1 Accident

Sirens blaring, flashing red lights. The ship shakes from the impact of lasers. "Captain! Engines two and six are down! The hull on deck three has been breached!", a crewman yells over the explosions.

"Seal all passages to deck three, now! Reroute all nonessential power to engines one and four! We can't let them get the cargo!", The captain barks at the fearful crewmen on deck.

Crewmen look at each other with worry, One brave soul speaks up, "B-b-but c-c-captain, engines one and four are already s-s-starting to o-o-overheat. I-i-if we reroute p-p-power to them t-t-then they c-c-could e-e-explode!"

"I don't care! We have to....." Replied the captain, but before he could finish the ship shifted violently to the right. Forcing the captain out of his seat along with most of the crew. Badly bruised and battered the crew hears a voice coming over the ship's communication console. A holographic screen appeared above their heads. A man with piercing crimson cat-like eyes appears. He's muscular; wearing an olive green empire military uniform. His voice strong and gritty, "Surrender now and I might think about letting some of you federation worms live." The man said with a smug narcissistic smile.

The captain looking at the screen, then at his crew. Without saying a word they all knew what he's thinking and agreed. There's no way the empire can be allowed to get their hands on the cargo. If they do then, not just this galaxy but the whole universe will be in danger, but this is a losing battle. They are just a cargo vessel. Equipped with only minimum arms and defensive equipment, they don't stand a chance against the empires' fully equipped battleship.

Faced with a decision that means death no matter what choice is made. The captain gets to his feet and staggers back to his seat. Once there he puts his hand on a scanner. The ship's computer responds, " biometrics verified: Captain Neal Baker acknowledged. "

The captain replies, "initiate cargo ejection sequence. Location nearest federation military base." Then giving his men one final look, his eyes filled with sorrow, he pulls out a picture of a young blonde woman holding a newborn baby girl.

Under his breath, he whispers "I'm sorry, I can't keep our promise."

In a loud clear voice, he said, " After the cargo is ejected have the ship self-destruct!"

At that moment the cargo was loaded into spherical pods then lunched towards an unknown galaxy. The empire ship picked up the pods on their radar. Angered by the federation's ship's actions; they prepare to go after the pods when the federation ship exploded in a fiery haze. The shockwave pushed the warship back; an EMP fires off right after the explosion.

The caption of the empire battleship with a booming infuriated voice "Damn those federation worms! Follow those pods! We must complete our mission at all costs!"

"Sorry caption, but the EMP has knocked out our navigation systems. We can't follow the pods.", a soldier replied then added, "We can, however, predicate their flight path and destination."

The captain with eyes like a beast ready to kill looks at the crewmen. Clinching his fist he said, "Fine! Track the pods and bring navigation back online. Then plot a direct course..." Before he could finish a blue circle appeared to their left, a warp gate. Battleships appear from the gate, one then two, till there thirty ships incircle the empire vessel. Each with a picture of thirteen stars around a planet with an X shape ring, the symbol of the Intergalactic Federation.

"Flag Empire battleship, this is Captain Zege Zeller of the Intergalactic Federation grand fleet. You are violating the Aries progression pact by committing acts of war within an underdeveloped star system. Surrender peacefully or face the consequences!", Captain Zeller commanded.

"Damn worms! Prepare to open a warp gate! We're leaving!", The empire ship's captain exclaimed.

"But captain, we can't sir! They have us surrounded, we don't have enough clearance. Besides even if we did we're flying blind!", a crewman stated with a nervous tone.

"I don't care! We can't be caught now! No one can know of our mission. Warp us now!!!", the empire ship's captain commands. His crew looks at each other than get to work. Redirecting power to the warp crystals and adjusting the ignorite lenses. Opening a warp gate, the federation fleet moves to intercept but it too late. The empire ship slips through the gate as the electron charge cannons fire.

"All ships prepare to pursue!", announces Captain Zeller. The fleet opens a warp gate and follows the battleship.

Meanwhile, the pods carrying the cargo, blown off course by the exposition make their way to an unexpecting planet in the near Milky way galaxy, Earth.

Racing at six thousand light-years per second. Slowing down once they hit the Earth's gravity, the pods collide with each other as there pulled to the surface. Containers breaking away revealing their contents. Many smaller packages are revealed, two bio containers draw closer together. Coming closer and closer till the two, now burning balls of fire, collide.

The biochemical content of the two containers mix and merge together, then ignite turning to an expanding orange cloud. The other cargo pierces the cloud and impacts the surface one after another. While the cloud expands covering the sky over a city in North America.

Below the cloud on the surface in a city known as the Big Apple. People young and old alike look towards the sky. Forcing the slow-moving traffic to a halt. Watching in both terror and amusement as the azure blue sky turns pumpkin orange. In times squire, a large crowd of people began to form. In that crowd, a girl with rust-colored hair, a long pixie cut, and pale blue eyes. Wearing faded jeans, a gray jacket, and worn sneakers.

Who is this girl you ask? That's me. I haven't introduced myself, my name is Sora Green and sadly this is my story. Had I'd known that this funny look cloud would change my life forever. Maybe I would have listened to my Aunt and stayed inside that day. But the fact remains I didn't and this is where my story begins.

Looking up to the sky like everyone else, completely focused on the cloud. I only realized that something was wrong when the people around me started to scream. In the haze of the moment, it took me a second to understand what was going on. Drops of some sort of goo were falling from the cloud like rain. Before I knew it I was running for cover. Moving as fast I could without tripping or being trampled on by the ensuing mob. I was caught in the middle and unable to move towards shelter. Being a bit on the small side it was a struggle not to end up as part of the road, let alone make it to one side or another. People running into stores and buildings; trying to dodge the goo.

After a few seconds, that felt like hours, I could see the door to a café. I'd kept the goo off me, I'm in the home stretch. Two steps away, my hand on the handle, and on the back of my neck, I feel a bone-chilling sensation. Falling through the door, the chilling sensation turned to searing pain. Like a thousand tiny flaming needles were flowing through my veins. It hurt to move, to breathe. As if the simple act of living was painful. I curled up into a ball, huddled in pain.

Concerned people gathered around me, at least the ones who weren't glued to their phones. They tried talking to me but I couldn't hear them over the ringing sound in my ears. My vision became blurry, and before I knew it.

I blacked out.
