120 Section 119: The High-quality Meat

It's almost dawn, and yet I couldn't sleep soundly in this strange place. Just before I went to bed, he told me that he's going to get us some meat the next day. He found this one place that had all the meat everyone needed. He's so convinced that we will get meat tomorrow, it's somehow unsettling. Maybe, it's just me and my negative thinking.

Howard went out and didn't return for a while, I wonder if something happened outside. I've been trying to close my eyes and doze myself to sleep. But my efforts are futile, my anxiety is irredeemable. Not long after, there's a gentle knock on the storage door. An adult spoke across the room, I recognized the pacifist voice of an adult I hated.

"Excuse me, I am a bit lost" the voice spoke. "Anyone here?".

It's Mr. Eli, Joel's parent who knocked on the door. The woman Mira stood up and suspiciously opened the door to him.
