Basics of Human and Monster Soul Trait Magic

3RD PERSON POV

"Hello everyone welcome to my class today" greeted Fate Sans.

"Today the class subject is the 'Basics of Human and Monster Soul Trait Magic' as an official in depth understanding for this FanFiction for those who are a fan of undertale or a newcomer coming here for a better understanding."

"Who are you talking to?"Said Matt sitting on a class desk.

"The readers of course" replied Fate Sans looking at the screen breaking the 4th wall.

Matt didn't even bother saying anything and just waited for the class to continue.

"Now in this FanFiction the rules and use of magic will be vastly different than from the game. The way magic will work here are inspired and influenced from the 'Glitch Tale' Wiki."

Fate Sans drew all 7 soul traits on the board.

"Here are the 7 soul traits that are used in my reality. The red one is Determination, the green one is Kindness, the orange one is Bravery, the yellow one is Justice, the blue one is Integrity, the cyan one is Patience and the purple one is Perseverance."

He then drew a human and monster on the board.

"Humans are only able to use the magic soul trait that they are born with while Monsters are able to use some of the seven soul traits."

He then wiped the board clean and drew a human with soul trait shape on it and a monster with a soul trait shape upside down on it.

"The shape of a monster and humans soul are shaped like a heart while the monsters soul are shaped upside down. For the humans you can decipher what soul trait they have by the color of their hair or eyes. For monsters they can use multiple soul traits, but it is very difficult to decipher what soul trait magic they can use, though they can't use all soul traits by 'normal means'."

He then circled both the human and monster.

"For humans the use of magic depends on them successfully feeling or doing something with what soul trait they have. For Determination one must be determined to achieve what goal or objective that they want to complete. For Kindness one must be kind and caring to others. For Bravery one must be brave and overcome fear. For Justice one must do what they believe is just and right. For Integrity one must be honest and have strong morales. For Patience one must be patient and wise. For Perseverance one must be persistent despite their objectives or goals being difficult."

"I'm really enjoying this class so far" said Matt.

"I'm glad that you are and I hope that the readers are enjoying this as well" replied Fate sans.

"I have a question though?" Said Matt.

"What is it?" Asked Fate sans.

"Do humans get influenced by the soul trait that they are born with?"

Fate sans took a thinking pose and after a moment he gave Matt an answer.

"Yes and no."

"Please explain" asked Matt as he knew that he was going to hear a long explanation.

"Sometimes a soul trait that a human is born with can influence them and sometimes not" Explained Fate Sans.

He cleared the board and drew two humans side by side, one with a smiling face and the other with an angry face and pointed to the first human.

"Sometimes the soul trait that a human is born with will influence them and make them gear more towards their soul trait to better use their magic."

He then pointed at the second human.

"Sometimes it doesn't affect them. For some examples someone with Determination can have no determination at all. Someone with Kindness can be a terrible person. Someone with Bravery can be a coward. Someone with Justice can hold no sense of justice. Someone with Integrity can be a Liar. Someone with Patience can be someone impatient. Someone with Perseverance can be someone who gives up when things get difficult."

'So even if I come across people with these soul traits I shouldn't have that as a way to see what type of person they are. That type of thinking could get me in trouble or even killed in the future' Matt thought taking this information in for future reference.

He could come across someone with Determination killing people. Someone who isn't affected by their Kindness soul trait could be a terrible person. Someone with Bravery can be a coward and would not make a great ally at all. Some with Justice could have their own jaded sense of Justice. Someone with Integrity could be a liar and have no good morales. Someone with Patience could be a person waiting to backstab me when the time is right. Someone with perseverance could be someone lazy and completely useless.

At the end of the day these are just traits. And it is up to the person to act on those traits whether for good or evil.

Fate sans erased the board and drew a green soul trait.

"Now that we are done talking about what soul traits are and how they effect humans, we will now discuss their magic uses."

Fate sans snapped his fingers and a humanoid robot appeared with a green heart symbol on it along with a controller on his hand. The robot was very bulky wearing a lot of armor and looked like a walking tank.

"Is that a robot?!" Asked Matt in amazement.

"Yep, something that I built. It's a training dummy that can replicate one soul trait and use its abilities. It is here show you the abilities you can use with all 7 soul traits" Replied Fate sans.

He then looked at the robot.

"We will discuss about Kindness Magic first. From our last conversation I said that Kindness magic is used for 'Support Magic' such as 'Healing' and making 'Magic Shields'. Now we will have a more in depth review about this soul trait."

He pressed one of the buttons on the controller and the robot dummy summoned a Magic Shield. It was a green construct shaped like a shield floating in thin air.

"One of the most basic things that you can use Kindness magic for is summoning a magic shield. With enough practice you can make the shield bigger, tougher and if you're dedicated you can summon more than one shield."

He pressed another button and the robot dummy made the magic shield more bigger and wider along with summoning two other shields around it.

"That's pretty cool" said Matt.

"Matt could you come up here for a demonstration?" Asked Fate sans.

"Um, sure" Matt said confused at what the demonstration is going to be.

When Matt walked up to Fate sans, fate sans summoned a sharp bone and made a cut on Matt's hand.

"Ow! What the hell!?"Screamed Matt clutching at his hand as blood was poured out from the cut wound.

