Hearing my name escape his mouth sends goosebumps up and down my arm as I start to grow tense. "Who the hell is this guy? I've never seen him before in my life yet somehow he knows my name" I think to myself. "We know about how you got in that fight in your school yesterday and I would be willing to bet that guy will be coming for a round two for the sake of his pride, at the very least we could teach you how to box a little in case he tries to jump you or something. Trust me we'll pay you better than any part time job your thinking about taking on.

"Why do you want me to join so badly " I ask him. "Well the truth is Devin we've been watching you for some time now, but not just you all the new students that have been coming to Eastside High. I'm willing to bet you would really like some spare change in your pocket as well, especially since you don't really got any. Come on just promise me you'll be there tomorrow and we'll make it worth your while, it won't hurt to check out the boss offer."

"All of this is so sudden for me and I honestly don't know what to make of this guy" I then say out loud "so you would be able to give me some boxing lessons". He responds "yeah, well maybe not me but we could definitely do that for you. You can back out at anytime you feel like too I promise". "Okay I'll come" I say."Great " he says this and without another word, walks off.

The Next Day

I wake up the next day. There is a different feeling that waking up has when it isn't forced by an alarm clock, it is simply more peaceful. This is how I know I've awoken on a Saturday morning. I hear noise being made about the house which means the other two occupants are getting ready for work.

I step out of room and see my uncle in the kitchen. "Good morning"I say, in a low mumbled voice he says "G'morning". "Is it okay if I go out today" "Yeah, I don't care" he responds "just make sure you walk that damn dog". That dog is a Chihuahua that loves to cry like he's being neglected, but that's because he kind of is. He is usually locked up in a room almost all hours of the day and only gets let out for both of his short ten minute walks. It could be worse though, he may not be as blessed as some dogs to get showered with love but at least he's not being beaten or starved.

Once my uncle and his wife leave and I've walked the dog I start planning out my next move as I think out loud to myself. "So I have an hour and a half to get to Polly's Pie. If I were to take a bus the majority of the way and do a little walking I should be able to get there within 30 to 40 minutes of leaving. With 50 minutes before I need to leave I take a shower, eat, and watch some tv before setting out for my rendezvous.

Before I know it I'm getting off at my stop and I'm making my way to the pizza place. With each step I take I find myself growing more and more anxious as I begin to ponder who I'm going to meet. "Whoever they are they've been watching me and they even know my name, but why, what's so special about me that they decided to go through the trouble of meeting me here." These thoughts fly through brain as I approach the entrance to Polly's Pie .

I stop in front of the glass doors and take a deep breath before pushing open the glass doors open. "Ahhh Devin" I'm greeted by an accent that immediately reminds me of one of those old mobster movies. "Come, come sit down" a guy says as he motions for me to come towards while sitting down in a booth. I warily make my way over to the man and take my seat opposite to him in our booth. As I look at him he appears to quite clean and almost businessman like with a three piece suit to match, although his demeanor doesn't really shout professional to me.

"What's your favorite pizza, huh" before I have time to respond he says "never mind how about I surprise you with my favorite pizza instead, huh" I just nod in response. "Bobby could you turn the sign to closed and give us my favorite" he shouts. A middle aged man comes out the back in response and says "it'll be done in five minutes, I knew what you were gonna ask for"
