Feleyn’s Hope I

"Do I have to remind you about the ring, its power?" A whisper.

"I know what I should or shouldn't do, old man." Evan said as he gathering his stuffs, not many actually, just clothes, coins, and knives.

The next morning, news about the king assassination was told and whispered in every corner of the slum. Some criminals fled, some vanished, but most of them started hunting freely.

"So, now what?" Grimmore said.

"Get a bow."

"Ah. The Claw. And who wields it now?" A whisper continued to ask.

"No idea. Might be the Fae." He added, "This is not going to end well, I suppose."

"What's wrong with them? They are nice."

"They or She, old man?" A silly question.

Utter silence. A complete victory it seemed.

"Let's have some tea with her, shall we?" Evan smiled as he finished with his pack.

"Ireos."

———

Feleyn, the heart of the land, is a Fae residence where mortals are forbidden. It's a circular plain island in which the waterfall is located in the centre, and in side it is an another ring of island where it has been used as an arsenal, a sacred armory.

When Evan arrived at the inner ring of the island, where only High-Fae are allowed, it was occupied by the tattooed warriors, the queen's cadre, all wet in sweat after doing their routine exercises. The presence of him made the men eyes widened as they reached for their weapons. The two of them used swords , as the last one went for the old fashion way, bare hands. All of them flashed their canines and were readied to throw it down as someone snapped from the entrance.

"What in the rotting hell are you doing here?" Everyone straightened. "All three of you, put your damn weapons down, you have no chance against him." A bark of a command to her warriors, from the silver hair queen, the Fae queen.

"Is this how you welcome guest here in Feleyn?" Evan said to the queen.

"You called yourself a guest after you slipped in here, boy?" Compared to her, Evan is just a young man.

"Calm down, Helena, the boy posed no harm here." Grimmore said as the water steam started to form together, to solidify a body of a man wearing exquisite leather robe, a king's costume.

The queen frowned, "What is it that brought you here?" The three warriors seemed to be confused at the way they talked to each other.

"We just want to acquire something." Evan said.

"And that something is going to be The Claw." Helena quickly responded, straight to the point. "It comes with the price, boy."

"You name it." He knew the queen would make a demand, and that would be....

"My cadre, modify their blood and train them, Vampire." The warriors straightened at that name, the name that the Fae claimed it for him, the legend who once had adjusted the queen's blood, to heal her. "Do it, and The Claw shall be yours."

"Alter it in which way?" Grimmore scowled.

"Narre."

———

She had to be insane. Changing the blood to become stronger or faster is acceptable, but to be Narre , to be berserk, pure madness.

Evan told the warriors to lay down on the ground and take off their shirt, they immediately obeyed, as he made a cut on his wrist, blood started dripping, the three of them frowned at the blood scent.

After Grimmore and Helena left them all in the waterfall.

"Is it true?" Baron, the alpha of the pack, with shredded muscles, brown hair, and can be undoubtedly the most handsome man in Feleyn asked. "That you had altered her blood."

"That is just what rumor claimed." As the blood now clotted into a stick, a wand. "I just healed her, that's all."

The vampire plunged the wand into Baron's hand, the Fae's blood dispersed into the air, made it able to be rearranged.

As swift as the wind, he changed Baron blood formation with his eyes, sliding crazily. The other two were shocked as Evan finished it with just mere seconds. He then turned into the other two, Cayn, the tan-skinned warriors, and Seth, wearing a pair of glasses that suggested him as a brain of the pack. They nodded slightly before Evan did the same to both of them.
