Pancakes For Dinner?

'Yes!' Aqua was the same looking at the two boxes, 'Please be chocolate, no any flavor will do since the last one was also great.'

"How are you doing Aqua?" It was here that Aqua was brought out of his dreamland hearing Adam's question.

"I am doing fine uncle, how about you?" Aqua was so stunned by the he was greeted that he spoke formally instinctively.

'Agh, I've made a mistake, maybe I can blame it on the fact that I have worked on a movie and picked up some courtesy,' Aqua racked his brain to think of an excuse but…

"The same old," Adam just said with a shrug and went into the living room.

'Come to think of it, He is quite chill most of the time, it is almost like he doesn't see anything wrong with our behavior,' Aqua and Ruby don't really act like your typical kids, they used to try but now they had dropped all decorum, especially Ruby.

"Uncle, see Mama is on TV, just look at her, She looks so Cute!!!" Ruby pointed at the TV where she was watching the recording of a show Ai did last month for the nth time now.

Adam looked at the TV and suddenly the Ai on the screen looked his way and smiled, he knew it was a recording, he knew that it was a smile for the camera, and he knew that it was a fake smile, but…

"Yeah, Ai is cute," Adam said looking at the screen as the camera switched focusing on the host.

"Ohh! I knew uncle would understand," Ruby was happy that there was another addition to the Ai Fanclub, and it was none other than her favorite cake-baking uncle, Adam.

'As much as she is greedy for the cake, I think she actually likes Adam, might be because he is her type in her previous life? Or it could be that likes the presence of a dependable adult,' Aqua thought observing Ruby, it was then that she looked at him and gave him a thumbs up with a smug expression.

That expression roughly translated to…

'I have him in the bag, now that he is Mama's fan he will have no choice but to supply us with 3 cakes per day as his minimum offering for Mama,'

'I think I spoke a little too soon,' Aqua's face twitched as it seemed that Ruby viewed Adam as much lower than what he thought.

"Are you going to carry those boxes around the entire time?" Miyako asked with a sigh, she would've taken it from him but they looked heavy for some reason.

"Oh, yeah, Ruby wait here, I need to put the cake in the fridge," Adam said placing Ruby on the sofa gently.

"Hmm, Cake? Uncle, you brought cake?" Ruby asked with her eyes lighting up.

'Geez, you should've been the actor instead of me,' Even Aqua was nearly fooled by her, and that was while knowing her true intentions as he had seen her going around the house sluggishly muttering 'cake' over a thousand times in the last few days.

'So there is no way our good-natured uncle will be able to catch it,' Aqua looked at Adam who….

"Yes, I promised you guys that I make your favorite flavor next time I come, right?" Adam smiled as he saw Ruby show genuine joy, not to mention…

'Uncle Adam is too good, we need to protect him at all costs!!' Aqua was about to start a new fan club at this rate.

But leaving that aside…

"I want to eat it!" Ruby was not going to let this opportunity go and asked cutely but...

"You can't have the cake now, after dinner," Adam said with a smile as Ruby pouted.

'You can't resist this cuteness that I have inherited from Mama, fall under my spell!!' Ruby tried her ultimate move.

"Pweaseee~?" Tears automatically gathered in her eyes as she looked at Adam with upturned eyes, This was her last move, look as pitiful as possible so that the opposition crumbles, but there was intervention since Adam looked like he might just give her a slice.

"You guys just had snacks and now you want to eat again? Denied," Miyako said while folding her arms, there was only a little time before dinner so these kids would need to wait.

"Yeah, the dinner is just around the corner, so let's wait ok, I promise it will taste better if you wait," Adam said with a smile and Ruby looked devastated while he walked into the kitchen with Miyako.

"How…could….she?" Ruby fell to her knees and her body trembled, she looked like the sky was crumbling.

"Stop overacting," Aqua sighed but Ruby turned towards him in an instant with fury in her eyes…

"How can she do this to us when we have done so much for her?" Ruby looked like she was betrayed by someone she knew from childhood, which was partially true but…

"We've done nothing for her aside from creating problems since we've known her," Aqua knew what Ruby was talking about but that too was more of a problem than a helping hand.

'She is still married after all, and if she has to make a move then this little family that we have will most likely…' In the end, Aqua shook his head looking at the kitchen.

He didn't know what to think about this since he was torn.

Inside the kitchen, Adam placed the cakes on the counter while making some space in the fridge for them.

"Need some help?" Adam looked towards the source of the voice and all he saw was meaty thighs in his face, who they belonged to was obvious.

"Hmm?" Miyako was wearing a pink dress that stopped in the middle of her thighs with a cream-colored cardigan on top, she tilted her head at his action of looking at her face to let her free-flowing hair move.

'Good thing I moved my eyes quickly,' Adam sighed slightly before speaking.

"…Yeah, there are too many items here,"

"Ok," Miyako squatted down properly next to Adam and the two started to sort out the things.

"Were you guys thinking of having a party?" Adam asked this because of the number of ingredients in the fridge but…

"No, Ai ordered them, and as you can see she overdid it," Miyako sighed since she didn't know what Ai was thinking, such a thing happened before as well, and like Adam pointed out it was on the day she had a party when he came there.

'Wait, was it…' Miyako looked at Adam who was looking at the vegetables thoroughly as if to check them.

"So, what do you have planned for dinner tonight?" Adam asked and Miyako was pulled out of her thoughts in an instant.

"Well... I have nothing planned," Miyako played with a strand of her hair as she felt bashful.

'Isn't he being too direct? No, it is not that I dislike it, but he is really asking me about 'that' after he was missing for a few days and wasn't picking up my calls?' Miyako blushed slightly but then, 'Isn't that like the typical playboy move? Is he thinking of me as an easy woman? No wait, from what I did, it can surely leave that type of impression!'

'No, No, Adam isn't like that, there must be a good reason he wasn't around for the last few days,' Miyako shook her head quickly, she didn't know why but she just trusted Adam even while having a cheater husband.

And Miyako had always believed herself to be a smart woman but…

'I don't know why, is it because of that? Oh No,' Miyako felt more embarrassed the more she thought about it.

But the pink clouds hovering around her were soon blown away because…

"Hmm, then should I help you with dinner?" Adam asked and Miyako turned to stone on the spot.

'So it was about making dinner...' Miyako felt like she was about to crumble away and for once she didn't care even if she did, the embarrassment was unbearable for her.

She thought too much and her mind went in too many directions that she was ashamed to recount them.

"There are a lot of items here that will.... Hmm, Miyako are you listening?" Adam saw that Miyako was being listless so he asked what was going on.

"Nothing, you were saying…" Miyako pulled herself back together but she still sounded dead.

'She must really be tired, I guess taking care of the kids isn't that easy,' Adam thought as he observed Miyako nod slowly to his words while he told her what he was planning for dinner.

"Alright time for cooking," Adam folded his sleeves with a smile and Miyako thought that this would be a good opportunity.

"Are you going to make Pancakes for dinner as well?"
