6 Chapter 3

They were back at school. Sheena and Kylie couldn't ignore their duties as teachers. They still needed the money. It took all of Sheena's will power to not run out of her classroom -who is most probably filled with non humans, and hide inside her car.

But seing her students who she grew accustomed to, she felt something tug at her chest. Her life may have been a lie, but the memories with them, her dear students, they were all true.

Sheena genuinely laughed, cried, and had fun with them. She really loved them as her students, and it just sucks that it was all a lie.

Smiling like she used to do, she faced her students and greeted them with her usual intro.

"Good morning class"

_

"I still hate mornings" Kylie said as she sat down infront of Sheena, Kyle, and Jackson.

Sheena and Kylie asked the two boys to meet them during their lunch break to talk about everything that happened. It was their time to make a plan. If not, who knows what would happen to them.

"Okay. As far as we know, every single one here in this whole cafeteria.. they're not humans, correct?"

Everyone nodded, urging Jackson to continue.

"So, if one of us accidentally lets them know that we're humans.. we will die. Now, why are we talking in a room full of aliens again?"

"Time may seem limitless, but once they find out, we're done for. We need to have a plan ASAP" Kylie answered, challenging Jackson to continue.

"Yeah. And they will find out because we're openly talking about it around them!" Jackson hissed. It garnered some looks, but Sheena gave a smile saying that it's nothing.

"Look. Both of you shut it. Kyle, Jack, we'll talk to you later instead. Besides, time's almost up anyways" Sheena said as she looked at her wrist watch.

After eating and throwing all their garbage, they stood up and walked towards the double doors. Something didn't settle well with Sheena, and she knew the others felt it too.

She felt like she was being watched. Sheena roamed her gaze around the whole cafeteria, stopping infront of a little girl. The girl was weirdly grinning from ear to ear. She shrugged it off, thinking that the girl must be daydreaming or looking at something funny.

After making sure Kyle and Jackson left, Sheena entered her classroom, instantly getting greeted by a shiver that made goosebumps litter her entire body.

A shuddering breath left her as she cast her gaze where the cafeteria is. She willed herself to walk, as her students was already giving her questioning gazes, and some were already asking if she's alright. Plastering a fake smile and a small okay, she greeted her students.

It didn't matter whether or not Sheena was an adult or not. The cafeteria encounter still made her freak out and ball her shaking hands into fists.

The girl who she saw at the library..

It followed them.

_

"Are you sure she followed you?" Kyle asked, still sceptical. Yes, it could've been an coincidence, the girl could be a daughter of their school principal for all they know!

But, shouldn't you follow your gut instincts? And at that time, her instincts were forcing her to run.

"Yes. Positive" Sheena said. It's been a while since the book had done something. And it isn't showing anymore clues either. The book was completely useless at this point.

"What if she's somehow connected to us? I mean, this whole thing," Kylie moved his hands in a circle around them," that's happening to us?"

"It could. But also couldn't. If we somehow, talk to this girl, we could loose track of our none existent plan and possibly loose more time" Kyle said.

"But, if she is involved, we can save more time" Sheena mumbled.

After a few silent moments, Jackson broke the ice.

"Tommorow. Let's talk to that girl tommorow"

"She could give us more answers than the book has to offer" he continued when no one spoke. They weren't afraid. At this point, everybody seemed accustomed to everything that's happening.

"Okay then. Our classes end at 5. Meet us outside the school. And if we somehow see the girl, we'll talk to her" Kylie said.

"Okay. Now that that's done, I'll whip us some dinner. Kyle, Jackson, if you may" Sheena said as she sauntered towards the kitchen, the two boys following her.

Kylie made her way towards her Now, supposed room. It's been a while since they 'moved' to Jackson's home and she's not gonna lie, she's a little bit homesick.

Who wouldn't be? The house that you grew up with exploded, along with the happy and sad memories.

Yes, she knows that everyone thinks of her as the scaredy cat of the group. And she's not denying it. Honestly, she'd rather forget everything she knows and go back to "normal".

But she can't do that. She has a family. Well, what's left of it. Her and Kyle were abandoned at birth. Yes it was cruel, but was it really true?

Nobody wanted to adopt them, and she didn't know why. What's wrong with her and Kyle? Kylie vaguely remembered seing children leaving the orphanage almost everyday with a smile on their face.

At the age of 10, she always asked herself at night, what was it that every child had that they didn't? They were healthy, well mannered, and clean. Why didn't people want them?

"Hey" Kylie felt the bed dip as delicate but strong arms wrapped around her, and she instantly knew who it was.

"I just want this to end" Kylie hated this. Always being comforted. She wanted to be strong for once. She wanted to be the big person, the shoulder to lean on.

But she can't. Being unwanted since the saw you were born and with people always leaving her, it took a toll on her mind.

"I know. And it will" She was thankful that she had a best friend like Sheena. Behind her soft features was a strong willed woman.

"Everything will be alright. We'll find the bottom of this, I promise" with that, Kylie slowly willed herself to close her eyes.

If you can't bear the pain, sleep through it.
