102 I Am Against This Marriage!

"Let's go, Adam," Rias smiled at Adam sweetly as he sighed, he still didn't know what made her so happy but…

'Well, I guess that doesn't matter as long as she is happy,' Adam shook his head as Rias held his hand and activated the transfer magic, he didn't resist and the two were sent to the Gremory estate instantly outside a big door in a grand hallway.

'Hmm, her family really is rich,' Adam thought as Rias opened the door to what seemed like the estate's reception room.

'So, they are Rias's family,' Adam thought looking at the people in front of him, there were two men and one woman in the room, 'It must be because they are devils, but they look really young.'

'I mean, I am sure that I am older…. And I am about to ask the hand of their daughter in marriage..... Let's not think about it….' But Adam shook his thoughts off since everyone was looking at him and as he shook them off, he heard someone…

"Don't look at him like that, there is no need for him to bring anything, he is here to ask the hand of Rias, not Rias Gremory, Hmph!" Rias crossed her arms on her breasts and she looked almost too happy to say those words for some reason but…

"Seriously you two need to stop trying to gauge him out so much, this isn't really a way to treat guests now, is it?" And the one to break the silence was none other than the lady of the Gremory House, Venelana Gremory.

Her voice did make the Zeoticus and Sirzechs look at her, even Rias and Adam were drawn to her voice which sounded gentle yet authoritative.

"Not to mention that he is the one Rias chose herself," Venelana said with a small smile before she stood up and walked over to Adam.

"My name is Venelana Gremory, and I am Rias's mother, it is nice to meet you, Adam, She had told me a lot about you," Venelana said as Rias blushed slightly but didn't say anything.

"It is nice to meet you as my lady, Though it is quite a surprise to hear that you are Rias's mother, I actually thought you were her sister," Adam said making Venelana smile since which woman didn't like to be called young enough to pass off as a sixteen-year-old's sister, but that wasn't all of it, "But looking at you it isn't a surprise that you are her mother."

Adam was not joking when he says that, since it was very clear where Rias got her looks and figure from, Venelana was a woman with proportions as extraordinary as her face.

"Oh My, you are such a flatterer," Venelana giggled elegantly while covering her mouth.

'Since when did he have such a glib tongue?' Rias thought standing on the side, he just called her and mother beautiful at the same time, but Adam was just trying to make a good impression here.

'I'll pull his ear later.' Rias pouted as the blush deepened, but to no one's surprise, she was happy to be called beautiful.

"It is hardly flattery," Adam just opted to say the truth and this just made Venelana happy since….

"I can see why Rias is so infatuated with you," Venelana said but this seemed to be the limit since....

"Mama!" Rias spoke up with a blush, she actually didn't want Adam to hear the things she had said to her mother yesterday.

Although it was her plan to get her mother on her side but in the end she ended up just boasting about Adam the whole afternoon since her mother wouldn't let her go, which was the main reason for her tiredness from yesterday.

"Ufufu, It has been so long since I have seen her being such a sweetheart, I have to thank you for this Adam," Venelana said as she saw Rias stomp her foot, she was honestly quite happy at this moment since this was good.

"I am against this marriage!!" Sirzechs stood up and made his opinion known.

'Wait not this route,' Adam thought hearing this as Rias looked ready to speak

But someone was faster….

"Oh My, what was that?" Venelana looked at him and he....

"I am just joking mother, I always wanted to say that, Ahaha," Sirzechs laughed but no one else thought that joke was funny.

"So, are you against it?" Venelana asked and Sirzechs shook his head with a strained smile, he was about to actually oppose this marriage but just like his mother had said…

'Rias seems happy, So, I guess I'll let it be for now,' Sirzechs thought while looking at Adam who gave him a nod.

'He is as enigmatic as I have heard, I can't even sense anything from him at this moment,' Sirzechs also did the same as he sat down with a smile before looking at his father who still hadn't spoken a word.

"Thanks my lady," Adam said to Venelana who smiled and….

"Don't you think it is about time you call me mother? Since this engagement is pretty much confirmed," Venelana said with a smile as she saw Adam looking surprised.

'What?' Even Rias had her doubts since it felt too easy for some reason, she was actually ready to meet some resistance but…

"What do you say dear?" Venelana looked at Zeoticus who was looking at Rias and Adam.

"Rias, do you really want to go through with this?" He asked and the answer was simple.

"Yes," Rias spoke as she thought that this was a perfect time, and she shouldn't get cold feet at this point so, "I want to marry Adam."

"…" Adam looked at Rias as she looked at him from the corner of her eyes with a smile.

This was a big moment for him, and it would be a lie if he said that his heart didn't skip a beat at this moment hearing Rias, and he would've jumped around and danced around like an idiot, but he can't do that now since…

'Yeah, it is bad to let her say this out alone,' Adam shook his head and stepped forward.

"Mr. Gremory, I want to marry your daughter," The words left Adam's mouth before he could even think, and then…

'What the fuck was that!!!!!??????????' Adam didn't know why the words he said were so normal? Couldn't he have said something cool and appear like a dashing young man, instead he just said bland words.

But unknown to his thoughts Zeoticus looked at him and he only asked one question.

"Can you protect her?"

And hearing this question there was only one answer Adam could give…

"No one else will be able to protect better than me," Adam said the words he believed to be an undeniable fact at least in this place.

"Oh My," Venelana was quite surprised by that since Adam didn't seem to be unaware that the strongest devil was literally sitting there and he still said that…

'Yeah, I need to pull his ear later... just a little…' Rias blushed as her mother kept looking at her with a teasing look, but she was quite happy inside to hear that.

"I see, then as a father I see no problem with this marriage," Zeoticus said and Rias was even happier since this all got resolved so quickly but it wasn't like this had ended just yet.

"But now I must look at this as the Head of the Gremory Clan, and I can't approve of this engagement for now," Zeoticus said and…

"Father you promised!" Rias was of course angry but it was her alone that acted that way since…

"Rias dear, let your father finish," Venelana stopped Rias before she causes a bigger scene.

'Yeah, I should calm down, If he tries to bring in the fact that I am the heir of the family or something, I'll just run away with Adam,' Rias thought already making her plans for later while waiting for her father to speak.

"Yes I promised you that you are allowed to choose your own husband, but there are some things that need to be settled before that happens," Zeoticus said as Rias frowned, but she didn't speak any further and waited for her father to continue.

"Do you understand why I am disapproving of this?" But instead of answering it himself, Zeoticus looked at Adam.
