7 It's a Deal

Darn, I almost forgot about the due of the report. I took the short cut from the printing shop to my faculty block. It's a passage where I will walk pass the designing faculty. This faculty has their own cafeteria unlike the computing where we have to go other places to eat. This is also the reason why it is hard to meet people who eats here.

I looked at my watch and walked as fast as I could and I saw a familiar face at one of the cafeteria table. It's Stacy. Ignore her, just ignore her. I continued walking but her troubled face held me back. I turned around and walked towards her table.

"What's with that bitter face?"

"Jon!?" Stacy was shocked from my appearance.

"Was it that much of a surprise?"

"A little. People of your faculty never comes around this area. What brings you here?" Stacy's expression calmed down.

"Shortcut. Anyway what's troubling you?"

I moved closer to her to look at the screen of the laptop that is placed in front of her. It was blue screen. I sighed. I pulled the chair opposite of her and sat down. I turned her laptop over to my side and plugged in my hard drive. I rewrote the laptop using the program that I've been working on. After a few minutes, the laptop was as good as new.

"That was... Amazing!" Stacy looked at me jaw dropped.

"It's nothing much. I should thank you, I was able to test out the program I wrote."

"Jon! Have you submitted the report?" A guy came over to me panting.

"Ah Roland! Sorry I was helping my friend with her laptop. Can you help to submit?" I passed the report to Roland and he left.

"Who is that?" Stacy smiled and asked.

"Roland. My best groupmate."

"Introduce!" Stacy leaned forwards and looked into my eyes.

"Aren't you interested in me?" I looked at her in suspect."

"Why should I throw myself on you when you only have Joelle in your eyes?"

I eyes widen, I tried to stay calm but Stacy is just smirking at me. It's as if her face was telling me, 'Quit trying to fool me. I know it all'. I will have to play it cool. I leaned a little forward to her.

"Hah! You are just trying to play mind game with me to get me jealous just so I will accept you as one of my girl heh." I smiled and winked.

"Quit it. Why do you purposely have to play out your player role when you can just... talk normal? Joelle hates player." Stacy just blank stare at me.

"This is how I talk. It doesn't matter if she hates player, it's none of my business." I gulped.

"You talked normally to me, stop pretending. I'm not really interested in you, just wanted to get some popularity from you. No point wasting your energy, I won't be your next fling."

I am speechless. We aren't friends, this is the second time meeting her yet, she sees me like I'm transparent. Jonathan calm down. Just play it cool. I looked at her and as I was opening in mouth to say something, Stacy continued.

"I'm rooting for you, believe it or not. Chris is too, boring. Joelle needs adventure, she IS adventure but the safe type. You are exactly the kind she needs, just remove the 'player' trait."

"...What do you get from this?" I looked at her in suspicion.

"Rolland. Also, a happy friend too." Her smile is like a devil who has just plotted an evil plan. "...What do I need to do first?"

"Make a deal with me and I will tell you what should you do next." Her smile is even wider.

"Deal! It's a forever deal as long as you are still in contact with Rolland okay?" I held my hand out and shook hers.

"Alright. First, you should be active in your club activities. Second, be on her good side. Being helpful or showing your positive potential. Third, whatever it is, just don't get in any contact with Kim from your club. Joelle and Kim are the worse combo." Stacy immediately turned into a lecturer. I'm very amazed.

"Kim is my girlfriend..."

"Take my advice or get heartbroken."

I looked at her, I'm speechless. Joelle hates player, to get on her good side I must make sacrifices. She is worth it right?