"Oh don't be such a crybaby Matt its just a cut" said Fate sans as he pressed a button on the remote.

The robot dummy dispelled the magic shields and walk towards Matt and held out both hands above his wounded hand and started healing it.

"Another basic ability is healing though only with basic wounds. With practice you could speed up the regeneration or heal lethal wounds" Fate sans explained.

When the robot finished healing Matt's wound it stepped away from him and manifested a green doom around itself.

"Next is a magic barrier perfect for blocking large scale attacks that you can't normally block against with a magic shield."

The robot them dispersed the green dome and summoned one on Matt.

"Uh…fate sans a little help here!" Panicked Matt as the magic barrier was shrinking.

"It can also be used to capture or restrain enemies" said Fate Sans as he gestured for the robot to stop.

The magic barrier around Matt disappeared.

"Okay that's its! I don't want to help with the demonstration anymore, because it feels like I'm the training dummy here and not the robot!" Exclaimed Matt.

"Alright, alright Matt you can go back to your seat" said Fate Sans.

"Thank you" said Matt walking back to his seat.

The robot then summoned a green staff.

"With enough practice you can shape the magic into weapons and or items" said Fate Sans as the robot took some fighting positions with the staff.

"That's pretty cool" said Matt interested in what weapon he would make.

"Oh and I almost forgot!" Said Fate Sans "Trapping enemies in the magic barrier who use Patience magic to teleport will not work."

'Now that is a useful tip to know for the future' Matt thought as he didn't really know what he would do against those that can teleport.

"Now we go into the disadvantages of kindness magic" said Fate sans as he pressed another button which had the robot disappear.

'I hope the disadvantages aren't too bad' thought Matt.

Fate Sans then summarized "When you use Kindness magic to heal you must stand still while you do it. If you use it to heal yourself it will take much longer to heal and takes more magic to use. This magic also lacks any offense unless you get creative. I also advise against using this magic against Perseverance magic as I told you In our first conversation that any wounds from perseverance magic makes it very to heal. When you use shields and barriers depending on the enemy will have you use more magic to keep them sustained and take hits."

'Okay I just gotta steer clear when using kindness magic and against perseverance magic' I thought.

"Next is Bravery magic which is used for 'offensive magic' increasing one's physical power and destructive power."

After saying that a new robot appeared. The robot was not bulky nor wore any armor unlike its Kindness variant. It was skinny and it looked like it had a jet pack on its back and some boosters on its feet. With some gauntlets and a Bravery heart symbol on it.

"Okay one that robot design looks awesome" said Matt at awe looking at the design before continuing "second So Bravery magic is about being a melee fighter?"

"In a sense ya" responded Fate Sans.

The robot got into a fighting position and did some punches and kicks.

"Bravery magic is all about increasing and using physical strength. Becoming more faster, stronger and durable."

"So pretty much getting a lot of physical buffs" said Matt.

"In a way yes, Bravery magic prioritizes on increases your body's physical power more then anything else." Fate Sans explained "All other magic you just manifested weapons or use some abilities outside of your body."

A concrete wall appeared in-front of the robot. It punched the wall only leaving small cracks. It tried a second time but this time it surrounded itself in Orange aura using Bravery magic to increase the power of the punch.

The concrete wall was destroyed with ease leaving nothing but dust on the floor.

"Wow" said Matt looking at the dust in the floor.

'The first punch left some cracks, but the second one destroyed that wall' he thought.

"You can do more than just punching, you can also do some kicks" said Fate Sans.

A new wall spawned infront of the of the robot and kicked the wall leaving some cracks and the second kick with it being boosted by Bravery magic destroyed it easily.

"Increases physical endurance, physical strength and physical speed."

The robot surrounded itself in Orange aura continuously rather than a brief moment when doing attacks.

"Are there any non physical abilities?" Asked Matt.

"Manifesting weapons, Bombs and explosions" replied Fate Sans.

Matt gave him a curious look.

Fate sans gestured towards the robot.

The robot focused its magic into manifesting a large hammer.

And promptly bashed it against a wall destroying it.

Then it created an orange orb and threw it against the wall and it exploded.

It charged up its fist and punched a wall, but instead of it getting cracks it exploded.

"I have a few ideas on how to use those bombs" said Matt coming up with some creative ideas on how to use the bombs.

"And now for the weaknesses" said Fate Sans, "Using to much will leave a massive strain to the body and there are four stages on the pain before you die. The first is your body becomes sore, then a massive strain on the body, then your bones will break, and finally one of your limbs will explode. After that you simply die due to your body not being able to handle Bravery magic."

Matt felt uncomfortable at the description of the levels of pain of overusing Bravery Magic. This magic is a double edge sword if he doesn't use it properly. It's like kaioken from dragon ball, but weaker. It would be safe if he used it in short bursts rather than long bursts in a battle.

"Now for the next magic" said Fate Sans.

Another robot appeared. It looked pretty badass in Matt's opinion. This robot kind of looked like war machine from 'Iron man'. Two shoulder cannons, palms blasters, gauntlet blasters, floating laser guns and laser pistols along with a lot of projectile attachments.

"It looks so badass!" Said Matt looking at awe at the robot.
