20 Chapter 20

She then focused her attention on work, not wanting to be constantly at war with herself, until she didn't realise the clock showed it was lunchtime.

--

Leonard entered Calista's room without knocking on the door, so he immediately got a loud protest because Calista certainly wanted him to follow her rule.

"You'll also get used to it time by time, darling."

"I'm used to your unruly attitude."

"Good girl." Said Leonard while gently stroking Calista's hair which was immediately brushed aside roughly.

Leonard seemed to exhale heavily, then grabbed Calista's wrist into his grip.

"Come on, it's time for lunch."

"Oh gosh, I almost forgot about it, sorry."

"It's nothing new that you forget your promise to me." Leonard gently caressed Calista's cheek.

"You're not mad?"

Leonard just smiled. His smile could soothe anyone's heart.

"Get mad for what? Unless you cheat on me then I'll be furious." Leonard asked back, teasing her.

"Ish, just dating, you don't have to talk about cheating," Calista whispered.

"We are both adults, honey. No need to describe in detail with words. But, enough with our actions. It shows that we are a couple."

"What??" Calista was immediately shocked to hear that.

"Our kiss, honey. Our kiss was enough to explain so, don't try to dodge it again," he whispered softly while kissing her earlobe.

And, of course, this small thing could send small-scale electric shocks that were ready to tear her senses apart.

Calista's eyes immediately closed, feeling the warmth when Leonard's actions grew bolder by hugging her body tightly.

Not wanting to lose control, Leonard immediately let go of the hug and then blew Calista's eyes so that the grey crystals opened perfectly.

Leonard intertwined his fingers between thin fingers, guiding Calista into the elevator. Even though he repeatedly received loud protests, he didn't pay any heed. Instead, the grip on her wrist got tighter.

He wanted everyone to know, especially Matius, that Calista is already owned by Leonard Fidel Christiano.

"Let me go, Leo!"

Calista stared at him with a sharp glare.

"Don't try to get away."

"It's in the office. Watch your attitude!"

"You don't need to remind me, Calista, I know what I have to do."

As he passed through the lobby, he immediately let go of his grip and shifted to her slender waist, hugging her very possessively.

He no longer paid attention to the stares of the employees who looked at him questioningly.

"That's Ms Calista."

"Hmmm."

"So Mr Leo is dating Ms Calista?"

"I guess so."

"Wow, Mr Leo is so lucky, he's always surrounded by beautiful women."

"Yes, but for Ms Calista, it is a disaster. She doesn't know what Mr Leo is..."

They all immediately stopped their conversation when Matius passed in front of them.

"Good afternoon, Mr Matius," they greeted in unison.

"Good afternoon," Matius replied, then stopped in his tracks, showering them all with questioning looks.

"Why are you all still gathered here? Don't you want to have lunch? It's break time."

"Emmm, we are just about to leave for lunch, sir. Please go first."

"Let's go before lunchtime is over."

"Okay, sir."

Without realising it, a pair of eyes stared at Calista intently since she left the elevator door.

After he was satisfied looking at Calista's beautiful face which he always missed, his gaze turned to Leonard, especially to the strong hands that were tightly embracing her slender waist. He wanted to break his hand for daring to touch his little girl.

Unable to bear it, he immediately called Calista. She then stopped walking. The familiar baritone voice made Calista's world seem to stop spinning until her body froze for a moment.

She slowly turned her body without being able to hold back the tears that just flowed down her smooth cheeks. She then immediately rushed into his arms, ignoring Leonard by her side.

The gazes showed deep longing. The man then took Calista's body into his arms again. He kissed the top of Calista's head with great affection. After chatting for a while, the two of them walked out of the office.

Meanwhile, Leonard was still standing. His body instantly froze at sight in front of his eyes, seeing the intimacy that had just pierced into his eyes and his heart was burnt.

Not wanting to be seen by the employees, Leonard stepped into the elevator, which took him back to the floor where his room was.

He never thought that Calista could forget him so quickly and fell into another man's arms. His hands immediately clenched into fists until his knuckles turned white. His jaw clenched, indicating that he was currently furious.

"Leo, let's have lunch outside," said Kiara from the doorway. When she got an unusual look, Kiara decided to enter Leonard's room."

"Hey, what are you doing?"

"Please leave me alone."

"Something must have happened, right? Tell me! What's wrong?"

Leonard showered Kiara with bright eyes.

"Can't you hear me, Kia? I want to be alone!" Leonard's voice began to rise.

"Hey, what's this? Why are you mad at Kia?" Matius's sudden arrival made both of them turn their heads at the same time.

"You too, what are you doing in my room? If there's an office matter to discuss, we'll discuss it after lunch."

"I don't want to talk about office matters."

"So what?"

"This is Calista's problem, I saw her out with..."

"This is at the office, so don't discuss unimportant things. It's none of your business if Calista goes out with anyone though.

"But Calista went with a man, won't you be jealous if she is your dream girl?"

"Dream girl?" Kiara whispered.

"So you like Calista?" Kiara wondered, looking into Leonard's brown eyes for the truth.

"And you, Matius, aren't you the one..." Kiara paused, thinking for a while.

"Oh gosh, so I misunderstood. I thought you were the one who liked Calis, it turns out…"

"We are at the office, not a place to gossip. Get out!" Leonard snapped.

Not wanting to provoke his anger, Matius and Kiara decided to leave the room, leaving him, who was still furious with jealousy.

"So, Leo likes Calista? Since when?" Matius asked.

"Just ask him directly, don't ask me," Kiara replied.

Meanwhile, Leonard was still burning with jealousy. He clenched his fists again until his knuckles turned white. Anger was clearly shown on his handsome face.

'Is that man your lover, Calista? Oh, now I know. So, that guy is the reason why you've always denied your feelings for me. What an unloyal woman.' Leonard thought.

Unable to stand his jealousy, he punched his hand against the wall repeatedly. He also no longer paid attention to his fingers that had started to bleed.
