. Given what had happened just a few hours prior, I was slightly agitated. That shrimp of a Vampire was dead, but there was no guarantee that he was alone. What if he has a companion with the same ability? That ability of his was troublesome. It was hard to track him by smell.

Of course, the world wouldn't spin without spiting me. Just as I hoped, for once, I was only being paranoid, I saw a silver streak rushing through the bushes. The speed I was driving at was impossible to reach by any normal breathing creatures on Earth, so I didn't even try to deny what I saw. A Vampire was following my car.

My mind rushed as I thought of a way to get rid of the offending Vampire without exposing my identity. It's a school trip, goddamn it! Why can't I have a normal school trip? I sighed at my thought as I sped up. Shizuka-chan was now intrigued. She looked at me with a quirked eyebrow.

"Why are you speeding? We have sneaked out at night. You don't need to get us back on time as we will get an earful if we get found out either way," Shizuka-chan said with a hint of humor, oblivious to the danger following us.

"Look at how empty the road is. I am sure you would do the same if I gave you the steering wheel," I countered calmly.

"Hell yeah."

Ignorance is bliss. Seeing how carefree Shizuka-chan was brought a smile to my face. I was not afraid of the Vampire. I was reluctant to reveal what I was to Shizuka-chan and Yukino. If I didn't care about freaking them out, I would have stopped the car and chewed the bastard who dared to follow me around. On second thought, I wouldn't do that. There was a risk of exposing Yukino and Shizuka-chan to danger.

I need to get them to safety.

In other words, I need to get them to the hotel. The Vampire wouldn't be stupid enough to launch a mass attack on the people there. Not only Hunters would be hot on his tail, but Hellsings also wouldn't stay still. Of course, there was a chance that he was a suicidal bastard who didn't care about such a thing.

Huh… how troublesome.

Crash!

A rock impacted the windshield, easily breaking it. The rock would have shattered Shizuka-chan's head if I hadn't put my hand before her face. The intention of the bastard who had thrown the rock was as clear as day, but I still stopped my car. I was livid. The bastard didn't only break my windshield but also almost killed Shizuka-chan.

"W- What was that?" Yukino exclaimed with a pale face. I could hear her pounding heart in my ears.

"H- Hachiman, are you okay?" Shizuka-chan stuttered out, turning to me shell-shocked.

"I am fine," I answered, grinding the rock to dust with my hand. Retracting my hand, I looked at Shizuka-chan and Yukino assuringly. "Whatever you see or hear, don't get out of the car. I will be back soon."

As I stepped out of the car, Yukino and Shizuka-chan pulled on my hand. "Where are you going? Let's just leave this place!" Shizuka-chan exclaimed. "We can also call the police and wait for them to escort us," Yukino added.

"Trust me."

Yukino and Shizuka-chan seemed to be at a loss at my response. They reluctantly let go of me and silently watched me walk away from the car. My eyes vigilantly watched the surroundings, looking for any sign of the offending Vampire. As I expected, he had the same ability as the shrimp Saki had killed. I couldn't smell him. Luckily, I was very sensitive to movements.

I noticed a faint movement in the corner of my eyes, prompting me to face the direction. I found a little girl around the age of twelve motioning for me to come. She had long silver hair and dressed like a noble child from the Victorian Era. I was not interested in her dress, of course. She looked uncannily similar to the shrimp Saki had killed.

I contemplated if should run at her or walk normally. Yukino and Shizuka-chan were still looking at me, so I was still reluctant to show off my inhuman side. My answer came when the girl silently retreated into the forest. I ignored the worried gaze on my back and followed after the girl. As soon as I was in the forest, I dashed in the direction where I sensed movements. Yukino and Shizuka-chan could no longer see me, so I didn't have to hold back.

After a few seconds of running through the forest, the little Vampire stopped running and came at me. Her outstretched hand cut through the air and headed for my neck, but it was so slow that my hand reached her neck first. She groaned as I choked her. Her eyes widened as she looked at me in disbelief.

"H- How…?"

"There is always someone stronger than you," I said neutrally. "Now, give me a reason why I shouldn't snap your neck."

Despite my question, I was tightening my grasp on her neck. I wouldn't have been able to bring myself to choke a child like her if I didn't know she was a Vampire. A part of me was begging me to stop, but my logical side was screaming at me to end her quickly. No matter how young she looked, she was a Vampire. She was not as innocent as she appeared.

"Time out…" she groaned out as she tapped my hand.

I remained silent and watched as her eyes slowly rolled to the back of her head. My conscience was screaming, but I kept reminding myself what would have happened to Shizuka-chan if I had reacted a second slower. The thought should have been enough to make me snap her neck. However, against my better judgment, I let her go.

Kuhuk! Kuhuk!

She coughed and gasped for air after I dropped her to the ground. Her hands were the only support preventing her body from touching the ground.

"Are you here to avenge your twin? Forget it, unless you want to meet the same fate," I scoffed.

"T- Twin? H- Hansel was my father. I am not here to avenge him," the girl coughed out.

"You are that shrimp's daughter?"

Taking her time to inhale deeply, she calmly answered, "He would only use that form to hunt. It lowered the guard of his target."

"So, you are imitating him. Like father like daughter, I guess."

"I am thirteen."

Blinking my eyes in surprise, I looked at the little Vampire who was gazing at me with unamused eyes. I dearly wished for her to be lying, but she was not. Now, I am conflicted. She was technically a Vampire, but she was also a child. She might have done a lot of atrocious acts, but knowing that she was young enough to not know what she was doing made it hard for me to take action. I wished I was not as compassionate at this moment.

"Why did you attack me?" I asked somberly.

"Hansel is dead, so Gretel no longer has any purpose. Gretel's sole purpose is to fill the hole in Hansel's heart. Gretel failed and Hansel is dead. I want you to kill me," the girl answered, full of conviction.

My hand subconsciously found its way to my hair. Things had gotten more complicated and I was too floored to make a decision. It was no wonder I barely felt malice from the girl. She came to me for an assisted suicide, after all. Gosh, I am just a teenager who was accidentally turned into a Vampire. I am not ready to face such a hard decision.

I spent a few seconds running my hand through my hair while meeting the expectant gaze of the girl before coming to a decision. I pulled out my phone and called the wisest person I had in my contact.

"A little girl is asking me to kill her. What should I do?"

"…tell me from the beginning, Hachiman."

"In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth—"

"I will end the call."

"Wait! I was just joking." I heard a sigh from behind the phone which meant the person was willing to listen to me. "Did I disturb your sleep, Kiss-Shot?"

"No. I was waiting for you to go back. Enough of that. Tell me what you did!"

So, I told Kiss-Shot what had happened. She was silent the entire time but heaved a deep and long sigh at the end of my recount. She then simply told me to kill the little Vampire, turning me silent. Before long, she told me to bring the little girl with me because she had already figured out I wouldn't have the heart to kill her.

"Uh… so…" I turned to the little Vampire and thought about what to say. "Want to be my daughter?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

I was also bewildered by what I said.

Sorry for not updating yesterday. My friend passed away, so I spent most of my free time helping her family prepare for the funeral. It was the least I could do for her after being absent from her life for so long. Cherish your friends, everyone.
