4 Task one

As expected, the next morning Daddy Hu received a phone call from the teacher and Bai Lianhua was speechless at the audacity of this teacher. Even Mom Hu rolled her eyes at the teacher and told her husband to just go to work.

Mom Hu then dropped Bai Lianhua off and both went to the teacher's office. The teacher reprimanded Bai Lianhua for being disobedient, not asking for permission to leave the classroom and faking illness so she didn't have to attend the class. Bai Lianhua couldn't help but argue that there is no evidence for any of this. "Teacher, you should ask the nurse at the sickbay - she was there when l went for a checkup so she should know whether l was faking or not."

The teacher didn't respond at all and gave Bai Lianhua more demerits. She needed 120 merits to finish that semester and if she couldn't get them, she would have to repeat the class. Just now the teacher removed 5 points which meant her current points were 135 merits. This teacher is too much!

Bai Lianhua went back to class and her desk mate asked: "How come you are so late today? What happened? You missed the self study sessions!"

"I met our crazy teacher this morning and he spent the whole time scolding me infront of my mother. Hey, l can't control the timing of my stomach aches ok!"

The teacher walked in and everyone remained silent - his eyebrows were furrowed and he was frowning. Everyone could tell he was in a clearly bad mood. "Everyone in this class better shut up and study if you know what's good for you. Hu Lianhua! Stand up!"

Again? Bai Lianhua was screaming injustice in her heart but she was calm on the surface. She couldn't help but think this was an enemy from her previous life otherwise why was he targeting her so much. She stood up.

"Teacher…l haven't done anything wrong this time! If you keep calling me out, l will complain to the principle! Why are you always picking on me sir? Did l steal your money? Did l steal your hair? Sir, l tell you that balding is a sign of old age okay!"

People in the class were all stifling giggles. The teacher had no choice but to let me sit down. Later, at recess, some other friends of the original owner came to me: "Yo! You've become so brave these days! Good for you! Our teacher is actually bullying you."

Bai Lianhua nodded and then opened her breakfast box to eat breakfast. Another classmate interrupted her to say that someone was waiting for her in the garden. To go or not to go? That is the question!

She quickly wiped her mouth and then walked to the gardens. She saw Wu Chenren standing there and when she stood opposite him, he blushed. Hey, he's quite cute! No wonder that Yue Linlan liked him so much! Bai Lianhua still thought her aesthetics are better - who wants to date their little brother? Who wants a man more beautiful than them?

"C-classmate Hu…l'm…l…here!" Wu Chenren stuffed his letter in her hands and then waited eagerly for her answer. Bai Lianhua looked at the letter and to sum it up, he was asking her to date him.

She looked at him up and down and then asked loudly: "Classmate Wu, don't you have a fiancée?" His eyes widened and he was even more flustered. "That…" but Bai Lianhua interrupted him: "I can't date someone who has a fiancée. Not to mention the fact that l don't like you and your fiancée is my sister. We look almost alike! I have to ask what you like about me. I cannot afford your big Buddha - l don't know how the Yue family will deal with me. Stay away from me."

After dropping such harsh words, Bai Lianhua gave the letter back and walked away in a rush. She was still excited that she broke that flag. If Yue Linlan still came after her after this, see how she would deal with her!

The rest of the day passed and she was back at home. She pulled up her surveillance panel and watched everything that happened.

In the other classroom before the confession, Yue Linlan was sending Wu Chenren glances from time to time and when they would make eye contact, both people would blush.

["Tch! I kind of feel bad for Yue Linlan - she's clearly just a substitute. And that Wu Chenren! He is clearly making misunderstandings making it seem like he likes her. No wonder she retaliated ruthlessly! Such a pig teammate!"]

The school bell rang and it was time for recess. Wu Chenren hurriedly checked his bag for a letter and then rushed out of the classroom. He even accidentally pushed Yue Linlan out of the way. She shouted in frustration and the whole class gave her strange looks. Some of the girls even rolled their eyes and continued talking in twos and threes. She stood there by herself and no one came to speak to her.

Yue Linlan started tearing up and then she also ran out of the classroom to the bathroom. There, she cried heartbreakingly for about 10 minutes and then she walked out to wash her face. She looked in the mirror and she really looked like a ghost with her pale face and red eyes. Her mascara also ran down her face and her makeup was smudged.

["Isn't this a bit of an extreme reaction? Even when my scumbag ex was friends with that vixen, l never cried like that! I get that being rejected by your crush is harsh but it's not the end of the world!"

Bai Lianhua noticed she was reassuring a character in a screen and she wanted to slap herself. It's not like Yue Linlan could hear her.]

Yue Linlan walked slowly back to the classroom after freshening up and she walked past the garden. There she saw Wu Chenren blushing and giving a letter to a girl. She couldn't see the girls face but she could see her back.

She heard all the words the girl said and gritted her teeth. Then she continued watching and was shocked when the girl claimed to be her sister.

["Oh no! I shot myself in the foot! I shouldn't have said my identity! From where she is seeing this, she wouldn't have known my identity! Bai Lianhua you are a fool!"]

Yue Linlan walked away quickly and went back to the classroom. Wu Chenren looked a bit shocked because of Bai Lianhua's words. Then he said: "I won't give up! I'll make her like me! I'll dissolve the marriage contract with Yue Linlan!"

["Wu Chenren you bastard! You're supposed to be a scum not a righteous boy in love! Stop messing up the script! Why is everything not going the way it is supposed to!" System you better answer me! Is anyone reborn or transmigrated?

"No. And a reminder that you only have 2 more questions left!"

"You're so harsh man!" Bai Lianhua was really despairing.

"I am genderless please. Don't just rashly assume my gender." The system replied snarkily and Bai Lianhua huffed in anger. She still kept watching the surveillance though.]

Wu Chenren then went back to the classroom and classes resumed. The rest of the recordings were boring and nothing much else happened.

Bai Lianhua was surprised that even after what happened today, no one moved. Wu Chenren didn't say a thing to his parents and Yue Linlan was playing the affectionate daughter to her parents - it was too affectionate that Bai Lianhua switched off the recording in disgust.

"Isn't she a bit too starved for love though? Why is she trying so hard?"
