20 thats where everone went...wait what?

Tying the man up, I checked to make sure everything was tight and that there was no way for him to get loose.

Once done with that, I crouched down and looked the man in the eye again.

"Don't go anywhere, we have some unfinished business." I said with a smile, before I gave his face a few friendly pats, causing him to groan in pain.

Standing back up, I turned and looked down the hall they had come from.

'Right, here we go.' I thought to myself, as I evened my breathing, and focused my mind.

Raising the pistol to my mid chest, I slowly started down the hallway, sticking to the side, so if any threat entered, I would have the advantage.

I set a steady pace, nothing too fast, but also nothing too slow.

As I walked, I would look into the small windows that were on all the doors I passed.

Every few rooms I passed had a person inside.

Some looked to be simply asleep, while some looked to only be alive because of all the equipment they were attached to.

Coming to the end of the hall, I saw a door with "stairs" written on a small plaque by the door.

Again, I slowly opened the door, and looked in.

Waiting a few moments for any sounds, I entered the concrete stairwell when I didn't hear anything.

I was apparently on the top floor of the four story hospital, which made things easier for me, as I didn't need to worry about anyone being at my rear.

Slowly I went down the stairs, ready for a possible threat to arise.

Going down two flights, I came across a door to the next level, and for the first time since I had awoken, the sounds of other people.

And not just men wanting to kill me, but instead women.

Slowly leaning to the side, I looked through the small glass window.

From where I looked, I was able to see into a large ward that had medical beds lined up on both sides of the room with open curtains.

But what really caught my attention was what was at the end of the ward.

In a group, a number of nurses sat huddled together on the floor with three men standing to one side of the group, all of whom had large guns hanging from slings.

As I watched, one of the men dropped a large black duffle bag on the ground, and started to dig inside, while his two friends made sure none of the nurses tried to run.

After a few moments, the man pulled out a large vest, with strange stuff attached to its front, making the vest bulky.

To my surprise, the man forcefully put it on one of the young nurses.

That's when it hit me. 'It's a bomb!'. I squinted my eyes, and got a better look at everything that was attached to the vest.

In the front, were large bricks of C4 with wires coming from the tops that all got wrapped together into one large twist of cords that led to a small black box, that the man just put in the young woman's hand, and forcefully pressed her thumb on a butting at the center of the box.

As I watched, my brain ran through everything I knew about explosives.

After a few seconds of pondering through my mind, I came up empty handed…kinda.

What I did know was the bare minimum about how bombs work, nowhere near the knowledge to deal with what I was seeing.

But of course, I could be wrong.

There was the chance that all I needed to do was pull or cut one wire, and it was deactivated.

But guessing since these guys were able to successfully attack a military hospital that had MP's as guards, whatever hardware they cooked up, wasn't going to be anything simple.

What I did know for certain though, was I needed to do something about this.

Watching the group of armed terrorists, I waited for my chance to enter the room.

My hope was now that they just strapped a bomb to a lady, they would leave, and get away from the bomb.

Allowing me to enter, and deal with it before something happened.

But unfortunately, they seemed to want to conversate with each other.

One even had the nerve to laugh at a joke, one of the others cracked.

Thankfully, I didn't have to wait for long, before another man walked through one of the large doors that led into the ward.

Him coming into the room, distracted the three men, causing them to turn and face him, away from my direction.

Acting fast, I pushed the door open, and slipped inside.

Making sure the door didn't make any sound as it closed behind me, I crouched down, and quickly made my way to the closest curtain that hung by one of the empty hospital beds.

As I went, I saw a few of the nurses noticed me.

Giving them a slight rise of my free hand, I hoped they wouldn't give notice to their guards of my presence.

Finally reaching the large hanging curtain, I stood up, and leaned over slightly to get a peek at the group of men.

All four of them were deep in a heavy conversation that seemed to be becoming heated.

As I got a look at the men, something stood out to me.

All of them were a mix of ethnicity.

In my head, I had believed terrorists to just be people from middle eastern countries.

But from what I was seeing, that wast the case.

Maybe it came from western movies that always portrayed the terrorists as such, or from my own experiences in the sandy deserts of Afghanistan.

But what I saw now was four Caucasian men. Two with lightly colored hair, one with striking red hair, and the last, was a man of possibly Russian descent.

All of them wore regular everyday clothes, that if I saw on the streets, would never suspect to be such terrible people.

Which didn't actually surprise me.

For most of my adult life, I was always aware that most people are putting on a front to show the world, while keeping their true face hidden, and their dark side in the shadows.

Distracted in my thoughts, I missed seeing one of the men, the red head, pull two brown bottles from the same bag that the vest was pulled from.

As I watched, the man pulled a pocket knife from his jacket pocket, and stab the caps of the bottles.

'What the hell?' I thought, as the red headed man handed a bottle to one of the other men.

As he handed the bottle to his friend, the familiar bottle came to mind.

'Hydrogen peroxide?' I thought, as they started to squeeze the bottles, sending the peroxide from the small holes cut into the caps, in all directions.

From the nurses to the curtains and beds.

The two men made sure to spray everything close to them with it.

'Why Hydrogen peroxide?' I thought.

"That should be good enough," one of them said, as he threw the empty bottle.

"Yeah, we only have fifteen minutes to get out of here." Another said, as he looked down at his watch.

"Wait, I almost forgot." The red headed man said, as he walked back to the bag, and pulled out a small object.

Gleaming in the light for only a second, I was able to spot the lock as the man grabbed the young nurse by the vest, and clipped it into a pair of mettle rings that were sewn into the vest.

Locking the bomb tightly to her.

"Right, that should do." He said, before smiling at his buddies.

'Basterds.' I thought, as they picked up the large bag, that still seemed to have items inside.

Once they got to the large double sided doors, I saw the man holding the bag pull out a large chain, before the doors were shut, and the rattling of the chain could be heard.

'Idiots didn't even realize there's a fucking exit staircase in this room.' I thought as I shook my head.

'They clearly have a plan that has been thoroughly Thought out, but they leave a getaway…amateurs.' I couldn't help but add.

Waiting a few seconds after the chains had stopped, I poked my head out from behind the curtain, giving the room a once over, to make sure nobody had stayed behind to keep the nurses in line.

But, not seeing anyone, I lightly stepped from behind the curtain, as I raised a hand to my mouth, to keep the nurses who were seeing me for the first time quiet.

Coming closer to them, I spoke.

"Don't worry and stay calm, I'm here to help." I said, giving them all my best smile.

Which might have worked a little too well.

I'm using these chapters to show where the MC lies, when it comes to his regular human abilities he gained through the military, and his hand to hand fighting days.

While the last or last few chapters of this minney arc, will be about him gaining some of his powers, and him using them for the first time.

If you spot any issues, or things I might have missed, please let me know.

Also, if there are ways I can better improve on the story, please let me know. I am always willing to improve, and would always love some constructive feedback that would help.

Thanks as always.
