Under the Gilded Sky

Hera POV

"235 and..256!" I sign as I look at the puzzle. This is literally the hardest puzzle I have ever solved. This made me go numb

"Heraaaa!!!" Sami! She's back from Spain after her high school graduation trip with her classmates

I turn around quickly and see Sami running toward me with a wide smile on her face.

"Oh my dear Hera, how have you been? Have you eaten well? Do you miss me?" Sami said as soon as she reach me and act just like my mom. I can't stop myself but brust out laughing at her cute action

"Common now, I'm 19. I can look after myself."

I said with a chuckle as I turn back to the puzzle I just solved that was placed on a table behind us. Sami put her chin on my shoulder and observe the puzzle…

"Hera, we're going back to Korea before starting university…Are you excited to be back in our home country?" Sami suddenly said it with a firm tone

"Of course, I miss everyone…everyone" I heavily admit I miss everyone….and ….

"Park Sunghoon" Sami word take a surprise out of me. Oh dear, why would you say his name out loud like that. I can't do anything except standing there stunned

"Do you miss him?" Sami said the most expected word I expected the most from her.

I turn to face her before brushing it off slightly

"Wh-why are you asking me that? H-he have nothing to do with me!" I finished and quickly turn around again

Sami laugh out loud at my embarrassed face and tone before she continues her tease

"Oh common, isn't he your fiancé? Everyone literally know that you guy are engaged"

"So what? We lost contact long ago already" I said and put the puzzle back in the box before quickly run to the bed that have my luggage laid on it.

"You'll meet him.100% when we go back" sami said as she approached me

"Now, Miss Kim Sami , why don't you go pack your stuff ? We'll leave tomorrow!" I said trying my best to change the topic

"Fine fine" Sami said as she sign before walking out

I continue to pack my stuff… remembering all the moments that happened between me and Sunghoon…how we lost contact

3 years ago…

"Sorry Hera, I've been busy lately with all the school work. You know, I'm the president of student council now. I have a lot of responsibility but still I'm sorry I don't make time for you" Sunghoon said with an exhausted voice on the line . Hearing that make me worried

" it's okay, I understand. Don't forget to rest well and take care of yourself" I reply with full concern

"Thanks… sorry I got to go. Talk to you later. Take care!" He suddenly hung up….

From then on every time I called him he would answer and be on call with me with a short period of time…this continues until I can no longer contacted him…

"Do you think he has a lover?" Sami break the ice

"Nonsense, Sunghoon would never. He's just busy" I defended him with a whole heart

"How can you be so sure? You last met him when you was 13! That time, he didn't even hit puberty yet! Everything can change Hera, not everyone have the good heart like you" Sami said with a concern face. She look stressed

"But…" Sami cut me off and pull me onto a hug

"No matter what happened, I'll always be by your side. I know you deserve only the best. From now on if he didn't contacted you back…don't contact him" Sami said as I slowly nod. Sami and I have been friends since forever. She witnessed every moment with my life. She was in our friend group with Singh back in Korea and luckily she got sent here with me. I'm grateful to have her by my side …

Korea

Sami and I arrived at Incheon International airport. As we walk out, he saw a sign that was held by two man in suit.

"Welcome back, Hwang Hera and Kim Sami" Sami read the sign and chuckle.

We walk to the sign as we spot our family. I saw my mom again after being apart for very long. I run to her and hug her tightly

"I'm home" I said as I snuggle into her

"Yes, you're home, my Hera" mom said as she pat my back. I miss this feeling. J miss everyone . She released me before turning to Sami

" you got bigger Sami. Prettier too" mom said as she chuckle

"Oh my god, thanks aunties" she said as she shyly hug her mom, Mrs Kim

"Let's go eat a big meal for Hera and Sami welcoming party" my older brother, Hwang Heeseung said proudly . We all laugh before walking out together…
