203 The Lingering Wishes

'It would be great if it was a world that I know of right now,' He thought while standing up, pouring the magical energy into the card making it fly out of his hand, forming a door-like portal in front of him.

"I guess we'll find out," Adam smiled and walked into the flashing portal, and soon he was in a similar situation.

'It is similar to what happens when I walk out of the front door,' He was in the universal corridor that he used to talk to the Administrators, from here he could see many universes like usual; and he could hear them calling for him.

But unlike before when he had a set destination, this time he could walk in any direction he wanted which was the use of a Random World Hopping ticket, he could enter any universe that drew his attention from here.

Normally he could just let the ticket decide for him….

'That world is still there,' But Adam's interest was already taken by one of the worlds, he didn't know what type of world it was but the amount of wishes it had concentrated on it, was insane.

Even more insane when he saw the size of that Universe, 'It is so small…' It was a normal universe from the look of it, and most importantly he felt something he couldn't ignore from there.

"I had a wish related to this world?" He could feel the remnants of his own wish that was tied to this world, and that is what got his attention.

It was the first time he had seen a trace of himself like this, 'What is this world?' Adam didn't know what that was but considering how the wishes worked it must've been something that mattered.

It was just that thinking wouldn't really lead too much, and there was only one way to find out about this.

"I guess I'll just check it out," Adam shrugged and entered this new universe.

And as soon as he passed the defensive layer, it became clear that this world…

'…is as normal as it gets,' Adam sensed no real Administrator and the world was running on auto, this was indeed possible but only when a world had no supernatural elements mixed in.

But leaving all of that aside, Adam proceeded to land in the region where all of these wishes were gathered along with his own.

'A …convenient store?' He looked puzzled, there was nothing in particular that seemed to be going on here, so what was it?

In all honesty, it was ridiculous that this many wishes were gathered in this place.

"I'll just wait while looking around," Adam shrugged and bought a few things from the store, like some snacks and a magazine to read.

The reason why he decided to wait here was because of the nature of the wishes, they might stem from a person but were most likely to stick to the place rather than to the human.

The same was true with grudges, which were in Lust's words wishes as well.

"Thank you for your patronage~!" The woman at the counter cheerfully spoke to him after he paid, and currently, Adam was in a sitting area in the store where he could eat his cup noodles while reading a fashion magazine.

'Bandanas are back in fashion again? Hmm… the Runway models are wearing weird shit as always,' That is how he spent an hour before he looked up, the reason he did that was that the person has arrived, the one that stirred up all of the wishes in this area.

The wishes may stay in one place, but they will react the moment the person it was for came within the area, this was why Adam was waiting here since he knew this would happen.

A young girl in her middle school uniform, thick glasses with her hair tied in twin braids. She looked like your everyday girl, but only because she had a very small presence.

'….What?' But what he didn't know was that it would be this girl, he was so shocked that the magazine in his hand dropped.

That was the face he knew, this girl was someone that 99% of the people who had read her series, would like to save. What happened to her was just that bad.

And Adam was one of them as well, the feeling of disgust he felt for the characters along with the amount of sympathy he had for her had stuck with him.

So, this was indeed shocking, as he had landed in one of the fiction, that he couldn't forget. And the worst thing was that it wasn't just fiction anymore.

In front of her eyes was a living world that would play out just as the story….

...That is unless someone changes this world's fate.

***

1 P.M. 3rd March, Tokyo, Japan.

"Hey, What should we do?"

"What do mean? Aren't we going to the Karaoke?"

"Oh yeah lol, the plan was made"

"Are you gonna propose to Kurogawa-chan?"

"Are you crazy man? Do you want me to die or something?"

"True lol, she would beat the shit out of you,"

"Don't laugh man…"

Outside of Miyamizu Middle School, the atmosphere was at an all-time high, because today the third year had graduated, and starting next month they'll be high schoolers.

Everyone was getting excited about what they would do now, most of them joking around with their friends as they got out of the school, planning on how they'd spend their day.

But that wasn't the case for everyone….

'It is so boring… No…' A normal nerdy-looking girl thought as she walked by, even on a day like this she was walking back home alone.

She had no plans for the day, and she had no one she could make plans with either.

Why?

'I couldn't make any friends….' For the past three years, she wasn't able to form any connections with the students around her.

So, that was the reason she ended up all alone on her graduation, all alone looking at them go around her merrily laughing and having fun; while she had to go back home alone.

'At a time where I should be going out and enjoying this time….' She couldn't help but feel the sadness deep in her heart, it wasn't like she could do anything at this moment aside from watching them.

And that was the worst part for her….

'I should've understood it faster…' She had wasted three years of her youth, giving up on making friends and when she started to realize it, she started thinking that she was above all of that.

And it had led to this, 'Why did I not try before?' She thought as frustration bubbled in her heart, but it was aimed at herself rather than others because her actions were the reason, why this happened in the first place.

"Hey, should we look at the new Cake shop in Shibuya?"

"Do you know the prices lol?"

"Ah come on, I've been saving up, ya know!!!"

Looking at the group of girls that were wearing the same uniform as her, they were giggling and walking in a group having fun as they went to enjoy their day, and yet here she was standing all alone with no one to call her friend, the only thing she could do was going back home.

'It's such a big difference….' Looking at the sheer disparity between them she felt like crying, but she held it in once again.

"Hey, are you alright?" It was then that a deep voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"W-What?" She was shocked as soon as she looked at the person who was talking to her.

A very defined face with snow-white hair and brown eyes, not to mention that he was quite tall and his skin was slightly tanned as well.

'Did I run into a delinquent?'
