The Decision III

Teraqe slightly nodded at the presence of the man. "I want to have a little talk with my old friend, honey. Could you leave us for a moment?" Waived his hand to his daughter. A hand with blue ring.

The raw powerful ring.

Olivia went pale. If this was the danger that it warned her, she must do something before it was too late.

"I just want to talk, an old friend talk, Olivia." Evan said before she could think.

"Please, honey." The king added.

"I'm sorry." She bowed then left.

Click. The door closed.

"So, what is it about lord Vladi... I mean Evan." The name he preferred.

"Just to check on you and your daughter. She seems perfect, as a warrior, as a prophet." Evan begun.

"Yes, but not likely. Her power can be stronger, with the right mentor." The king retorted. "With you."

"She needs no mentor, Teraqe, you know that." A meaningful stare, then "Tell me about the war."

"I will march no army, I will make Benark as an aid capital. Play it neutral."

"Smart move." Evan added. "And don't try to use Zephyr, the power it yields is unpredictable." The blue ring which the king possessed.

A nod from the old man.

Evan halted before he left the hall. "Do you have any regret? As a king and a father."

"Everything is done for my daughter and my people. I don't see anything to be regretful." The king answered.

"Good." Was all he said before he left.

———

Later that night, thunder roared. Thunderstorm in Benark is uncommon.

Lightning flashed, stood a man in the king's bedroom.

He raised a knife slowly. A bloody knife.

The scent of his bloody knife was so strong, it made the king awoke.

Another lightning struck.

Blood had been spilled.
