1 Prologue

1985, Somewhere in New York

Calmly sitting in the round table was a man with an intense aura of power, surrounded by shadows as the people below them drunkenly danced with others. The man observed him before deciding if his companion was telling the truth, as soon as he saw the man, he knew that who was sitting in that couch was the real deal.

He didn't care about the rowdy group of adults behind him, the loud music blaring, bright colorful lights burning the human's retinas and the scent of hormones. He was more focused in the man, not one approached the man probably because their instinct told them not to.

When he decided that the man was all alone, he walked towards to the man sitting and met his gaze. Calculating, cold and... deadly. The man nodded to the spare seat across him, not saying a word but he knew that disobeying him would mean his wrath.

He watched as the shadows almost enveloped them in awe since he did not met a person who could toy with the shadows. "I hear you asked for my service." He said but somehow it felt like a question.

The man didn't say anything as he stared at his drink like it was more interesting than him. He gritted his teeth, not used to being ignored. He waited with his little patience, he didn't want to anger the man across him, knowing how much power he had over everyone.

Finally, he spoke. "People in my cabal always bow down to me."

His nostrils flared. "We are not in—"

The man looked up from his drink, his eyes turning black and a brow arched in question as if daring him to continue.

He bowed, his clenched fist pressed against his heart. "Oepg Rnvrjlii."

The man nodded in acknowledgment, he could feel the man's satisfaction.

He looked up and saw the man smirking. "What brings you here, ao wgnjsl."

"I have a mission for you." the man took a sip of his drink.

He didn't say anything and waited for the man to elaborate.

The man had that lazy insouciance, cold detachment, shady sophistication and angelic insolence. Dark brown hair, blue eyes, nice jawline and his hair was mid long, side-swept style with mid length hair. He was quite impressed that no women dared to approached the man.

"There is a woman—"

Of course, a woman. He thought to himself.

"—she ran away from her family, we've been looking for her for decades. I'm hiring you to locate her and..."

He knew now what he was ordered to do. Bring her back to the man, unharmed.

"...wake her up." the man said.

"Excuse me?" wait, what? He didn't expect that, most of his clients regarding ran away women would want him to bring them back. Wake her what?

The man looked irked but let it slipped. "She stayed in this realm for too long, I cannot be with her without invoking the presence of the unwanted... individuals. If you wake her up, she'll return to me and I'll bring her home."

He frowned, knowing well enough about what he was implying. "When I do wake her up, what happens?"

He didn't like what this man was ordering him to do, locating a woman and waking her up. He didn't even know what was her category or cabal.

"Any information regarding the woman?"

"I heard from my people that other clans called her Golden Beauty, surrounding herself with a group of women. I care little for those around her, do what you think must. The end goal is to wake her up and she'll find me."

Fuck. He heard about that woman, an enchantress with unearthly beauty. Everyone she met or talked were too fascinated about her. Treated her like a goddess. She was like the Wonder Woman with her group of Amazonians, he heard stories about them. Deadly. Beautiful. Dangerous. Some said they were a group of assassins killing their target leaving with no trace, some said they were the supernatural mafia. They were untouchable, he didn't know how they come to power and recognition because they suddenly appeared out of nowhere, dominating the supernatural world. If one wanted to acquire their skills, it would be expensive. They'll do anything, they can give you anything but with a cost.

No one dared to tell how much they paid for their services or what she looked like, she was like a myth, he didn't know if it was out of fear or respect but every client of them were tight lipped. They had to have connections to earn her time.

He was jealous, his clients were shitheads. They'll sing if threatened that's why he had to guarantee that his clients they won't talk.

"I'm giving you a group of people from my own since I've watched her from afar and realized that she has grown powerful in this realm." The man said, toying the glass in his hand. "I prefer you do this discretely and quicker."

"Of course, ao wgnjsl." He bowed.

"Now, get out of my sight."

Fucker.
