Distance : Due to enormity of Universe astronomers usually use these distances.

1) Parsecs : One parsec is approximately 3.26 light-years.

2) Light Years : A unit of astronomical distance equivalent to the distance that light travels in one year, which is 9.4607 × 1012 km (nearly 6 million million miles).

3) Kiloparsec : 1000 Parsecs.

4) GigaParsecs : One gigaparsec is one billion parsecs — one of the largest units of length commonly used. One gigaparsec is about 3.26 billion light-years, or roughly 114 of the distance to the horizon of the observable universe.

Question is whether to keep using light years and kilometers or actual terms. Although scientific terms sound extremely odd. Eg: he travelled a parsec in a sec..

Weird.
