Under the Shadows...

On the west of Luna (The central continent of this planet, Link), was a continent surrounded by the Ocean of Abaddon, The Lars Continent.

Initially, it was a place filled with vibrant vitality flowing through its land, water and sky. Most races lived here with love and a sense of comradery, Until the great war from Ancient times was fought.

Geographically, It was situated at the center of the three continents i.e.

Continent of Grace, Luna, the home of humans and Demi-humans.

Continent of peace, Aman, the home of Elves and spirits.

Achlys, Where the sorrow flows, residence of Demons.

Luna, Aman and Achlys were ruled by Humans, Elves and Demons but Lars didn't possess any unique ruler. Due to which, the other emperors wanted to occupy it for themselves.

It initiated the cruelest war in the history of Link, The war of shrieking souls, devastating the once vibrant land!

At that time, the Lars green land was covered in the blood of countless soldiers, beasts, and innocent alike! The pure water of rivers turned into scarlet blood filled with countless bodies sliced into pieces!

Their wails dyed the once blue sky of lars into a permanent black! Till that day, the sun was unable to illuminate the surface of water aside from the festival of fallens, celebrated on the last day of every year.

On the very day, the three races traumatized by the meaningless slaughter finally put a stop to this heinous event. The three races retreated back to their own lands and agreed to never wage a war for Lars, marking it as the forbidden land.

Unfortunately, Lars had already been contaminated by the hate, fear, pain and other negative emotions of the beings that had fallen. Their massive amount of emotion, bound by the single will of destruction and slaughter were mixed with the mana present in Link, creating the most chaotic energy- Miasma, defined by the Archmages, Scholars and The Pope of Lunar Church.

The Dark sky above Lars was the amalgamation of the solidified will of the creatures died in the infamous war, it had stopped the souls of fallen to ascend from this mortal plane to join the cycle of reincarnation.

Those pitiful souls had to wander on Lars in the form of vengeful spirits and undead with the sole purpose of utter destruction of every being.

However, every coin has two sides...

Whereas, the three races has refrained from venturing into the land of plague (Another name of Lars continent), It has made Lars to be ruled by the criminals, low-lives and other social pests to squirm in their heaven of chaos, raising the only city in the middle of the continent, unperturbed by the outside world, the Klein city.

The city is ruled by chaos, violence, greed and fear! The city where gold was worth shit! While food and water are more precious than gems!

Strangely though, the city of chaos itself isn't chaotic. In this city, there's only one rule, we don't care about your origin or past, but violence/Destruction is prohibited in this rule.

Surprisingly, No one dared to break this law due the presence of the mysterious founder of this city, always shrouded under the veil of darkness.

Establishing a strange order on this uncertain land, giving a short rest to the living, far away from their past that most wanted to forget.

One such ordinary day in The Klein city,

"A Fish for five low-grade mana pearls!"

"Fresh vegetables for one low-grade mana pearls!

"NO! Leave me!"

"Young Slave for only 10 mid-grade mana pearls!"

Life was going as usual ignoring the pitiful shouts of a middle-aged woman wearing rags, tied with Iron locks and chains. Her looks were ordinary with nothing special to describe aside from the Symbol of black flame inscribed on her neck, defining her status as a slave.

The surrounding crowd ignored her pleas, instead they ogled on her fine body like hungry beasts of prey, clearly confirming the fact that incidents like these are pretty common in this place. Since, most of the crowd is dirt poor, none of them bothered about her price.

It made the slave trader frown and looked sadly at the woman still struggling to free from her restraints.

But, how can she break the mana reinforced locks that many rank-A adventures couldn't.

"Hey, I want that slave!"

"Yes Sir! Only 10 Mid-grade mana pearls!"

Just when the slave trader was about to return, a voice rang out with the appearance of a man dressed in fairly luxurious clothes made of silk, at least in this city.

The Human man wasn't the fat type, whose lecherous smile would have left the dear reader in coma or disgust, instead he was fairly handsome after ignoring the countless blades he carried on his body.

His entire being was radiating the aura of a psychopath, making the crowd of mixed races (i.e. Human, Elves, Demon, Barbarians etc.) to move away from man.

However, the slave trader bravely went to greet the man with his best smile possible, ignoring the bloodlust emanating from him. For he is fully aware of the rules of this city, The one's killed here couldn't even get freedom as they would be tortured till their very souls disintegrated into nothingness.

Coupled with the lessons of the past, the residents of Klein's city are very much aware of the capabilities of the founder. No one wanted to be punished inside the city, as those who were punished, their painful shrieks still echoed in the dreams of everyone.

"Here."

"Great doing business with you! Come again in ten day! We will acquire some fine collections for you!

The psychopath threw the money on the face of the slave trader and grabbed the woman with his strong and sturdy arms, engraved with countless wounds.

The Slave trader wasn't bothered with the behavior of the human male, he had long been used to this treatment. On this land, leaving someone alive is the greatest boon anything can give you. Therefore, most were not bothered about the fake respect or gratitude.

After paying the slave trader, the psychopath brought the woman outside the city through the countless alleys and uneven roads.

On his way, he had not even bothered to bind the woman with the master-slave contract.

When he reached before the trees of sorrows (grown by absorbing the miasma from land, water and air) he finally stopped and threw the woman on the hard ground with a thud*

And as expected, the woman had already lost the will to fight. Finding her owner, who had brought him to this accursed place, her hope to live had long since exhausted.
