Test Run Arc 01 First Impressions

Everything was dark until light shined over me.

I woke up on a pile of yellow flowers and looked up to see a large hole showing me that I was in a cave.

I thought back to what Fate Sans told me about the backstory of the AUs and assumed that I was in Mt Ebott. Though now that I think about it, I really hoped that he would tell me something about this AU aside from the name 'Undertale'.

He gave me a phone that can make calls across the multiverse and told me to only call him for emergencies or when I'm ready to go to another AU. Though I didn't want to test my luck on annoying him right after he just sent me here so I decided not to use the phone.

I got up and saw the box that he gave me and I immediately got excited. I was going to summon my first servant, which is every FGO fan's dream, even though I won't be able to summon anyone from the Fate series. It's still a win in my book overall.

I grabbed the box and opened it. What I find inside is a black knife. Upon opening the box I felt a hostile aura from this weapon. So this is the catalyst that Fate Sans gave me? I wonder what servant I'm going to summon with this?

Though there is one problem with that.

How am I going to summon a servant?

I immediately remembered about the summoning system and started to try to activate it.

'Start' I mentaly thought.

Nothing happened.

'Open' I tried again.

Again nothing happened.

'System' I tried one last time.

[You have activated the summoning system]

Yes! And only on the third attempt.

'System I want to summon a servant using this catalyst'

[Scanning]

[...]

[You cannot do a normal summon with this catalyst]

'What?!'

I read the rules and found them all interesting, though it didn't help with my problem on what type of conditions that I needed to fulfill.

"Howdy!"

I got snapped out of my thoughts when I heard someone behind me.

The voice continued "Wow, another human fell into the underground so soon and shortly after the other human."

I looked around in worry to see where the voice was coming from. Though due to the place being dark I couldn't see anyone.

"Done here"

I looked down to see a…talking flower?

wtf!?

"Hey what's with that expression on your face? Never seen a talking flower before?Also why are your eyes colored gold?" Asked the talking flower.

I was very confused and surprised at what he said.

What does he mean? My eyes are colored gold? They were always colored brown.

Sadly there were no reflective surfaces around us to see if I did have gold eyes.

Seeing my confusion the talking flower decided to drop the subject "Well anyways my name's flowey, Flowey the flower" the talking flower now named Flowey introduced himself.

"What's your name?" He asked.

While I was hesitant at first when talking to this flower, I decided to give him my name.

Who knows? Maybe I can become friends with him, I could get some valuable information and an ally.

"My name is Matt." I replied.

"Well Matt welcome to the underground" Flowey greeted me.

"Since you're new here let me show you the ropes."

Show me the ropes of what?

Before I could ask anything something really strange happened. The color around us died out or disappeared and everything turned black and white.

"The underground is a really dangerous place, especially right now."

"Dangerous right now? What do you mean?" I asked keeping my focus on Flowey and was a little nervous at what he was doing as petals appeared out of nowhere floating in the air.

Before Flowey could say anything he looked gobsmacked at me for some reason.

I looked down and finally noticed that my soul looked visible.

"What is up with your soul!?" Exclaimed Flowey in a very scary expression " First it was your eyes and now your soul is colored gold!?"

I was seriously going to have a conversation with Fate Sans if I can get out of this situation.

It was pretty obvious that this Flowey was going to attack me so I grabbed the black knife from inside the box ready to defend myself.

Flowey calmed down, but still looked confused. "Wow, that's one weird knife you're holding."

His expression then turned demonic which sent shivers down my spine "But it doesn't matter if you have a weird weapon or if your soul is colored gold, because in this world IT'S KILL OR BE KILLED!!!"

The petals were launched right at me.

I thought I was ready to defend myself, but I froze in fear.

Some of the petals hit me and it hurt alot.

Before I knew it, I was already on the ground in pain and I panted fast.

A lot of things were running through my head at this moment.

Why did he attack me?

Why is this happening to me?

Am I going to die?

Is that my blood on the floor?

I just noticed that I was starting to bleed out due to one of the petals piercing right through me.

Flowey started to mock me. "That was absolutely pathetic, you're really weak and couldn't even take on a few petals before laying on the ground bleeding, at least the other human put up more of a fight."

I was in too much pain to say anything.

My vision started to get blurry and I let go of the black Knife, dropping it in the pool of my blood.

"Oh well, might as well put you out of your misery."

Flowey summoned another wave of pellets ready to finish me off.

The black knife started to glow.

Before I lost my consciousness a screen appeared in front of me.

[You have met the summoning requirements]

[...]

[Summoning system initiating]

A large circle of light surrounded me and the black knife and my blood evaporated into thin air.

"What the hell is going on?!" Screamed flowey.

The last thing I saw was a girl standing over me with short brown hair and red eyes holding a knife as I fell unconscious.

[You have summoned Servant Class: Avenger]
