Purple Havoc Part 2

A monster?! I have a feeling that it has something to do with the Orange incident. I mean unless an animatronic monster escaped from a movie set. It has to be someone who found their DNA all rearranged.

If so then this place isn't safe for Aunt Celty or anyone else for that matter. The mall might be big and have a lot of places to hind in but, once it comes crashing down it's nothing more than a fancy tome stone. If whatever or whoever has the power to throw manhole covers like frisbees then it has more than enough power to send this building crashing down. I'd survive (probably....) but Aunt Celty would be crushed..... and I guess so would everyone else too..... oh well!

I look around the store, peaking my head through the door to the side of the counter. Looking past the overpriced makeup, I see a door in the back of the store. The backroom perhaps? I know we're on the first floor, so the backrooms should all have a door leading to the loading docs. How do I know this you ask? Well, let's just say that I've played enough pranks in Snobbyville to know the place like the back of my hand.

Now the problem at hand is convincing everyone to make a B line for the door. When facing danger people fight, run, or freeze. They already ran, and now they've frozen solid. Can I even get them to listen with the ground shaking?

"Hey everyone, it looks like theirs an exit over there. " I say in a quiet whisper that those around me could hear. They didn't even look away from the front of the building. The shaking getting louder, meaning that thing is getting closer.

Bang! Bang! Gunshots ring out through the chaos, followed by a bloodcurdling scream. So powerful the people, who only a moment ago were frozen like statues, bolted for the door. Aunt Cely grabbed my arm dragging me alone, but a sudden powerful quake shook the building causing the floor above us to start coming down.

I knew that both of us weren't going to make it. So, I made a rash decision.

Forcing my aunt's hand off of me. I push her forward throw the door right before rocks started raining down like an April shower. I jumped back out of the way. The door slammed shut.

The backroom is a designated shelter, so even if she can't get to the loading dock things should work out.

"[Calculating: There is a 68% chance that the building will collapse under the current conditions.]

"Now you're talkative. Where was your input earlier?" I replied to my unwanted company.

"[Response: It was unwise to speak with so many unknown homo sapiens.]"

"I get it stranger danger. Anyway, we've got a bigger problem now."

More gunshots ring out followed by a monstrous scream, that shattered glass and forced me to my knees.

[Warning: Danger! Unidentified creature in close proximity.]

"Yes, yes I know! We've got to do something!"

[Response: The best option is to retreat to a safer area.]

"Sorry to break it to ya, but theirs only one-way out, the front door. Where that creature is causing havoc as we speak,"

[Anazyses: Scanning current terrain..... Prior statement confirmed..... Number of exits found: one.]

"Problem is I'll likely have to use my power to protect myself."

[Inquriey: Why is that? Are the current forces outside inefficient?]

The building shakes more pieces of ceiling fall. Time is running out, leaving me with few options. I know I talked big earlier, saying I could survive the building falling on me (probably), but let's be real here. If I'm not killed by a rough manhole cover first.

"No, they just tend to shoot first and ask questions later. Especially under conditions like these. Besides, we can't be sure that the creature is going to let us pass so easily. I mean it is tearing Snobyville apart like wet paper. In any case, if I get found out who knows what'll happen to Aunt Celty."

Besides the moment I use my power to protect myself, I become a threat just like that creature.... no just like that person. All the mutant disasters lately have brought both cities to a breaking point. Hundreds have been hurt, but luckily no one's been killed yet. No, it's a miracle.

[Answer: Head towards the exit.]

"Wait, didn't we just have this conversation?"

[Replie: To use an earthly phrase, "Just shut up and run"]

That left me speechless and offended. But it's not like I have many choices. I either let a building fall on me or into a no man's land nestled between a mutant monster and a hail of bullets. At least bullets can miss and building not so much.

I just make a b-line for the door. I flew over piles of rubble and shattered glass. Clouds of dust blocked my view but I saw through it with my energy vision. (Yes that's what I'm calling it, sue me.) Of course, in my haste to make it out of the crumbling building, I ended up coming out like a rocket.

A bright blue bolt of light came dashing across the sky as the once amazing mall come crashing to the ground. The flash of light came to a stop over the city streets That's what the bystanders saw.

I didn't know then that the bright blue bolt of light would become my signature and decide what people would come to call me.
